Chapter 366: Run Now
Chapter 366 of "Mated To The Crippled Alpha" opens presenting twists: I sent Lewis a message, asking him what was going on.He didnât reply right away.... Keep following!
I sent Lewis a message, asking him what was going on.He didnât reply right away. I knew he was still on a call, probably dealing with something important, so I tried to be patient. Lewis rarely ignored my messages unless he was in the middle of something serious.
Whitney sat quietly beside me in the back of the wedding car. Her hands rested neatly on her knees, her posture straight and composed. But the look on her face wasnât what you would expect from a bride on her wedding day. There was no glow of excitement, no nervous smile, and none of the soft happiness most brides carried.
She just looked calm.
Almost too calm.
Riley, on the other hand, was completely different.
She was playing with Whitneyâs bouquet, turning the flowers around in her hands while smiling brightly. It was her first time riding in a wedding car, and the excitement clearly showed in her eyes. Every now and then she leaned closer to the window to peek outside, her curiosity written all over her face.
Only I sat there feeling restless.
My chest felt tight, and my instincts wouldnât settle no matter how hard I tried to calm myself. Something felt wrong, though I couldnât explain why. I kept glancing down at my phone, waiting for Lewisâs reply.
A few minutes later, my phone finally rang.
"Elena," Lewisâs voice came through the line. "Wisteria has appeared."
My whole body went stiff.
"Where is she?"
"She just got off the plane. My people received the entry alert," he said calmly. "Sheâs still at the airport, and Iâve already sent someone there."
Wisteria.
The woman responsible for my death.
Back then, everything had started with family revenge. Hatred had spread from one person to another like poison. But now things were different. Wisteria had lost her child and the man she loved. That loss had twisted her hatred into something darker and more dangerous.
She didnât just hate one family anymore.
She hated everyone.
The situation was clear now.
Even if the Hale twins were still alive, I no longer held grudges against them. Amber had once tried to kill me in exchange for her own survival, but now she no longer had the strength or the opportunity to do so.
The Blackwell brothers had never intended to target me either.
That left only two real threats.
Wisteria.
And her father.
The Blackwell father and daughter didnât even know about my rebirth. Only Amber and her two sons knew the truth, and they had kept that secret hidden from the rest of the Blackwells.
Still, Lewis had always seen Wisteria as the greatest danger to me.
If she disappeared, the biggest threat in my life would disappear with her.
Earlier, I had quietly asked Yael about her. Back in Snowville, Wisteria had already cut ties with Vito. Not only usâeven the Blackwell brothers had no idea where she had gone.
So the fact that she suddenly appeared in Jaford today was far too suspicious.
"Where is she going?" I asked quietly.
"From the direction sheâs heading, it looks like sheâs going to the wedding venue," Lewis replied. "Elena, donât worry. I wonât let her escape. Stay with Whitney. Iâll come to the ceremony once this is handled."
I knew what that meant.
Lewis planned to deal with Wisteria himself.
"Carl... be careful," I said softly.
"Okay."
The call ended.
Outside the car window, Jaford looked beautiful that morning. Flowers filled the streets, blooming in every color imaginable. It almost looked like a grand floral competition, each flower proudly showing itself beneath the blue sky and soft white clouds.
Petals swayed gently in the warm breeze.
My misfortune had started with Wisteria.
Maybe today, at Whitneyâs wedding, everything would finally end with her too.
Just then, my phone buzzed again.
This time it was an unknown number.
I answered it immediately.
"Elena!"
Vitoâs anxious voice came through the speaker.
"The person I arranged has been replaced. The driver of the main wedding car isnât my man. Lewis and I are both being delayed, and Yael is already on the way. No matter what happens, you must find a way to stop that car!"
His words crashed into my mind like thunder.
For a moment, everything inside me went completely silent.
There was no time to yell at him or question how something like this had happened. I also had no reason to doubt him. Vito loved Whitney too much to joke about something like this.
I forced myself to stay calm.
"Okay," I said quietly. "I understand. Carl will come when he finishes."
But inside my head, everything was racing.
Behind the main wedding car were sixteen escort vehicles. Vito had arranged them earlier as protection.
Sixteen cars.
Eighty people.
And now he was telling me none of them were his men.
The situation sounded completely insane, like something straight out of a novel.
Whitney and Riley had no idea what was happening.
I looked down at myself.
I was wearing a simple white cocktail dress, nothing flashy. Thankfully, ever since Yael had taken me away before, I had gotten used to carrying protection.
Strapped against my thigh, hidden beneath my dress, was the dagger Lewis had given me.

The driver continued steering the car smoothly.
But something felt wrong.
Every few seconds, his eyes flicked toward us through the rearview mirror.
When my gaze met his, my heart tightened.
Those eyes...
They were the eyes of someone who had taken lives before.
Cold.
Unfeeling.
It wasnât like Lewisâs natural arrogance or distant pride. Lewisâs presence was powerful, but it wasnât empty. His gaze always carried intention, emotion, something alive beneath the surface.
This manâs gaze was different.
It reminded me of Silas.
Someone whose heart had long turned to stone.
There was no obvious killing intent in his eyes right now, but I knew something instinctively.
If he decided to kill someone, he wouldnât hesitate for even a second.
Who was he?
Who could have replaced all of Vitoâs men so perfectly?
Amber?
No.
If Amber truly wanted me dead, she could have ordered her guards to kill me that night. Whitney wouldnât have survived until today either.
Wisteria was still at the airport.
So could it be...
Wisteriaâs father?
No matter who it was, my mind began racing through every possibility.
And then Rileyâs cheerful voice suddenly broke through my thoughts.
"Elena," she said happily, "be careful not to step on Whitneyâs wedding dress!"
