Chapter 226 - 226: Yuki"Oh, that shit, so cool." I murmur as I see Tanjiro using Hinokami Kagura against Rui.

But despite the sheer intensity of Tanjiro's attack, I couldn't let him take Rui down. Its not like Tanjiro can kill Rui, but Hashira's are on their way, so I need to test Yuki's strength before that.

No, not yet. There was something I had in mind—a test of strength, something far more meaningful for my newly turned vampire bride, Yuki, the former Spider Demon Mother.

As I glanced over at Yuki, she stood silently beside me, her new red eyes shimmering with a quiet intensity.

Next to me, Shalltear watched with intrigue, her eyes flitting between Tanjiro and Rui. She tilted her head slightly and asked, "Is that the boy you spoke of, Alex-sama? What was his name again? Tanjiro, right?"

Behind us, Lupusregina watched the clash with open excitement, as if it were a sport. Her eyes were fixed on Tanjiro and Rui, but I sensed she was just as curious about what would happen next. She leaned in slightly, her expression eager.

"So... when do we jump in, Alex-sama?" she asked with a mischievous smile, already anticipating the chaos.

"Soon," I said, keeping my gaze locked on the battle. "Very soon."

Tanjiro's blade descended, aiming to end the fight in one last, flaming strike.

I knew it was my moment to intervene.

In an instant, I stepped between him and Rui, catching his sword with one hand. The sheer force of the attack reverberated through me, but my grip held firm, the flames licking harmlessly against my skin.

Tanjiro was once again surprised by sudden intervention. First with the spider demon mother—Yuki—now Rui, one of the twelve kizuki.

From the smell, he is not a demon. Tanjiro once again confirms the man in front of him is not a demon.

Shalltear and Lupusregina were still hiding, as I have no doubt if Tanjiro saw them, he would conclude them as evil beings—he can smell it—as their karma values are in negative. Technically, they are evils, so...

"You..." he said slowly, his voice laced with disbelief. "Why are you protecting these demons?"

I gave him a calm, almost amused smile. "I have my reasons, Tanjiro. Not all of them follow Muzanette's cruelty willingly. Some, like Yuki, simply lacked a choice. I'm offering them one. Of course, Rui will see his maker.."

He narrowed his eyes, clearly trying to piece together my motives, though the clear lines of good and evil that he'd always followed made it difficult for him. This was precisely the sort of test I was looking for—to see how these two perspectives would collide.

Behind me, Yuki, newly transformed and yet uncertain, shifted slightly. Her crimson eyes stayed focused on Rui, who glared back at her, seething.

"You... what did you do to her?" Rui's voice dripped with contempt as he sized up Yuki in her new form.

"Freed her," I replied coolly. "She's no longer under Muzanette's control. She's no longer your puppet."

Rui scoffed, threads of his web swirling around his fingers. "You think changing her will make her stronger? She's still weak." He sneered, his arrogance bleeding through every word.

I gave Yuki a nod, and she stepped forward, eyes fixed on Rui. Her newfound vampire strength was still fresh and untested, and she needed to learn her own power. This was her chance.

As Yuki approached, Tanjiro's voice called out, torn between frustration and desperation. "But demons... they kill. They hurt others for their own survival!" His grip on his blade tightened. "How can you justify this?"

I turned to him, my gaze steady. "Just because someone is born one way doesn't mean they can't change. Yuki is free now, and she has a choice. Watch and see."

With that, Yuki lunged forward, her new strength apparent in the way she moved—fluid, precise, with a hint of deadly grace.

Rui sent his threads hurtling toward her, but she dodged them, slicing through a few with her claws. Her attacks were relentless, a newfound confidence evident in each movement.

Rui's face twisted in anger as he realized her increased power, his voice a snarl as he summoned more threads to ensnare her. "You were nothing before, and you're nothing now!" he spat, his threads weaving into a deadly tapestry aimed to trap her. "Blood demon art."

Rui's threads morphed, their razor-sharp edges flashing dangerously as they twisted around Yuki, closing in like a web of death. The force of his Blood Demon Art filled the air, his threads vibrating with deadly precision.

Yuki paused, but only for a heartbeat, her red eyes narrowing as she calculated her next move.

With newfound confidence, she anticipated the web's movement, evading the threads with swift, fluid steps.

Her vampire agility allowed her to glide just out of reach, her movements like a dance as she closed the distance between herself and Rui.

She slashed through the threads that dared get too close, each swipe of her claws severing the seemingly indestructible threads with ease.

Rui's face contorted with frustration. "Impossible," he muttered. "I am the Lower Moon Five. You're nothing compared to me!"

Yuki's voice was calm, carrying a strength she hadn't realized before. "I was nothing before. But now, I'm something you'll never understand—free."

Tanjiro, watching from a short distance, seemed stunned. I watched him closely, sensing the internal conflict as he processed what he had witnessed. He lowered his blade slightly, his breathing heavy.

"Is it true that you helped her break from Muzanette's control." Tanjiro asked.

"Yes," I said.

"Then can you help me? My sister is a demon."
