Chapter 124

I shudder at her embrace, her hands hold me tightly as if to prevent me from running away.

"What did you think of my poem, Zephyra? Is it better than the flowers?" She asks gently as I feel her face rubbing against my back while she inhales deeply.

The fear I feel is indescribable, I have never witnessed such unbridled violence, and I have never been so afraid of a being before.

"Answer me," Her tone that was gentle a moment ago has turned serious in an instant.

"Y-Yes... i-it was incredible..." I say, frightened, my voice trembling with fear. The meaning of the poem is quite obvious, she came after me, made me suffer because I rejected her, and then killed everyone here just to show me her love.

A sickly love that was my fault, I always thought my ability was flawed, I never imagined that the demon king was just waiting, this dangerous monster was just waiting until I was drowning in pain and despair.

I look at her with at least a little relief, knowing that I won’t die has its own comfort, even if minimal.

"I-I see... w-what will you do then?" My mind is spinning with thoughts of escape, I need to get away from this monster, I need to find help urgently, I need to talk to my father... if he’s still alive.

"!!!" I start running, I don’t know what she’ll do when the time is up, I’m scared, I’m so afraid of her, I can hear her voice counting the numbers as I run through the sea of blood.

I fall into the blood, stumbling over a body, but I quickly get up and run, the fear that previously paralyzed me is now combined with adrenaline, pushing me forward.

I turn a corner and soon hear a humming.

’I-It won’t work’ I look for a place to hide, soon I see a fruit stall, I run under it and hide, the desperation making me forget that I don’t know any hiding techniques and that my mana is easily detectable.

"Hmm...uhhmm...hmmmm" Soon I hear footsteps, the sound of footsteps in the midst of all this blood is easily audible, I hold my breath as if that would help me hide.

I see her dress passing in front of the stall, the same dress from the night I rejected her, I cry, a silent and desperate cry, I’m so afraid.

"Hmmm...La la lala...la lala la la la...la la lala...lalala la lala" She starts humming while walking through this street, the sound causing chills down my spine, it’s so beautiful but so frightening.

I feel my blood freeze as if my bones were about to freeze from fear, the sound is like the death melody heard before the end, a beautiful and serene sound, but disturbing and bizarre.

Soon I hear the footsteps fade away, the melody slowly becoming more distant, I come out from under the stall and look around, frightened, the same bloody scene as before.

’I-I have to escape...’ She’s playing with me, and it’s disturbing, I take advantage of the fact that I know the geography of the place and go to an exit, but as soon as I arrive, I stop, seeing several dorsal fins in the blood circling around the exit.

I run to another exit, being careful not to make too much noise in the blood, I start to feel dizzy from running so much while constantly smelling this nauseating scent.

The smell of death in the environment is bizarrely horrifying, while the scene of carnage makes my mind imagine what the demon king will do to me if she catches me?

Her laughter haunts my mind, her maniacal laughter and her red eyes with a sickly obsession terrify me, I never thought that by making her fall in love with me, I would end up in this situation.

When I reach another exit, it’s the same thing, it’s also being protected by something that’s diving in the blood, I’m not a fighter and I don’t know how strong these things are, so I don’t have the courage to challenge them.

I try to go to another place but I fall and sink up to my waist, a hole in the road covered in blood made me get even dirtier, my appearance is a complete mess from all the blood on my body.

The stench of iron and death bothers my nose like never before, since I haven’t used much of my sight, my other senses are more sensitive, and it’s the smell that bothers me.

I was going to try to get out of the hole when.

"La la la...lala la la...la...la...la la la la...la la..." I hear her humming again, the same disturbing melody I heard moments ago.

’S-She’s close, I-I don’t have time to escape.’ I sink my whole body into the hole and hold my breath as I hear her footsteps.

"La la...la...lala la...la..." She’s close, disturbingly close, I close my eyes because I’m submerged in blood, I feel disgusting and scared, not a very good combination.

"Pfff...hihihi..." I hear a little giggle, soon the footsteps stop, the demon king has stopped for a moment.

Soon I hear the demon king speak, her voice too close to this hole.

"Sharks... if Zephyra tries to escape... devour her legs... after all, they’re not such an important part." She speaks to something, but the content scares me, she loves me? This is how she shows her love?

"La la...la...lala la la la..." She resumes humming as she walks away, the fear and adrenaline still leave me stunned at what is really happening, even though it’s obvious that she is playing with me.

But the desire to escape and the desperation are greater than reason, when combined with the disturbing scenario, logic simply evaporates.

When I no longer hear the sounds, I come up to the surface, breathing with difficulty while spitting out the blood that got into my mouth, now I’m completely soaked in blood.

’F-Flying, maybe I can make it...’ I’ve never tried to fly before, it wasn’t necessary, but now it is.

I try to take on a more draconic form, it’s been years since I’ve done this, but I need to escape.

Soon my wings appear along with a tail, unfortunately my wings are too small to fly while I don’t even have scales over my body to protect me.

’W-Why... why does this happen to me...’ A tail and small wings, that’s all I managed to gain by using all my power and knowledge, the desperation only increases, all I got were two useless appendages that will only get in my way.

And I can’t even get rid of them because it takes time to be able to return to a perfect human form again.

I try to run but the extra weight has reduced my speed, and with the tail, my mobility has declined because I don’t have good control.

"I got you," The demon king hugs me while looking at me with a smile, I freeze with fear as my brain processes the information, I’ve been captured.

"Oh... wings and a tail? That’s new... hmm I think I give it a 10/10, I’ve never played with a girl’s wings before, I wonder what it’s like..." She sniffs my body deeply while my tail struggles.

"You smell... of blood and I like that... your scent is intoxicating, I feel like I could become addicted to it, your natural scent mixed with the blood forms a divine combination."

"Now..." She changes to a serious tone.

"Enough with the games, I’m going to fuck you so hard that you won’t be able to walk for the next few weeks."
