Reborn as an Extra
Synopsis
The first thing Rio sees is a cracked dorm ceiling.
The second is a training sword leaning against his bed.
The third is a name on his student badge that doesn’t belong to him.
Yesterday, he was just a reader closing the last page of a battle‑academy novel. Today, he wakes up inside it—reborn as a forgettable side character whose only purpose was to stand in the background while the real hero shines.
He knows every twist that’s supposed to unfold on these blood‑stained training grounds: the duels at dawn, the dungeon expeditions, the miraculous power‑ups that were meant to fall into the protagonist’s hands. And Rio wants all of them.
He doesn’t want to save the world. He doesn’t want to babysit the destined hero. He wants to live, and live well, even if that means ripping every “main character moment” away from the person the story was written for. If the plot breaks, if the timeline warps, if villains appear too early or never arrive at all—so be it.
No oaths of justice. No tidy obedience to the script. No flock of admirers trailing after him.
Just one selfish extra, armed with foreknowledge and a ruthless will, clawing his way up through an academy built to celebrate someone else. And every chance he steals leaves another crack running through the story that was never meant to be his.
