And when Mu Cheng learned that Fourth Miss Zhao had fallen prey to Mu Hanyan’s scheming and had been humiliated in public, he rushed to the Zhao Residence.
"Mu Cheng, how dare you come to see me? You plotted with Mu Hanyan against me, haven’t you caused me enough harm?" As soon as she saw Mu Cheng, Fourth Miss Zhao was furious. "What letter?" Mu Cheng was stunned and forgot to dodge, getting hit in the forehead by a teacup, causing blood to spurt out immediately.
"Still trying to deny it? I’ll kill you, you heartless, ungrateful bastard," Fourth Miss Zhao found a target for her fury, continuing to scream angrily.
"You’ve really misunderstood me. When did I ever write such a letter? Besides, don’t you know how much I loathe Mu Hanyan? I’d rather see him suffer than plot with him against you," Mu Cheng said anxiously, not even bothering to wipe the blood from his forehead as he tried to explain to Fourth Miss Zhao.

I won’t harbor a single complaint," Mu Cheng said, feeling a rush of exasperation upon hearing Fourth Miss Zhao’s skeptical tone. He almost wished he could die on the spot to prove his innocence.
Oh, it seemed that in this world, proving one’s innocence was usually a woman’s concern, but to drive Mu Cheng to such a state showed how skilled Fourth Miss Zhao was at manipulating emotions. With just a few words, she had him this worked up.
