Gong Xue’er chuckled and replied, “I will indeed return the photo to you. I mean, nowadays, the photo in Haotian’s wallet is of both of us anyway. As long as you come with me tonight and help me persuade Gu Qichen to agree to an interview, I’ll give you back the photo.”

In the end, Xia Yangyang had to compromise. Because the photo was now in Gong Xue’er’s hands, she felt utterly disgusted.

Triumphant, Gong Xue’er said, “Go fetch the equipment. We should try our best to interview Gu Qichen tonight. Even if we can’t, filming the engagement banquet meticulously arranged by the Gu Family would also make headlining news.”

The reason Gong Xue’er insisted on taking Xia Yangyang along was firstly to confirm whether Xia Yangyang and Gu Qichen truly had nothing going on between them.

Secondly, Gong Xue’er knew that she didn’t have enough influence to persuade Gu Qichen to agree to an interview. But Xia Yangyang was different. She was a well-known heiress in Feng City who had interned under Gu Qichen. There were two black-suited security guards at the carved gate. Guests who drove over needed to roll down their car windows and show their invitations before they could drive in.

Only Xia Yangyang and Gong Xue’er had arrived by taxi, so they had to get off and walk to the big gate.

Gong Xue’er took out her invitation. The security guard took a glance and said, “The invitation is fake, ma’am, please leave.”

Gong Xue’er contended, “Impossible. I was invited by your master. Why are you saying my invitation is fake?”

While Gong Xue’er was arguing with the security guard, Xia Yangyang walked over, took a look at the invitation, and confirmed, “It’s indeed fake. The Gu Family’s invitations have Gu Shengyuan’s unique seal in the lower right corner, and this one doesn’t.”
