Chapter 229 - Subduing the Dragon Girl
Chapter 229 of "Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God" opens presenting: Bound by the soul totem, she was highly sensitive to Gavenâs aura. Even though he... Donât stop now!
Bound by the soul totem, she was highly sensitive to Gavenâs aura. Even though he wore a fully sealed suit of combat armor, she recognized him at a glance.Shanoba had always believed that time could forget everything, including pain, including fear.
During this period, she hadnât taken the initiative to contact Gaven. The old nun Stephanie watched her closely, which was one reason.
On the other hand, Shanoba subconsciously resisted Gavenâs control.
Moreover, it seemed like Gaven had forgotten about her too, as he never attempted to make contact with her.
But when they reunited, that old fear overwhelmed her soul, as boundless as the sky itself.
Thatâs not right.
The pressure exuding from Gaven had intensified since their last encounter.
In Shanobaâs eyes, Gaven was not merely a man but a towering tree that she could only look up to. In his presence, she felt so insignificant, so helpless.
Any courage to resist that had accumulated in her heart dissipated with just one glance from him.
In his icy stare, Shanoba saw one word: "Run!"
That word translated directly into action, and without hesitation, she turned and bolted.
This time, Gaven didnât use the power of the Dragon Oak Mother Tree to control her; instead, her body reacted instinctively.
The Black Dragoness had fled!
Their leader had turned and fled without a fight!
Without the wyvern to hold them back, how could they confront the Red Copper Dragon?
"The Leader has fled, we canât beat them, run for it!"
"Run woof..."
"Follow the Leader woof..."
The gnolls were the first to react.
Most of the gnolls and goblins werenât particularly bright, sharing about the same level of intelligence.
This bestowed upon them the trait of blind obedience, especially a high degree of blind loyalty to those of draconic bloodline.
When Shanoba, their leader, took flight, they didnât think twice; they dropped everything they were doing and followed.
A portion of the simple-minded goblins, seeing the gnolls flee, also foolishly ran after them.
These two species accounted for over half of the Monster Tribe. Once they stampeded away, leaving only a handful of hobgoblins, orcs, and jackalweres in a dilemma, unsure whether to flee or stay.
To flee meant victory was within grasp, with heaps of goods awaiting them, some of which had already been revealedâshiny weapons and armor, incredibly tempting. á´á´á´ á´á´á´ ę°Ęá´á´ É´ová´l(F)ÉŞre.É´et
To stay meant their leader had fled, and most of their cannon fodder had as well. A ferocious unit of Hobgoblin Wolf Cavalry bore down on them like predators, and they didnât look like theyâd be open to reason.
Hobgoblins, orcs, jackalweres, or even the coachmen and guards from the caravansâany who dared lift a weapon were cut down without exception.
When the Hobgoblin Wolf Cavalry had charged through a third of the caravan, what remained of the Monster Tribe could no longer muster the courage to resist. They left in silence, fleeing even faster than they had arrived.
Realizing he wouldnât have to lift a finger, Gaven turned to the Hobgoblin Warlord and said, "Blood Claw General, Iâll leave this to you. Whether they be humans or monsters, as long as they donât resist, drive them away. Clean up the battlefield quickly and withdraw with the cargo, to prevent any complications. Iâm off to meet an old friend."
Because of undead necromancy and resurrection magic, there was little point in completely annihilating these people. Any Transcendent Archmage could easily extract the information they wanted from them.
Gaven took a Fairy Step, leaping onto Aivensaâs back.
The Young Red Copper Dragon needed no commands and took to the sky chasing in the direction the wyvern had escaped.
After crossing just three mountain peaks, Gaven and company caught up with Shanoba, who had reverted to her true form.
Perhaps she guessed that Gaven would surely pursue her and, knowing she couldnât escape, simply stopped to wait for him, saving Gaven the effort.
With another Fairy Step, Gaven leaped off the Young Red Copper Dragon and approached her, saying, "Keep watch behind and alert me immediately if you see those monsters following."
"Alright." Aivensaâs recent compliance was surprisingly proper. She did exactly as she was told, meticulously; something must have struck a nerve.
Gaven appreciated this, as it made his life much easier.
As Gaven landed, Shanoba was already prostrate on the ground, respectfully saying, "Shanoba greets her master. I havenât completed your task, please punish me, Master."
It was unclear if it was intentional or due to a hasty transformation.
Shanoba was clad only in a loose-fitting garment, the buttons not even properly fastened. As she bowed, it slipped, revealing her smooth back adorned with faint patterns of Red Copper Dragon Scales. Far from diminishing her beauty, it gave her a unique allure, radiating a tempting charm.
Especially now, she exhibited no trace of ferocity or bravery, only fragility and helplessness. Her words and demeanor suggested someone ready to be sacrificedâat Gavenâs mercy.
"Really, any punishment will do?"
Shanoba, hearing the implication in Gavenâs words, shook uncontrollably, her heart pounding wildly. Rather than fear, what surged within her was a yearning. The Giant Dragon Bloodline within her seemed to be boiling.
With a trembling voice, she replied, "Any will do."
Gavenâs eyes flickered for a moment before he sat on a nearby boulder, his combat armor retracted. He patted his knee and said, "Come, sit here."
