Chapter 129: Chapter 80: Cavern Thunder Scripture, Entrance (5k)
As Gan Tang moved forward, the other Great Zombies remained silent, following behind her.
Stepping into the camp, everyone inside instantly halted where they were and fell silent together.
Cai Qidong only walked to a spot a few meters away, gave a bow, and didnât say a word.
He had originally thought that Fuyu Mountain would send a few Hundred-Battle Haired Zombies this timeâafter all, Fuyu Mountainâs Haired Zombies were always the real bruisers.
Heâd even been counting on Qin Kun to put in a word or two, hoping the arriving Great Zombies might cooperate a little.TĘe source of this á´ontent ÉŞs Nová´lFirená´t
But looking at how things stood now, he hurriedly decided to drop it.
Letâs just cooperate with them and be done with it.
He wasnât thick-skinned enough to ask a Flying Zombie with ancient seniority and towering status even in Fuyu Mountain to go along with their plan.
They say among the Three Mountains and Five Ridges, especially those with ancient lineages, the depth of heritage is truly something to beholdâand this time, Cai Qidong was seeing it with his own eyes.
No wonder Fuyu Mountain had fallen generation after generation to its current state; while the other big mountains might mock them with a few words, none had ever seriously proposed stripping Fuyu Mountain of their right to impart the talisman.
"A starved camel is still bigger than a horse"âthereâs some real truth in that old saying.
Those hotshot upstarts whoâve been making noise the past few decades? Sure, theyâre loudmouths... but when an extinction-level crisis hits a Mountain Sect, itâs the old, "faded" sects like Fuyu Mountain that just flat-out move the goalposts.
Even if Fuyu Mountain has only this one Flying Zombie left, that alone puts them on a whole other level.
Even the weakest of the t0 tier is way stronger than anything below.
Gan Tang, with affectionate familiarity, took Wen Yanâs hand and led her further in, all the while finely attuning herself to everything around them.
"This generationâs divine skills... honestly, pretty different from before, much stronger.
You can ignore the rest, but the one actually wielding the divine skills hereâyouâll still have to deal with them yourselves."
Wen Yan blinked.
"Aunt Gan, I donât get it."
"If I stepped in directly, your odds of winning would actually get worse. Youâll see what I mean once you get there."
Gan Tang held Wen Yanâs hand and walked, step by step, into the pool.
Uncle and the other male Deformed Corpse followed right behind, entering the pool as well.
Once inside, Wen Yan felt a strange power flow from Gan Tangâs handâchillingly cool, yet none of that smothering, breathless sensation of being underwater touched him.
As that force rippled outward, it turned into a bubble, enveloping them all inside.
The bubble dragged them along, traveling through the deep sea with no guidance needed, and somehow, never getting lost.
"Water connects to all thingsâthis place, so Iâve heard, used to be a node where water veins converged.
Back then, water and earth had separate authorities; what was on land belonged to land, what was in the water belonged to water.
Now, to think not a single soul is left guarding this convergence point of water veins..."
"The sea turns into mulberry fields; things change, people move onâeven the old Water Monarch and Yellow River God are nowhere to be seen."
"But since even I could awaken, Iâd wager theyâre still around somewhere."
"Just remember, donât ever set foot in the Yellow River or the Huai River from now on."
"Uh..." Wen Yan had a bad feeling. "Aunt Gan, is there, like, a reason for that?"
"Itâs not a big deal, just... back in the Thirteenth Generation, they managed to piss off the Water Monarch, then pissed off the Yellow River God tooâsome...rather unpleasant history. If either of them ever wakes back up one day, theyâll probably take it out on you."
Wen Yan figured that was probably unlikely; after all, how would those guys know who he was?
Still, since it was his elderâs advice, he obediently agreed.
"Understood, Aunt Gan. I wonât go near either river in the future."
He had no idea just how many things Fuyu Mountainâs Thirteenth Ancestor did in that short, wild life; all he knew was, judging by the fallout, that old guy was anything but stiff and old-fashioned.
In todayâs parlance, he was pretty much a wild card.
Before long, a shimmer of light appeared on the waterâs surface overhead.
Gan Tang guided them in the bubble, floating up and out of the poolâtheyâd arrived within the chemical plantâs domain.
The place was already utter chaosâaround the pool, tons of equipment lay broken, and members of Scorching Sun Department were strewn all over the ground.
Qin Kun was blazing with Yang Energy, flames seemingly roaring from him. Off a hundred meters away, the zombie tide stretched as far as the eye could see; he stood alone, eyes shut, and the pile of zombies heâd felled was already as high as a building.
Gan Tang surveyed the scene, brows knit slightly.
"To use the corpses of fallen warriors like thisâutterly lawless."
Gan Tang trod on thin air, as if climbing invisible steps, floating midair, her gaze sweeping the endless zombie horde. She clapped her hands lightly.
Two crisp claps, yet they exploded like thunderâreverberating instantly across the entire Domain.
Immediately, within the surging corpse tide, every Walking Dead and Hopping Corpse halted on the spot as if frozen.
At the rear of the horde, two White-haired Zombies in red hard hats bared their fangs and snarled, refusing to stop.
"No sense of rules, Ah Fu," Gan Tang said, visibly displeased.
The male Deformed Corpse whoâd been following closely behind instantly vanished from sight.
Three seconds later, the Deformed Corpse suddenly appeared behind those two White-haired Zombies, each of their heads dangling from his hands.
Ah Fu casually tossed the two hard-hat-covered heads to the ground and turned to head back.
Only once he returned to stand behind Gan Tang did the headless White-haired Zombies ignite from the inside out, reduced to charred corpses in an instant.
At this point, Qin Kun, who had kept his eyes closed all this time, finally turned his head and bowed.
"Junior Qin Kun, greets Senior."
"Senior Brother Qin, are you alright?"
"Iâm fineâthe Fake Mo Zhicheng came in earlier. His ability is a lot stronger than the intel suggested; he even tried to mess with my mind, disrupt my sightâbut after shutting my eyes, he still managed to slip away."
Wen Yan pondered for a moment, edged closer to Qin Kun, and whispered something in his ear.
"Really? I donât believe you."
The next moment, Qin Kun felt his stomach churn, and with a loud retch, vomited violently.
Yet simultaneously, the struggling sensation in his mind was expelled along with the vomit.
He opened his eyes, shot Wen Yan a look, but couldnât help itâhe started throwing up again.
"Senior Brother Qin, that trickâs got some side effectsâbetter not look at me."
