Chapter 15 of "'Til Forever" starts revealing surprises: “You don’t think we can afford a gender reveal?” Wilde questioned making me chuckle.“Hell no... Read on!
“You don’t think we can afford a gender reveal?” Wilde questioned making me chuckle.
“Hell no I don’t think that. You could be Bill Gates, and I’d still say we could spend that money on something else. I don’t even really want a baby shower. This is my second time around, and I want things more chill and laid back. Planning the reception and running in behind two kids will keep me more than occupied.”
Wilde bobbed his head. I knew since he was no longer engaging in illegal activities, that he worried about his money drying up. My accounts were good so if anything happened, and he couldn’t hold us down, I could do so for at least a year ifnot two. His phone screen lit up, and he glanced over at it. It was after business hours, and it was his personal phone, so he didn’t hesitate to take a peek. I watched as his brows furrowed. With a confused expression, Wilde picked the phone up and unlocked it. My food was so damn good, I took my time chewing the delicious shrimp while observing my husband. Damn. My husband.
“Yo,” he stated slowly while looking more perplexed than ever. “This shit has got to be cap. I got a DM from a nigga, and his page says he’s a movie producer. I go to the joint and dude has over 600,000 followers. Looking at his posts, he has indeed directed movies that are showing on Tubi, Prime, Zeus, and a few other platforms.”
I sat up in my seat. “What did the dm say?”
“That he’d be interested in working with me to turn a few of my books into either movies or television shows.” His head finally lifted, and he looked at me in awe. “This can’t be legit.”
“Message him back and see.” I urged. I knew a person couldn’t believe everything they saw on the internet, but if his page looked legit prayerfully the message was too.
I could understand Wilde not wanting to get his hopes up. I wanted success so badly for my man because he put his family first and left the fast money alone no matter how uncomfortable it was for him. I’d always appreciate him for that.
I smiled as his fingers typed a response. Wilde placed the phone down and chuckled. “Don’t get excited, G. You know people be full of shit. I’m not thirsty enough to hand my shit over for pennies or on some dumb shit.”
I bobbed my head. “And whatever you do, I’ll support it. But this is big. At least smile.”
“I’ll smile when I see that it’s real with no strings or bullshit attached.”
“See,” I danced in my seat. “Wifing me is bringing you good luck already.”
“My luck has been good since the day I blackmailed your pretty ass.”
EPILOGUE
Fifteen months later….
“This nigga would be late to his own funeral,” Wilde mumbled.
“Relax,” I urged placing one hand on his chest. “There he is.” I jerked my head in the direction that I saw Pierre walking in. He was accompanied by a pretty dark-skinned woman that had to be at least 5’9 with her heels on, and she was built like a stallion.
Wilde relaxed and as Pierre neared, he gave him a pound. We were at the premiere of Wilde’s movie. The DM he got had indeed been legit and a guy by the name of Derek offered Wilde seven figures to turn one of his books into a movie and one into a television series with the first season airing nine episodes. Wilde only agreed to it if he could be hands on in the process, and Derek was down.
He was a cool ass nigga from Chicago that really wanted to see black people win. He was great at what he did and produced quality products that made him very successful. Wilde offered Pierre a role in the projects because he really wanted the man out of the streets. Derek paired Wilde and Pierre with an acting coach and my man was starring in the projects as well. Wildenever liked too many eyes on him, so he wasn’t playing any major roles, but he was there just the same.
From the money Wilde paid Pierre, he was able to leave illegal activities alone for good. He had bought a house, two cars, and shared joint custody with Nina. The attention and money were going to his head just a little. Pierre was still a whore, but he had mostly changed for the better. Speaking of Nina, as I was saying hello to Pierre’s date, Nina and her date approached. After the situation with Nine, she swore off men for a little second, but she was dating a dentist, and I really liked him for her. God had shown me more than once that He could in fact work miracles, but I had more proof of that when Nina and Pierre greeted one another and their dates with friendly smiles.
After a few photos, we all headed inside. There was a wonderful turn out and when a few entertainers and athletes introduced themselves to Wilde, I had to remind myself not to appear starstruck. The book that the movie was based on had been doing numbers since the trailer for the movie was released. In fact, it had done so good that a few people had reached out to Wilde about a traditional publishing deal. He was on the fence about it because the month before, the book made him $29,000 off Amazon alone. He was wondering if it would be a bad thing to allow someone else to get a percentage of the profits after it had been hyped up by the movie. A traditional publisher would have never given him the time of day before but of course, they wanted to come along and ride the wave.
Our lives had literally changed overnight. Wilde went from being concerned about not having enough money to us being more than straight. Willow lived with us. The judge sentenced Misha to thirteen months in jail, and Wilde hadn’t taken Willow to visit her once. She had started calling me mommy like Wylder did, and I was fine with that. Wilde also had money in the bank for the kids that they earned because he gave them all rolesin the TV series. Even our three-month-old, Wynn had made some appearances. Life was amazing. Wilde had asked me to be his manager and of course, I agreed. Because I was busy with helping him and the kids, I only took five clients a month when it came to wrapping cars. I never wanted to give that up, but I was easing into doing other things.
“This shit is fucking crazy, G.” Wilde whispered to me after he took a picture with his favorite rapper.
“I’m so proud of you. So fucking proud.” I meant every word of it.
Wilde smiled and held out his pinky. “How long you gon’ rock with a nigga?”
“’Til fucking forever,” I cheesed while hooking my pinky onto his. My man proceeded to tongue me down like there weren’t hundreds of people around, and I didn’t mind one freakin’ bit.
