Chapter 50 of "Heartbreak Honey" introduces new challenges: Unfortunately, when he gets to Skylerâs house later that evening, heâs still thinking about Oliâs... Keep following!
Unfortunately, when he gets to Skylerâs house later that evening, heâs still thinking about Oliâs disbelief in the idea that he and Skyler can just be friends.
Sure, every time he sees Skyler, he wants to rip off his clothes and shove him up against the nearest surface to ravage him. But the important thing is he wonât actuallydothat, so no one needs to know. Heâs not going to let his wanting more ruin this new friendship theyâve developed.
Skyler wouldnât trust him with more after how badly Trevor hurt him the first time.
Fuck.
He doesnâtdeservemore.
He had more. He had everything with Skyler, and he ran away from it. So what he wants now doesnât matter. All that matters is what Skyler needs from him. And Skyler keeps calling him, keeps inviting him over, keeps asking him to stay well past dinner. He needs a friend, and Trevor can be that for him. He can.
Besides, itâs not like he couldnât use a friend too.
When Skyler opens the door, Trevorâs surprised to see another man standing behind him. âHey!â Skyler greets him, smiling brightly. âSushi got here right before you. Hal brought it up for me. I got some for him too.â
Remembering the name as being one of Skylerâs security guards who lives on the property, he gives the man a wave. âHi. Iâm Trevor.â
The introductionâs likely not necessary, but Hal smiles and reaches out to shake his hand, a small paper bag cradled in his other arm. âNice to meet you.â He glances between Trevor and Skyler before saying, âIâll leave you guys to it,â and stepping past Trevor and out the door.
The way the manâs eyes assessed the two of them stirs a little discomfort in Trevorâs gut. But he reminds himself that Hal works for Skyler. It doesnât matter what he thinks is going on here, because he canât run to the press about it.
Once he and Skyler are settled with their food in front of the TV in the living room, Trevor mentions hanging out with Oli this morning. âHe told me Meganâs pregnant,â he says, dipping a California roll in soy sauce.
Skyler shifts beside him. âI heard. Um⌠are you okay?â
Not this again.
He sighs and sets the roll back on his plate. After his talk with Oli, he knows what Skylerâs getting at. And shit. This isnât a conversation he particularly wants to have, but if theyâre going to be friends now, it would be weird for Skyler not to know the truth.
He has to tell him.
SKYLER
âThere was no baby.â
âWhat?â Skyler asks, confused. âHe told me Meganâs pregnant.â
Trevor shakes his head. âNo, not Megan. Sierra.â
He recoils at the name. âWhat about her?â
âShe was never pregnant. She kind of lied.â
Wait.âWhat do you mean? Youâre seriously sayingâŚâ
âYeah.â Trevor looks down and plays with his sushi roll, pulling off grains of rice one at a time with his chopsticks. âShe um⌠She wasnât pregnant.â
What. The. Fuck.
At hearing the words a second time, his confusion turns to a simmering rage. âThatâs sick! What aââ
âDonât,â Trevor says.
He bites his tongue. Yeah, okay. But heâs still seething.
It was bad enough thinking Sierra got to have Trevor. But Skyler had tried so hard, despite all his heartbreak, to be happy for them. Because he knew how badly Trevor wanted kids. And even though somehow Trevor got it in his head that he could never have that with Skyler, Skyler still wanted it for him.
Now he finds out Sierra⌠what? Tricked him? Howâs he supposed to be okay with that?
