Chapter 101: 25. Princess carryThe drunken man’s pudgy face turned in an instant and caught sight of Fisher. He was about to reveal a lecherous grin when suddenly his expression changed, becoming deathly pale as if he’d seen something inconceivable.

"Mother... Mother Goddess’s favor... you have the Mother Goddess’s favor on you!"

Fisher furrowed his brows, momentarily not grasping the meaning behind the other’s words. Was there something special about him?

The first thing he thought of was the Demi-human Girls Completion Manual, but this magical artifact seemed to have nothing to do with the "Mother Goddess’s favor" the man mentioned...

But the situation on-site didn’t allow Fisher time to think further, as the man was staring at Fisher with crazed intensity, as if he wanted to devour him,

"Impossible! Impossible! You’re a man! How could you possibly have received the Mother Goddess’s favor! Tell me! How did you do it!! Speak up!!"

He raised his hands and lunged toward Fisher with sudden violence, but before Fisher could react, Alagina behind him had already firmly grabbed his shoulders and with a heavy drop of her body, she hurled the plump man over with a perfect arc, landing him behind herself.

"Dian Dian One, you can go back now."

"Chirp chirp!"

The rat hiding behind the table heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing Fisher’s words, saluted him, and then scurried away on all fours. Fisher closed the tavern’s door and, with a glance, signaled the trembling tavern owner behind him to also quickly leave; the owner then scurried out the rear window.

"Get lost, you mannish woman!"

"Alagina, be careful!"

The man who had been thrown to the ground ignored the nearby Alagina, and with a bulky roll, he pushed Alagina aside and, heedless of all else, charged at Fisher.

Fisher’s eyes narrowed sharply, and he quickly thrust his hand cane before him to block the man’s deadly blubber assault. The dragon-man’s powerful physique allowed him only to take a single small step back, meanwhile holding his cane firmly against the man’s chubby face.

"You won’t talk? Why not? The Mother Goddess’s favor should be shared selflessly, you damn selfish ghost! Let me, Bart from the Witch Research Association, teach you what sharing means!"

"I don’t have the Mother Goddess’s blessing, have you taken one too many bumps to the head?"

"Impossible! It’s too obvious! Still want to deceive me?"

The portly man before him clenched his teeth fiercely, and the Magic Circuits throughout his body started to glow, and as Fisher had guessed, this person was indeed an Artificial Witch from the Witch Research Association. The man’s body shone with layers of deep purple, vast Magic Circuits, but their shape and some parts’ colors were human, the entire Magic Circuit seeming like a strange mixture.

According to the theories of Magic Circuit soul origins, the man must have employed some technique to transform a human soul towards the nature of a witch, but Fisher was not yet clear on how it was done.

The moment the Magic Circuits lit up across the man’s body, everyone present felt the gravity around them intensifying manyfold. Fisher’s brow furrowed as he felt his body being pulled down by the weight of his usually light clothes, quickly leaving two deep imprints on the wooden floor.

Glancing around, he saw that Alagina and the pirates beside her were similarly affected.

In front of him, Bart began to laugh wildly, his obese body becoming incredibly light as if weightless, floating in the air. He waved his fists, ready to launch an attack on Fisher at any moment.

The witch’s trait, reverse gravity.

Within the affected range of the witch’s trait, gravity applied an inverse force on mass, making the heavier things lighter and the lighter things heavier.

Could Artificial Witches mimic even the witches’ traits?

The other pirates and patrons by now had all collapsed to the ground, at any moment liable to sink into it, while Fisher felt his clothes and hand cane weighing him down like a thousand pounds, the belt of his trousers barely holding onto his hips.

Gritting his teeth, he let go of the heavy hand cane which instantly nailed itself into the ground like a stake. He raised his hand to block a ferocious blow aimed at his head from Bart.

"Bang!"

A tremendous force knocked Fisher back several steps, but Bart, unrestricted, began to flail his limbs wildly, launching a frenzied assault on Fisher.

Just as the next punch was about to reach Fisher’s forehead, a piercing cold air swept over all those present.

Bart felt a chill in his heart and quickly withdrew his fist. The next moment, a sharp ice wall erected in front of him, separating him from Fisher—if he hadn’t pulled back, his wrist might have been severed by the ice wall.

Turning, he saw Alagina with a cold expression, holding a slender but frost-glaring thin sword in her hand. The sword, driven into the ground, emanated a chilling aura, extending all the way to the front of the ice wall.

Bart Witch opened his mouth, his drunkenness faded considerably, and it was only then, as Alagina drew the thin sword, that he recognized the tomboy before him as the Iceberg Queen, one of the Four Great Pirates.

There was no other reason: the thin sword in her hand was the Feudal King of Sardinia Female Country’s hereditary relic—the Ice Prince, a weapon able to create solid ice from nothing and possessing an endless cold, also the most iconic item of the Iceberg Queen.

