Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God - Chapter 204 - So Beautiful It’s Blinding

Chapter 204 - So Beautiful It’s Blinding

Words : 2118 Author : Eternal Night Knight

Chapter 204 of "Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God" opens with: With an abundant supply of deformed monsters as psychic power points, Gaven was not afraid... See what unfolds next!

With an abundant supply of deformed monsters as psychic power points, Gaven was not afraid of facing the Foul Giants one-on-one.Not to mention, this Foul Giant in front of him had no intention of fighting and was focused solely on escaping.

But this was the Dragon Oak Dream Realm, where could he flee to?

Soon, Gaven discovered where the other was trying to run.

The Dragon Oak Dream Realm trembled violently, and a crack opened in the black fog. A powerful force tugged at the Foul Giant, attempting to pull him away from this world.

The other party was employing a resurrection tactic.

By dying, they gathered intelligence from corruption and then revived.

Gaven, who had already seen through the opponent’s plan, how could he let them have their way?

Psychic bullets flowed out like water, striking continuously. Celtwen, who was in a perpetual state of dizziness, had no way to respond to the resurrection call.

Gaven controlled the recoil of his gun and directly kept the newly arrived Foul Giant under control until its death.

As for Celtwen, he was at the pinnacle of frustration; he was just a thread away from escaping.

As long as he answered the call, he could immediately return to his body and bring back the intelligence gathered here.

But the problem was, his head was in such disarray, like a muddled paste, he couldn’t form any effective thoughts, and in the end, without needing to think, he was blasted to ash.

No increase in Charisma!?

Gaven smacked his lips regretfully.

This was also expected.

The same method’s internal attribute increment often only works once, especially with the special nature of the current scenario.

Rather than using the soul essence of this Foul Giant to upgrade the Wolf Fang Dagger, Gaven further enhanced the Terror Claw Longsword. This time there was no shape change, but the blade became more aesthetically pleasing and more solid in form.

Its style, however one looks at it, is very similar to that of the fae race.

After dealing with the battle on his end, Gaven hurried back, and the fight on the other side was also nearing its conclusion.

The two Foul Giants that Gaven had bombarded with so many psychic bullets were already critically injured.

But the most formidable damage came from the psychological torment.

Three Foul Giants combined their strength, and with the support of one more Foul Giant, they still couldn’t withstand the enemy; now only two remained, they didn’t stand a chance.

Taking advantage of the absence of the formidable killer who had them immobilized, fleeing as quickly as possible was the best strategy.

On the battlefield, once the will to fight is lost and one turns to flee, they often become the one to die faster.

The two remaining Foul Giants proved this truth yet again with their actions.

One was actually dragged down to the ground by the smaller Dog Demon, who firmly clutched its deformed right leg, and after falling, the Dog Demon relentlessly attacked its face, without giving it a chance to stand up again, turning it into a nourishing feast.

The other was held back by a joint effort from Stelina, Anna, and Nicole. Although he wasn’t brought down, the Dog Demon had already revealed its fangs and claws, and Gaven was running back; the outcome was inevitable.

Upon his return, Gaven didn’t immediately join the fight but chose to check the attributes of the Dog Demon.

Life Force: 75 (Life Dice: 11D8+27)

Size: Large

Attributes: Strength 20, Dexterity 16, Constitution 17, Intelligence 18, Perception 18, Charisma 19

Spell-Like Abilities: At will—Levitation, Misdirection, Projection Technique.

Once a day—Charm Monster, Charm Human, Anywhere Door, and Extreme Fear.

Special Abilities: Gnawing, Shapechange (Goblin or Wolf type), Pass without Trace, Keen Smell, Damage Reduction 15/+1, Strength Surge (Transcendent strength bonus)

Compared to when he first entered, the Dog Demon’s life dice had increased by two, entering the Transcendent stage.

Without a doubt, this was due to its gnawing ability, which had absorbed the life essence of two Foul Giants.

These two Foul Giants were stronger than it, and even as pure souls, they were enough for the Dog Demon to grow.

The same Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution also increased by one point, which stemmed from the Dog Demon’s own growth.

The added point to Charisma was likely the same as with Gaven, received upon the purification and killing of the first Foul Giant.

Watching as the Dog Demon rushed over, executing a bite and tackle to bring the last Foul Giant down, preparing to launch a new round of attacks to make it part of its power,

Gaven hurriedly shouted, "Keep one alive, keep one alive, I have a use for it."

The Dog Demon’s wide-open mouth forcefully closed again, and after violently clawing the Foul Giant’s hideous head a few times, it jumped away.

With one psychic bullet, Gaven sent this Foul Giant into a dizzy state and said to Nicole, "You attack."

He hadn’t forgotten that this talented Pikespirit girl’s Charisma attribute was just on the brink, and just a bit more would unlock Transcendent rewards for her.

"Me?" Nicole was somewhat taken aback. Compared with Gaven and the Dog Demon, even Stelina, her attacks seemed inconsequential.

The psychic arrows did relatively limited damage.

"Trust me, there’s an extra benefit in this for you." Gaven didn’t spell it out directly but prepared to surprise her with it.

"Alright then." Nicole, still a bit uncomfortable around Gaven, didn’t dare to argue much with him.

She had no choice but to keep shooting with her soul bow.

At first, Gaven could use psychic bullets to help maintain control, but in the end, he didn’t dare use them at all, fearing that he would accidentally send the Foul Giant away, thwarting the effort.

At that time, the Foul Giant was weakened to the extreme.

A single psychic bullet was no longer a mere stutter; instead, the giant lay on the ground immobile for a long time.

Moving became a problem, transforming into a living target for Nicole.

