Chapter 409: Soul Energy
Chapter 409 of "Power of Runes" kicks off revealing secrets: Forcing himself to not think about his dragon, Ash drew in a long breath and... Keep reading!
Forcing himself to not think about his dragon, Ash drew in a long breath and mentally shoved that dangerous line of thought into the deepest corner of his consciousness. Panicking over something he could not confirm would only make him spiral, and he had already spent enough time imagining worst case scenarios. Thus, he turned his focus back to the status window once again,
Ash continued to scroll down, and read everything one by one, carefully taking in each notification instead of rushing through them, when he finally finished seeing all his notifications, he sighed with relief as the faint glow of the status window reflected in his steady eyes.
That took quite a lot of time...
Ash thought inwardly, feeling a slight mental fatigue from processing every single change without skipping anything, because he knew that overlooking even one detail could cost him later.
His thoughts wandered towards the first light of creation, and this time the memory felt clearer and heavier in meaning.
He knew what that was. It was the same light or aurora that washed over his soul and strengthened it, filling him with a warmth that had felt ancient and absolute.
He still remembered that light that filled his vision, it was now caged in his memories and will remain like that.
Back then, he had only felt the power of it on his soul, a steady reinforcement that made him feel more solid and more real within the Soul Space. He had not sensed any danger, nor had he imagined that it was doing anything beyond strengthening his spiritual foundation.
To think that something like that would cause so many mutations in his body was not something he had expected.
He had assumed it would enhance him in a straightforward way, perhaps refine his limits or push them slightly further, but not dismantle what he was and reconstruct him from the inside out.
Being said and done, he still did not find out the reason behind the presence of energy inside his Soul Space, and that unanswered detail continued to linger at the back of his mind no matter how much he tried to ignore it.
The energy was quite unfamiliar to his senses, subtle yet undeniably present in the atmosphere around him, thus without further ado he used his ’Eye of Omniscience’ to see what that energy was.
And to his surprise, it was....Soul Energy.
He should have guessed it at first glance, if not Soul Energy what could it even be? After all he was inside his Soul Space, and there was no other logical source for such energy unless something external had interfered, which clearly had not happened.
He checked the stats of Soul Energy and they had indeed increased to 300. Previously they were only 150, a number he remembered clearly.
An increase of double.
Though he had no idea why his Soul Energy had increased so much, he could only blame it on his body Formation, since that was the only drastic process that had taken place recently.
Then seeing how many times First Light of Creation had acted, washing over him repeatedly without restraint, Ash guessed it might have unknowingly increased his Soul Energy and its density as a side effect of strengthening his foundation.
Still, the energy was not dense and remained very thin in the atmosphere, almost like a faint mist that barely brushed against his senses, but at least there was some energy present, and that alone gave Ash a quiet sense of hope for the future.
Maybe in the future, Soul Space can generate other energies too???
The thought lingered for a moment before he slowly shook his head, dismissing speculation for now. Ash closed his eyes as he wanted to organize his mind into a better state, allowing his thoughts to settle instead of running in different directions.
A few days passed within the Soul Space as Ash finally organized and planned everything he had to do, arranging his priorities carefully so that he would not waste the advantages he had just gained.
When he was done, he went to check on Eric.
Seeing that he was still asleep and showing no signs of waking up anytime soon, Ash decided not to disturb him and instead began to ponder over his weapon art.
To be honest, Ash only wanted to create a basic framework of his weapon art. As long as the initial phase was established with a clear structure and philosophy behind it, he believed that as time passed, as he faced various enemies and adversaries, and as he witnessed new techniques and real combat situations, his art would naturally evolve and refine itself.
One real fight equals thousands of hours of practice...
And he was also wondering, now that the limits placed on him has been removed and he is classless, can’t he just use other weapons?
