The jungle was alive with the sounds of insects, distant howls, and the faint rustle of leaves as the wind moved through the dense canopy. Beneath this natural symphony, the rebels prepared for battle. The humid air was thick with tension, every warrior knowing that by dawn, their world could change forever.

The rebel camp had been transformed into a war machine. Weapons were checked and rechecked, ammunition counted, and final strategies discussed. There were no grand speeches—everyone knew what was at stake. They had to strike first, strike hard, and vanish before Victoria's forces could retaliate.

Solomon Kane adjusted his rifle’s strap as he scanned the camp. Despite the calm demeanor he presented, his instincts screamed at him. This was the most dangerous mission they had undertaken. If they failed here, the rebellion would never recover.

Carlos approached, his machete sheathed at his side. "Everyone's in position," he said. "Maria and Jamie are waiting for the signal."

Solomon nodded. "Good. We hit them fast and get out. No unnecessary risks."

Nearby, Isabella sat on a wooden crate, eyes closed in deep concentration. The candle beside her flickered unnaturally, responding to the unseen forces she was channeling. Carlos' father-in-law, the village doctor, watched her with a mixture of awe and concern.

When Isabella finally opened her eyes, they glowed faintly before dimming. She exhaled, looking at Solomon. "The outcome is still unclear," she admitted. "I saw battle, blood, and shadows moving in the dark. I cannot see if we win or lose."

Solomon grimaced. "Then we make sure we win."

Isabella stood, straightening her coat. "I will go with you to the central route."

Carlos frowned. "Is that wise?"

"Victoria fears me. My presence alone can unsettle her forces," Isabella said. "Besides, if things go wrong, we may need a miracle."

Solomon sighed. "Fine. Just stay close."

Carlos took a deep breath, looking at the men and women who had gathered. “No more delays. Let’s move.”

The Assault Begins

The rebels moved through the jungle like phantoms, their training and knowledge of the terrain giving them an edge. The moon barely peeked through the dense foliage, casting faint silver light over their advance.

Maria and Jamie’s group had taken the western route, moving toward one of Victoria’s supply depots. Their team consisted of seasoned fighters, and they knew the terrain well. Jamie, armed with a scoped rifle, signaled Maria forward.

Maria spotted the guards near the depot—four men standing by a truck, lazily chatting. Too relaxed. They weren’t expecting an attack.

Jamie lined up her shot. A muffled crack, and one of the guards dropped. Before the others could react, Maria and her team moved in. Within seconds, the rebels secured the area, dispatching the remaining guards with quick, efficient strikes.

Maria knelt by a crate, prying it open. Inside were weapons—assault rifles, grenades, and even explosives.

Jamie grinned. “Victoria’s got some nice toys. Let’s take them.”

Carlos’ Team – The Eastern Raid

Carlos and his squad moved along the jungle path leading to one of Victoria’s key transport routes. If they took this out, her ability to resupply her forces would be crippled.

As they approached the enemy position, Carlos signaled his team to spread out. They had the advantage of surprise. The enemy was stationed near a small bridge, guarding the supply trucks.

Carlos whispered into his radio, “On my signal.”

Three… Two… One…

Gunfire erupted from the tree line as the rebels opened fire. The mercenaries scrambled for cover, but they were caught off guard. Carlos himself charged forward, his machete flashing as he cut down one of the enemy soldiers. The rest of his team worked efficiently, eliminating threats one by one.

The last enemy, wounded and crawling away, raised his weapon weakly, but Carlos shot him before he could fire.

Carlos stepped over the bodies, checking for any surviving rebels. His team had taken minor injuries, but nothing severe.

He pressed his radio. “Eastern route secured. Moving to next phase.”

Solomon and Isabella – The Heart of the Battle

At the central supply line, Solomon’s team faced the toughest resistance. Victoria had stationed her best soldiers here, knowing this was the most vulnerable point in her logistics.

The first shots rang out, and the jungle exploded into chaos.

Bullets ripped through the air as rebels and mercenaries clashed in brutal close-quarters combat. Solomon ducked behind a tree, returning fire with precise shots.

Nearby, Isabella stood her ground, her presence unnerving the enemy. She raised her hand, and a golden wave of energy pulsed outward. One of the mercenaries who had been about to fire at Solomon suddenly screamed, clutching his head as his mind was assaulted with visions of his worst fears.

Solomon took the opening and shot him.

A burst of gunfire forced them both to move. Victoria’s forces were better trained than the scattered guards at the other locations. These were elite soldiers.

“We need to fall back soon!” Solomon shouted.

Isabella clenched her fists, gathering her energy. “Give me ten more seconds.”

She stepped forward and raised both hands, her aura flaring. A shockwave rippled outward, causing the jungle to tremble. The mercenaries hesitated as an unnatural fear took hold.

Solomon used the moment to rally his team. “Now! Push forward!”

The rebels surged ahead, taking out the remaining guards before retreating back into the jungle.

Solomon turned to Isabella, who was breathing heavily, sweat beading on her forehead. “You good?”

She nodded. “It’s done.”

Victoria’s Camp – The Fallout

The reports came in fast. Victoria Langley sat in her command tent, her face unreadable as she listened.

“The western supply depot was hit first. We lost weapons and munitions.”

“The eastern transport route is compromised. Supply convoys can’t get through.”

“The central line suffered heavy losses. The Witch of Salvation was there.”

Victoria inhaled slowly, controlling the anger bubbling within her. She had underestimated them again.

Major Carter stood nearby, arms crossed. “They struck fast and pulled out before we could respond.”

Captain Reynolds looked frustrated. “They’re learning. They won’t fight us in open battle. They’ll keep bleeding us until we collapse.”

Victoria’s icy gaze sharpened. “Then we stop them before they get the chance.”

She stood, adjusting her uniform. “Double the patrols. Set up ambush points along the supply lines. The next time they try this, we will be ready.”

She turned to Major Carter. “And find me Esteban. I have a use for him.”

Carter hesitated. “Do you think that’s wise?”

Victoria’s expression hardened. “I think it’s necessary.”

Carter nodded, though he didn’t look convinced.

As the tent emptied, Victoria looked at the map. Her grip on the rebels was slipping.

That would not be allowed to continue.

A War Renewed

In the jungle, the rebels celebrated their success.

Carlos clapped Solomon on the shoulder. “We did it.”

Solomon gave a small nod, but his gaze was distant. “We bought time. That’s all.”

Nearby, Isabella sat quietly, exhaustion in her eyes. She knew the battle was far from over.

But for now, they had struck a blow.

And Victoria Langley would not let it go unanswered.

War had truly begun.
