Evolution Begins With A Big Tree

The first thing Yu Ziyu feels is the weight of the wind running through his branches.

No heartbeat. No breath. Only roots burrowing deep, bark thickening, and a sky that keeps drawing farther away as he climbs toward it. By the time he understands he has been reborn as a willow, the world has already begun to twist.

Spiritual energy surges back like a long‑withheld tide. Ordinary animals crack stone with a roar. Humans tear open clouds and carve canyons with a single step. Cities huddle beneath storms of power they can’t control.

And in the middle of this upheaval, a single tree grows until its crown blots out the sun.

Yu Ziyu is no ordinary willow. He can change, again and again, each evolution layering new strength into his trunk, new secrets into his leaves. The fruits he bears do not rot; they awaken powers in those who dare to eat them. His quiet presence alone fattens beasts, sharpens claws, hardens scales.

Above his vast canopy wheel his three elemental generals, commanders of storm, flame, and frost. At his roots, nine colossal beasts rest like living mountains, drawing breath in time with the rustle of his leaves.

They name him many things: World Tree, Tree of Beginnings, God Tree, Cursed Tree, Tree Demon. Worshippers kneel in his shade. Enemies curse him from shattered strongholds. All of them feel the same thing when they look up into those endless, whispering boughs—a wordless, shivering awe at a being that may yet decide what this new age becomes.
