"...you are the real Helldor Turand."The steam streaming from Helldorâs mouth grew cooler. He looked towards the invisible, intangible curse without responding to Fisherâs words. Instead, he pointed towards the camp outside,
"Ss-ss... Mr. Fisher, there is a High Ring Magic that I prepared earlier in the camp. It reaches as high as Eleven Ring and is based on âDestructionâ as the Ring Head. Named âErasure Light,â itâs inside the wagon. It was prepared for Valentina. We will split up; Iâll retrieve Valentinaâs Moon Princessâ Sword to distract the curse, while you secure the High Ring Magic I prepared and strive to eliminate that curse in one fell swoop."
Fisher nodded without much hesitation. In the bright moonlight outside, he said,
"Alright, take care."
"Ss-ss... take care, Mr. Fisher Benavides."
In the next moment, Helldor suddenly released the Spinner in his hand, loosening the pressure on the curse entity slightly, yet it remained firmly clutched in place by Fisher. Valentina, smart as she was, didnât understand why using the Moon Princess would enrage the curse but began to realize that only things like the Moon Princess and magic could harm it.
Several High Ring Magics were still stored on her ring which she activated with all her might, stirring the World Resonance.
Six-Ring Magic, âLightâ as the Ring Head, âLight Feather Arrowâ
Seven-Ring Magic, âThunderâ as the Ring Head, âTree-Shaped Lightningâ
Two thunderous, brilliant flashes of light burst from Valentinaâs hands on her wheelchair, transmitting instantly towards the center of the shrine. First came the dazzling, feather-like laser arrows, followed by the flickering, tree-branch-like thunder light that struck directly at the invisible curse.
"Shriek!"
The World Resonanceâs fluctuations grew more intense. The mocking Chaos Species watched more intently, lowering their gazes towards the bizarre curse that became highly agitated from the injuries.
The curseâs abilities were actually quite singular, but due to its peculiar transmission method, it appeared quite troublesome. At this moment, enduring the two Middle Ring Magics from Valentina was not painful at all, probably ranking around Tenth Rank.
"Be careful! Boss!"
As the World Resonance surged violently, the curseâs wild screams leaped beyond the boundaries of the Spirit Realm and the real world, manifesting as visible shock waves that spread outward. Valentina, sitting in the wheelchair, had no escape, but Philis behind her, with sharp eyes and quick hands, grabbed her wheelchair and pulled her far back, avoiding the devastating strike.
However, Valentinaâs attack wasnât completely ineffective. Capitalizing on the frenzied howling of the curse, Helldor, with his body cast from machinery, recklessly plunged downward, generating noise from friction against the stone floor as he sprinted towards Valentinaâs direction.
"Hel... dor..."
"Zzz... Valentina, quickly give me the Moon Princessâ Sword, it will bring danger to you. Iâll distract the curse, and you take the chance to hide in the Sealing Cage. Mr. Fisher and I will handle everything... Philis, keep an eye on Valentina."
Valentina didnât immediately hand over the Moon Princess Sword to Helldor; instead, she looked up at the mechanical man before her, feeling a familiarity in his voice, as if the benevolent old man, Helldor before the body swap, had reappeared before her.
It should have been a joyous reunion, but upon seeing the gradually dimming blue light on his body, Valentina found herself speechless for a long time. She seemed to have understood something, wanted to say something, yet couldnât utter a word. Thus, she stiffened momentarily and waited several seconds before handing the Moon Princess Sword, still in its wooden box, to Helldor,
"The Moon Princess Sword... without me, it wonât be long before it loses its essence. I wonder if the curse will dissipate by then... Helldor, call Mr. Fisher and join us in the Sealing Cage."
"Zzz... Valentina, the Sealing Cage can barely fit four people; Mr. Fisher and I cannot enter... Moreover, there are many who serve the Turand Family outside, and I donât wish for them to lose their lives. Mr. Fisher and I have already discussed a solution; rest assured. When you come out of the Sealing Cage again, everything will already be over."
Helldor spoke softly to a young Valentina as if lulling her to sleep. He gently stood up, holding the wooden box, and turned to look at the figure on the shrineâs top level. A man from the Northern Realm clutching the Spinner, his figure tall in the darkness, bright yet not cold like the moonlight. Helldor turned back to Valentina and said one last thing,
"Zzz... Valentina, you can trust Fisher Benavides. Seek the Frost Snow Phoenix Tree; his assistance is indispensable."
Valentina clenched the ring in her hand, didnât nod, and simply said,
"I understand."
"Zzz... Good, Iâm off now. Philis, quickly take Valentina to the Sealing Cage. Everyone outside, retreat! The farther away from here, the better!"
With those words, Helldor lifted the wooden box and signaled to the curse and Mr. Fisher at the pinnacle. He then ran wildly into the snowy grounds outside the shrine, heading in the opposite direction of the other Turand Family membersâ escape.
At the same time, Mr. Fisher released the Spinner. The frenzied curse entity followed the unsteady Helldor into the icy and snowy landscape of the Northern Realm. Mr. Fisher leapt from the top floor down to cross paths briefly with Valentina, who was slowly headed toward the Sealing Cage to hide, exchanging glances but no words. A second later, Mr. Fisher dashed alone toward the direction of the carriages.
"Swoosh!"
The howling sound from outside grew along with the snowstorm. Valentina, her fingers around the wheelchairâs grip turning increasingly cold and pale, struggled for breath,
"Ha... ha..."
"Hey! Boss, whatâs... what happened to you, are you feeling unwell?"
"Itâs... nothing, lead me into the Sealing Cage."
"Oh... okay."
