The Growth of a God
Synopsis
Li Hao wakes up with dragon blood on his hands and no idea how he survived.
The creature had tried to crawl into his bones, to wear his body like a fresh skin. In the struggle, something in him cracked open. The dragon died—and left something behind.
By day, Li Hao is just a young man trying to make sense of a life that no longer fits. His shadow feels heavier. The air tastes faintly of ash and thunder wherever he goes. People glance at him, then look away, sensing a wrongness they can’t name.
By night, the wrongness becomes a doorway.
Every time he falls asleep, he drops into a vast, unfinished world—empty sky, raw continents, seas still cooling from ancient fire. This is the inner realm the dragon had been building for itself, a hidden cradle for a future dominion. Now it answers to him.
On its bare soil, the first sparks of life begin to move. Tiny tribes gather around the warmth of volcanoes. Creatures crawl out of nameless oceans. Winds carve songs into stone. From the dark, the earliest myths of a newborn civilization start to form—and Li Hao is the unseen presence shaping them.
With a careless thought, a river changes course. With a moment of anger, mountains crack. Each choice he makes before dawn becomes law for the beings who will one day call this place their only home.
As their stories rise, so does he, step by uncertain step, into something the world has no word for—a god who remembers what it was to be prey.
