The Witch offered a noncommittal hum, the sound vibrating through the shadows of the room. “And what of our designs for the Western Continent?” she asked, her voice booming with a command that seemed to rattle the very foundations of the sanctum.
“The preparations are complete, Your Divinity,” the General replied, his head bowed so low he could only see the hem of her robes. Like all the other cultists, he dared not meet her gaze. “Our sleeper agents have been planted and remain dormant within every major nation across the continent. We can plunge the entire West into chaos at a moment's notice.”
“It is time we advance with our full force,” she decreed. “Once we have an entire continent under our thumb, securing the Saintess will be a much simpler task. The distractions will keep the eyes turned away from our true prize.”
“We are set to dismantle the Simbala Plains through our influence over the Florea Faith in the coming days,” the General continued. “However, we have learned of a concerning development. One of the Elders of the United Tribes has departed for the Eastern Continent to attend Emperor Andrew’s funeral.”
The Witch turned her gaze toward him, releasing a pressure so sudden and suffocating that the General felt the air leave his lungs.
“Is that truly relevant?” she asked coldly. “If he is merely attending a funeral, then push back that specific strike until his return. The Khan holds no real power; it is the Council of Elders we must erase. Ensure the entire United Tribe leadership is wiped out. See to it personally.”
The General finally managed to take a shuddering breath as the pressure receded. With a deep, submissive bow, he stammered, “Yes... yes, Your Divinity. It shall be done.”

“Emperor Andrew of the Ancorna Empire is dead?”
The question came from a man who appeared to be in his early twenties, possessing striking silver hair that shimmered like moonlight. He wore the opulent, silken robes of the Pope of the Herptian Faith, garments designed less for modesty and more for the celebration of the flesh. The deep-V neckline of his tunic plunged to his waist, held together only by thin gold chains, leaving the Apostle Mark of Herptian on the chest of his clearly visible to all in the room.
“Yes, and it seems his final decree was a direct strike against the Solious Doctrine,” replied one of the Archbishops. She was lounging in a plush velvet chair, her legs crossed. Her attire consisted of translucent lace and strategically placed silk wraps that left a daring amount of skin exposed to the humid air of the sanctum. She idly swirled a lollipop against her lips before continuing, “This is our golden opportunity to back Her Highness Ravenna and finally secure a foothold in the Eastern Continent through Ancorna Empire.”
Another Archbishop, a tall man whose vestments were little more than a sheer sleeveless tunic paired with low-slung leather trousers, tapped a rhythm on the table. “Our properly vetted envoys should be arriving in the Kim Dukedom as we speak. We must establish a formal connection this time. Let’s ensure we give her absolutely no reason to antagonize us again.”
“What is Her Highness’s type?” the Pope asked, his eyes narrowing with a predatory, political focus. “A well-placed political concubine, someone of exceptional beauty and skill would allow us to strengthen our ties through more intimate diplomacy.”
He paused, looking over a stack of reports. “We need more leverage with the Saintess as well. I’ve received word that the Florea Faith has already dispatched a delegation to Ancorna. They are clearly hoping to win the Saintess’s favor before we can solidify our position.”
The Archbishops all raised their eyebrows in unison. The female Archbishop leaned forward, her expression sharpening. “The other Faiths are finally moving? We need to find a way to outmaneuver them. We cannot allow them to establish better connections, even if we currently have the advantage of Her Highness Ravenna being our Apostle. With High Priest James dead, the goodwill he built in Kim City could evaporate at any moment.”
“I shall personally oversee the research into the Kim Dukedom’s current needs,” the Pope announced, his voice smooth as silk. “We must find a way to replicate the friendly relationship James maintained, but on a much grander scale.”
With that, the leaders of the indulgence-driven faith began diving into the mountains of reports from the Eastern Continent, searching for the one desire, the one vice, or the one political vacuum they could fill to ensure the Ancorna Empire fell under the lavender-scented banner of Herptian.
