"What will you name it?" Nyx asked curiously.

"I was thinking my PoV will mostly be viewed by men and lesbians, so ’Sexy Nurse Cures My Raging Boner’ sounds just right to me."

"Yeah, I agree with that. Sounds like an easy hit." Luna nodded before glancing at Aria. "What about you?"

"I-I don’t know!" she shouted before running back to the warm protection she felt while nuzzling her face into her man’s firm chest.

"We embarrassed the moon princess," Nyx giggled amusedly before adding, "What about something like ’Tending to My Patient’s... Vital Needs’?"

She only bobbed her head weakly in agreement. Aria was busy melting away in his firm, manly embrace—unable to care about something like good video titles.

"What is it?" Kaiden asked worriedly when he saw how scared she looked.

"He is coming after us because of me!" Nyx cried, her eyes moistened.

"I’m so sorry, guys!" the pink-haired beauty apologized as if she’d done something horrible.

"Explain, please." Kaiden’s voice was firm, radiating both confidence and support. Hearing his calm tone, Nyx managed to gather her bearings somewhat, and after a tired sigh, she nodded.

"... It’s about time I tell you guys my story. I was ten years old when the mana apocalypse came, and it didn’t take more than a few months for me to find myself in a training camp for children. My parents took me out of elementary school and placed me in a specific academy for the awakened."

"That’s stupid. You only have a 15% chance to awaken. 85% of those children were wasting their time there," Luna said confusedly.

"You’re correct. However, this was at the beginning of it all, when we didn’t know much about the mana apocalypse and its effects on humans. This academy was owned by a guy named Maximilian Vicerra.

He promised parents that under his care, their children would have over 90% chance to awaken. My parents were gaslighted by his honeyed promises and signed an expensive contract, hoping it would be a worthwhile investment into my future.

It was a boarding school, and we were only allowed to go back home for Christmas, but even then, we were threatened not to tell our parents that there was nothing specific going on. We were just schooled like normal children but with some extra classes about the apocalypse so that we could appear all smart and well-informed when our parents quizzed us during our short stays.

We were all young and impressionable kids, so we all believed them when they said that if we revealed the truth to our parents, something horrible would happen as the faculty told us it would, so this went on for a few years.

Naturally, my parents and other kids’ parents recognized that something was off as more and more information was released about the apocalypse, and when they tried to pull me from the school, Maximilian dangled the contract in front of them, which stated they were millions of dollars in debt. A fraud investigation ensued, of which he was cleared, and the parents were held liable for keeping their end of the contract up.

Supposedly, Maximilian had friends very high up in the government chain, and technically, he made no promises of giving children greater chances at awakening. It was all in the small print of the contract."

Nyx’s expression became even more sorrowful as her voice trembled and her eyes moistened.

"My parents became depressed in the following years. Whenever I came home from school for Christmas, their gazes grew colder and colder, and then, on the day when I returned for the holidays, I found a new family living in my home. The mother there told me she was asked to hand me a letter, in which my parents wrote that this was all my fault for not telling them over the years and that I was a horrible child who ruined their lives with my silence... so..." By now she found it very hard to speak. Kaiden felt the severity of the situation, so he moved Aria away from his lap and embraced his trembling Space Valkyrie while whispering, "It’s okay..." in her ear.

Nyx breathed in and out a few times to calm herself while drying her eyes with his fingers, after which she finished her tale, "I was horrified beyond reason and cried for days until my tears no longer formed. By the time I went back to the academy, I was already 18, and Maximilian’s cronies soon got wind of my parents’ disappearance, at which point I was forced to sign a contract. I was so depressed back then that I didn’t even fight back; I just wanted to be left alone.

As such, I was indebted for millions of dollars.

What’s worse is that Maximilian had been eyeing me for a long time as a woman by that point, and immediately rushed to my rescue like a dashing prince I’m sure he imagined himself to be. He promised to pay off my debts from his own pocket if I became his.

That was all my brain needed to restart itself and immediately come out of my depression. I told him to screw off and started doing my best to at first legally fight the contract’s validity, and when that ultimately failed, I refused to admit defeat and tried earning money. I worked numerous jobs, but all of them failed to meet my monthly payment quotas.

At one point, I was called into his office, where I found my best friend, Alexandra, who was in the exact same situation as me. Maximilian told us we either get on our knees and start servicing him, or he would take legal action. I immediately turned around and began walking away, but before I left the room, to my great horror and utter disappointment, I heard a soft thud, signaling that Alexandra had admitted defeat.