Although many of the laws here are intentionally set to be the same as those in the Material Plane, they are still not the true Material Plane.

The strength of a soul is linked to aspects such as strength and speed.

As the Foul Giants let out their final cries, a dazzling light burst forth from the Pikespirit girl, as if she entered a special state of sublimation, forcefully absorbing the essence of the Foul Giants.

When an attribute enters transcendence, if we’re talking about visual and auditory effects, there’s nothing that can compare to the transcendence of Charisma, because Charisma itself is a manifestation of one’s spirit and appearance, directly influencing the attributes of others.

"Charisma Attribute +1, Charisma transcendence bonus." Nicole screamed excitedly, "Three options, let me choose one, how should I choose?"

This was the first time Nicole faced such a situation, and she was overwhelmingly excited.

"What options, list them out and let’s see." Gaven knew relatively little about the circumstances of Charisma transcendence.

Such an innate attribute is too difficult to enhance; many Magicians, even those who have stepped into the Legendary, have not managed to accumulate Charisma to transcendence.

Most importantly, some transcendence bonuses are personalized, especially skill-related options.

Thus, many are kept secret, after all, it involves personal capabilities and privacy.

The innocent Pikespirit girl clearly didn’t have so many complex thoughts.

She directly displayed the options in textual form above her head.

Charisma Transcendence Rewards (Choose One)

1. Charisma Permanent +2

2. Charisma-Related Professional Level Enhancement: All professions that use Charisma as a casting attribute will have an additional +1 to their Professional Level when casting.

3. Blind Beauty (Supernatural): This ability will continue to be effective. Any humanoid within eighteen meters of the target will be affected. If the affected being looks directly at the target and fails to resist with a Fortitude Saving Throw, they will become permanently blind as if under the effects of a blindness spell. The ability can be suppressed or activated at will by the possessor.

After reading, everyone present hissed in amazement.

Especially the Dog Demon, whose eyes were sparkling with excitement; only now did he realize that he too had gained a bonus to his Charisma attribute after killing the first Foul Giant.

Furthermore, its attribute is closely related to Life Dice. Once it reaches fifteen Life Dice, it will undergo a qualitative metamorphosis, with Intelligence, Perception, and Charisma all surpassing transcendence.

In the past, an increase of four Life Dice would have been very troublesome for the Dog Demon.

Its Gnawing ability might seem capable of granting it infinite evolution.

In reality, it had its significant limitations as well.

At birth, casually gnawing on a Hobgoblin would reward it with one Life Dice.

But now, even if it were to gnaw on hundreds, perhaps even thousands, it still might not gain one, because the life force they provide is too weak relative to its current level. The life force consumed in each act of gnawing is barely equal to what is gained.

Only by gnawing on those of equal or greater strength, especially creatures or Professionals stronger than itself, would the gain from a single act of gnawing be guaranteed.

At a certain level of growth, whether there would be enough powerful beings to gnaw on became one question.

Whether it could defeat them became an even greater problem.

But now, it was less worried.

These Foul Giants didn’t seem to be the end of it, and by their innate monster level alone, they could bring it to thirteen or fourteen Life Dice without a problem.

The rest could perhaps be taken care of by its new master, who might help it hunt, after all, the stronger it was, the more advantageous it’d be for him.

Gaven, unaware of the Dog Demon’s cunning thoughts, was busy helping Nicole weigh the pros and cons.

Transcendence bonuses are the most vexing choices, bar none, for these rewards are tailor-made, extremely practical, and one would want every one of them, reluctant to let any go.

The first option is the essential choice for all attributes, all beings entering transcendence.

Yet this option often ends up being the last choice, selected by the fewest people.

This time was no exception, compared to the other two options, it once again came last.

Undoubtedly, the most formidable was the second option, Charisma-Related Professional Level +1.

The damage of many spells is directly related to the Professional Level.

Take the most commonly used Fireball Technique, for instance, its power is linked to the professional level of the caster.

A sixth-level Magician casting Fireball Technique deals damage of 6d6 (6-36 range), whereas a seventh-level Magician’s damage would become 7d6 (7-42 range), and so on.

Of course, the Fireball Technique itself has an upper limit; the maximum damage is 10d6 (10-60 range). As a result, a tenth-level Transcendent Magician and a twentieth-level Legendary Magician’s Fireball Technique would be equally powerful.

If one were to add a Supermagic Feat on top of this, raising the Spell Slot of the Fireball Technique, that would be another story altogether.

The effect of this option is self-evident.

It allows one’s Spell Power to exceed their current Professional Level.

The example just mentioned of the Fireball Technique has a limit, but many spells do not have a power cap and are solely tied to Professional Level.

Especially when stepping into Legendary, with Professional Level advancements being incredibly difficult, the significance becomes much greater. Google seaʀᴄh ɴo(v)elFɪre.ɴet

If one happens to be a Professional related to Charisma, they would choose this option without hesitation.

But the problem is, Nicole hasn’t unlocked her Professional Level yet, and whether she will ever open a Charisma-related profession remains a question mark.

The third option is also not bad and is very well known.

This is a natural talent of the Naiad, blatant in its power.

To put it in the most straightforward terms, it literally makes beauty blinding.

If this skill were on a Pikespirit, its power would be even better.

She could fully leverage her small size, flying ability, and mastery of Invisibility, to quietly infiltrate a group of warriors or Archers, create a noise to draw all eyes her way, then suddenly reveal herself.

The result would likely be immediate blindness en masse.

"Mr. Gaven, how should I choose?" Nicole looked at Gaven with hopeful eyes. The excitement had now overtaken her inner shyness, and she valued Gaven’s opinion above all others.
