Synopsis
The tent is winning.
Stacia’s car has died somewhere on a back road in the North Carolina mountains, her phone is useless, and the only thing she has more of than student debt is stubbornness. She’s got a crumpled college syllabus with a secret bucket list scribbled on the back, a cheap tent she can’t get to stand, and a hard, bright need to prove she can do one thing entirely on her own.
Then a man steps out of the tree line like the forest just let him go.
Duff knows every fold and shadow of these hills. He can follow a creek by sound, name birds in the dark, feel a storm before the sky admits it.
