I Have a Golden Crow

Du Yu wakes up with ash in his throat and a second sun screaming in his ears.

A moment ago—he’s sure of it—he was no one special. Now he’s standing beneath a sky split by spirit beasts and contract sigils, in a world where people raise demons the way others train swords. There’s no explanation, no gentle guide, just a burning brand on his soul and a voice in his mind that sounds like fire learning to speak.

The thing bound to him is not a cute starter familiar. It is a Golden Crow, a fragment of a star that once scorched heavens. Its light sears his skin from the inside, and when he looks at it with his inner sight, he sees feathers made of solar flares and eyes like molten gold.

“Are you… from the Golden Crow race?” he manages, squinting into the radiance.

The reply comes in broken, flickering thoughts, like a flame in a windstorm. Don’t send me away. I can help. I can make you stronger. Let me stay.

Du Yu doesn’t know how he fell into this demon‑taming world. He doesn’t know why a half‑crippled sun‑spirit is clinging to him with something like fear. All he has are burned fingertips, a cultivation path he never asked for, and a partner whose power could either raise him above the strongest tamers or reduce him—and everything around him—to ash.

To move forward, man and crow will have to learn how to share the same fire, even if it means walking a road lit by the constant threat of their own destruction.