"The Four Great Pirates and a blessed child of the Mother Goddess... just what kind of rotten luck did I stumble upon today..."

Bart’s expression became grim, looking coldly at Alagina behind him.

Alagina’s clothes had also been weighted down by countless times due to the Witch’s trait, but the Ice Prince in her hand was exceedingly light. Alagina’s body didn’t move, yet her fingers nimbly wielded the thin sword, slashing at Bart, who was levitating in mid-air.

Countless ice-cold slashes madly descended upon Bart, and due to his particular trait, the slashes accelerated, making them difficult to dodge. Fisher seized the opportunity, abruptly reaching out to grasp Bart’s legs, preventing him from moving. Restricted, Bart was hit by Alagina’s icy slashes and let out a piercing scream.

Seeing the opponent stiffened by the slashes, Fisher’s fingers twitched slightly, snapping his fingers. With the crisp sound, the handcane stuck in the ground also lit up. Sounds as dense as bees buzzed within the confines of the narrow tavern.

That was Fisher’s "Bee Dance." Milky-white, spinning Radiant Blades flew towards Bart from behind. With ice slashes in front and Bee Dance in the rear, the portly Witch found herself besieged by attacks from all sides in mid-air, blood mist bursting from her injuries.

But whether due to the constitution of the Artificial Witch or his sheer corpulence, even after sustaining continuous hits and bleeding profusely, he maintained the ability to move.

"Ah, back off!"

Facing the relentless assault, he roared fiercely, the ring on his finger lighting up with Magic Power again.

Four-Ring Magic— "Radiant Blade!"

The Radiant Blade formed an invisible blade that spun around him, severing both the milky Bee Dance and the icy slashes. The magic amplified by the Witch’s immense Magic Power broke through the offensive of the two and then continued towards Alagina.

Just as she found herself unable to move and dodge in time, the space before her twisted. The Radiant Blade deviated from its intended path, flying along the tavern floor and crashing into the pitch-black cave ceiling outside.

Seven-Ring Magic— "Space Refraction."

Fisher, holding the handcane nailed to the ground, had protected Alagina, who was rooted in place.

"Damn you, dare to touch our Captain!"

The chubby Chief Officer sprawled on the floor saw this and his eyes turned red with rage. He bit off the sleeve of his coat, baring his arm, and gripping the firearm at his waist, he fired several shots at the rotund Witch.

"Bang! Bang!"

Multiple sprays of blood mist erupted from Bart’s body, his bright Magic Circuits flickering unsteadily. It was clear he could hold on no longer. He resentfully glanced at Fisher, the Mother Goddess’s Blessed so close at hand, but he also realized he was no match for the combined efforts of several opponents.

He had to escape and bring this message back to the Witch Research Association!

Bart bit his teeth in determination. In the instant before the Witch trait ended, his hand suddenly shone with a deep purple Magic Power aimed at the ground.

Five-Ring Magic— "Explosion."

Fisher had just looked up to see the purple magic flare when a sense of foreboding struck him. He barely had time to move before the magic, so close at hand, spread out, the intense heat and force rushing toward him through the air. With no time left, Fisher could only shield his face with his hand but then suddenly felt himself wrapped in something cold.

Something soft embraced his body, whisking him away from the spot.

"Boom!"

As smoke cleared, Fisher coughed and looked up to find himself in a very awkward position.

Before him, the expressionless Alagina was breathing hard, holding his body aloft and protecting him in her arms. After, once Alagina had lowered her head and confirmed Fisher was unharmed, she put him down somewhat frantically.

"I’m... sorry..."

Fisher’s eyes went dead-fish. Back on the South Continent, he had once held Rafael like this, never imagining that after returning to the Western Continent he would immediately receive payback, cradled in the embrace of the Iceberg Queen.

He silently moved a little away from in front of Alagina, and both of them, faces red with embarrassment, avoided mentioning the incident. Alagina, with flushed ears trying to alleviate the awkward silence, looked in the direction of the exploding smoke where the Artificial Witch was fleeing and said,

"He’s... running away..."

"Don’t worry, he won’t get far."

Fisher responded with a confident smile. His handcane was still planted in the ground, and as he snapped his fingers toward the direction Bart was escaping, the emblem on the handcane lit up layer by layer. Many glittering strands extended from the void, tightly entangling Bart who was attempting to flee.

"Damn! The Spinner! Just you wait! The Witch Research Association will make you regret this... Argh!"

He screamed, but the invisible strands tightened around him, binding him into a huge, cocoon-like mass and fiercely plunging him to the ground. As he glared back unwillingly, Fisher strode over and stomped on his head, silencing his rants.

Fisher’s expression turned icy. Surveying the surrounding chaos, he knew it wouldn’t be long before hordes of underworld figures arrived; the tavern had gang connections.

He picked up the handcane and struck Bart on the head. After his violent scream, Fisher dragged the unconscious Bart and turned to Alagina and her associates,

"We can’t talk here. Follow me."
