Chapter 472: I Am HereIn the face of Orianaâs overwhelming power, Evanthe chose to channel her energy into averting disaster rather than engaging in arguments with Zaria. Though there was unsettled business between them, now was not the time.
Zaria signaled her people, and together with Zaria, they assisted Evanthe and the others in their efforts.
Meanwhile, grappling with the formidable force of Orianaâs power, Drayce pressed on in his search for his friend. The force was so intense that Drayce had to utilize his own power to cut through it, tirelessly working to locate Arlan.
"She is incredibly strong," Cornelia remarked, concern etched on her face. "Our endurance might have limits."
Aware of the impending struggle, Sierra urged, "Hold on for as long as possible. We can only hope that her human form will eventually betray the extent of her current strength."
Meanwhile, Drayce persevered and eventually found Arlan lying on the ground, his body bloodied and coated in dust. Rushing to his side, Drayce cradled him in his arms, desperately calling out, "Arlan."
There was no response from his friend. Drayce shielded him and Arlanâs body with his powers, ensuring they remained unaffected by the encroaching storm of power they found themselves in.
"You stubborn Dragon, you canât die. Do you hear me? You cannot meet such a pathetic end at the hands of a despicable woman. Do you hear me?"
As Orianaâs power intensified, the malevolent storm devoured everything in its path, inching toward the kingdomâs border, casting a menacing shadow over the lives of the innocent.
"Dray, we might need your help!" Evantheâs urgent shout pierced through the chaotic atmosphere, reaching Drayceâs keen hearing. "We are faltering against her. We need you to wield your power of darkness. Only you possess absolute darkness. We must hold our ground until her human body gives in."
Drayce absorbed the plea from his mother, his eyes locking onto Oriana at the heart of the escalating storm. Her slender form remained motionless, eyes shut, emanating a hellish power of darkness. Jet-black hair billowed around her as the overhead vortex grew more potent, fueled by her relentless energy.
Acknowledging that even his powers might falter against her, Drayce glanced down at Arlan in his arms. "Your mate is losing control over your death. Sheâs on the brink of destruction. Canât you see it?"
As anticipated, there was no response from Arlan.
"Dray, did you hear me?" Evantheâs voice came once more. "You have to help us."
Drayce could also sense the intensity of Orianaâs growing power. He stood up and advanced towards Oriana as he used his power against her to help others, trying to restrict her powers from spreading.
Against the surging power, Drayce cut through with his own abilities, shielding himself, navigating through the powerful storm, he pushed forward.
Approaching Oriana, Drayce sensed her unwavering determination to destroy everything. He pressed on, standing before her.
"Oriana," Drayce called out, but there was no response.
"Iâve brought Arlan to you. Donât you want to take a look at him? Arlan needs you."
"Oriana, you have to stop. You know Arlan is hurt. You need to help him treat his wounds. You are a physician, only you can heal him," Drayceâs gentle tone shifted to a commanding one. "Come back to your senses. You are Oriana and not Esmerray. You are Arlanâs Oriana."
His words fell on the deaf ears as Oriana didnât react to them.
âShe is so strong at this moment. I am afraid even I wonât be able to stop her if her body wonât give up any time soon.â
Everyone was scared that even after long time Orianaâs strength only continued to increase. Everyone wary of her now.
âShe is summoning her power of demoness.â
âWe cannot stand in front of her.â
âSeems like she will end up destroying everything today.â
Everyone was at the brink of losing their strengths in front of this powerful, venegenceful demoness.
Soon there was explosion of that storm and everyone who trying to go against it, was thrown away.
"We lost to her," Sierra spoke in exhausted voice.
Evanthe was equally exhausted and felt defeated. "Sierra, you must know any other solution. We need to stop her."
"She is at the peak of her power. We cannot stand her, no one among us can stop her unless she stops on her own accord or...."
Drayce held his ground though he was pushed back and watched Orianaâs power turning fierce. All he could think was- âI need to get Arlanâs body to safer place."
Drayce moved back and walked towards where he had left Arlan but to his surprise, Arlanâs body was not there.
âWhere is he? Has her powers thrown his body somewhere?â
Drayce started to search around like a mad man while cutting through the stormy power. âArlan, you better be fine.â
Just then Drayceâs sharp hearing senses caught something and he froze in his place only to turn to look at Orianaâs direction.
When everyone had lost the hope to stop Oriana and were gathering their remaining strengths, all of a sudden that storm stopped.
"What happened?" was the only question they had and looked at Orianaâs direction only get a shock of their lives.
The storm dissipated, turning everything quiet, revealing Oriana standing before the man, her attention solely on his form.
When Oriana was at the peak of her powers and going to use the last blow of her powers to destroy everything, a voice reached her ear.
"Oriana."
The woman who could feel or hear nothing, heard it. Her closed eyes wavered and brows furrowed.
"Oriana. You have to stop."
A hand touched her cheek, gently caressing it, "I am here."
She opened her eyes slowly. Her eyes, now showing a flicker of emotion, reflected a moment of recognition. Her raised hands, poised for destructive magic, dropped. Taking a step closer, her gaze remained locked on Arlanâs face. The storm around them had stopped.
"Arlan," she repeated as barely a whisper, as though the name held the entirety of her world.
The pair of ocean blue eyes looked at her new form- the pair of red eyes and those jet black hair, but he knew she was the same woman he loved despite her different appearance.
He moved closer to lessen the distance between them, and continued to caress her cheek, "I am here for you, Oriana."
Her eyes finally showed her deep emotions as tears rolled down them, her red eyes retuning back to their original Hazel color as if she was regaining her senses. She opened her mouth to say something but before that she lost her consciousness.
Arlan held her immediately and secured her in his tight embrace. His arms holding her as if he would not let her go ever. He caressed her head as he watched her Jet black hair changing their colour to its original red blond colour, her beautiful hair just the way he always liked them.
Everyone around were shocked but relieved to see Arlan was back. At the same time they were curious to know how? What protected Arlan from the divine weapon?
