Jamie – The First Strike

The impact of the explosion still echoed in Jamie’s ears as she sprinted through the USS Liberty's corridors, her heart pounding. The once-celebratory atmosphere had been utterly shattered, replaced by the blaring of alarms and the thunder of anti-aircraft fire outside.

Through the open hatches, she caught glimpses of the enemy’s assault—missiles streaking toward the fleet, aircraft launching in defense, and worst of all, Victoria’s war machines—the Grey Hounds—descending from the sky like metallic giants.

At twenty feet tall, these hulking mechs weren’t something infantry could fight head-on. Only tanks, battleships, planes, and other mechs could counter them. The Lancaster fleet had Grey Eagles, a newer, more advanced model, but they hadn’t expected an attack so soon. The pilots were still recovering from Antarctica’s brutal campaign.

Jamie slammed into the bridge’s reinforced doors, nearly colliding with Ryan as he emerged, rifle in hand.

“What the hell is happening?!” Ryan shouted over the noise.

Jamie gritted her teeth. “Victoria’s throwing everything she has left at us!”

A sudden shockwave sent them both stumbling. Outside, a Grey Hound mech had landed directly onto the flight deck, its massive hydraulic claws piercing through steel as it tore apart a fighter jet. It turned, its glowing red optics locking onto them.

“Move!” Jamie yelled, dragging Ryan with her just as the mech fired a railgun blast, obliterating the corridor behind them.

This wasn’t a battle.

It was a slaughter.

Solomon – Fighting a Ghost

“Enemy boarding parties have breached decks C through F! We’ve got three Grey Hounds on the flight deck and multiple hostiles below!”

Solomon Kane barely acknowledged the frantic officer’s report. He was too busy emptying an entire magazine of armor-piercing rounds into an infiltrator wearing high-tech optical camouflage. The corpse flickered, revealing the insignia of Victoria’s personal forces—the Phantom Corps.

She had planned this too well.

With his sidearm empty, Solomon grabbed a fallen pulse rifle, pressed against a wall for cover, and clicked his radio.

“Jack, where the hell are those Grey Eagles?!”

The radio crackled as Jack Turner’s voice came through, tense but controlled.

“Deploying now! Just hold the damn line!”

Solomon peeked over his cover. From the command deck’s shattered windows, he saw the Lancaster fleet’s response finally kicking in.

From the USS Washington, several Grey Eagles leaped off the launch ramps—sleek, five-meter-tall mechs, smaller but far more advanced than the Grey Hounds. Their optical camouflage shimmered as they activated, turning them into ghosts in the night sky.

One Grey Eagle landed atop a Grey Hound, plunging a vibro-blade into its cockpit, tearing through its armor. Another Eagle unleashed a railgun burst, shredding an enemy mech’s limbs before vanishing again into thin air.

Solomon smirked.

Victoria may have had the numbers, but Henry Lancaster had the better soldiers.

The Grey Hounds were war machines from the early war. The Grey Eagles were built by survivors—pilots who had learned from every battle and evolved their tactics.

This wasn’t a repeat of Antarctica.

This time, humanity was winning.

David – The Turning Point

David Lancaster stood at the fleet command station, gripping the rail as he barked orders. Beside him, Henry Lancaster, his father, watched the battle unfold with arms crossed.

“All ships—concentrate fire on enemy boarding craft!” David ordered.

The USS Liberty’s defensive turrets unleashed hell, filling the sky with flak bursts and missile fire, cutting down Victoria’s last wave of attackers. The Lancaster fleet was pushing back.

“We’ve got them,” Henry muttered, watching as the last Grey Hound collapsed, torn apart by Grey Eagle reinforcements. “Victoria’s finished.”

David nodded. “Then let’s end this.”

He turned to the security feeds, scanning for Victoria Langley herself.

And then—

The screen flashed red.

Location: Flight Deck.

Target: Jamie Lancaster.

David’s blood turned to ice.

Jamie – The Shot Heard Across the Deck

The battle was ending.

Victoria had lost.

The last Grey Hound was destroyed, the few surviving infiltrators either retreating or dead.

Jamie, catching her breath, leaned against a railing on the flight deck, watching the burning wreckage of Victoria’s attack.

“It’s over,” Ryan said beside her. “She’s gone.”

But Jamie knew better.

A faint sound of footsteps.

A click.

A chill ran down her spine.

She turned.

Victoria Langley stood there, bloodied, her uniform torn, yet still holding herself with eerie composure.

And in her hand—

A gun.

Jamie barely had time to react.

BANG.

A sharp, searing pain tore through her chest. She gasped, stumbling back, blood staining her uniform.

Ryan screamed her name.

Victoria smirked, lowering the gun.

“Goodbye, Lancaster.”

And then—

Two gunshots.

One from David Lancaster.

One from Solomon Kane.

Victoria staggered, a bullet ripping through her shoulder, another piercing her side. She wavered at the edge of the deck, blood dripping from her lips.

For the first time, fear flashed in her eyes.

Then, without another word—

She let herself fall backward into the ocean.

Gone.

Aftermath – The Price of Victory

Jamie lay on the deck, her vision blurring, her father and Ryan kneeling beside her.

“Stay with me, Jamie!” Ryan pressed down on the wound, his hands shaking.

David’s voice was rough with emotion. “MEDIC! GET A MEDIC HERE NOW!”

Solomon stood over Victoria’s final resting place, his gun still in his grip. He stared at the waves, waiting for her to resurface.

She never did.

“She’s dead,” Henry said, stepping beside him.

Solomon didn’t respond. He wasn’t so sure.

Victoria Langley was too dangerous to die so easily.

But for now—

For now, the battle was over.

And Jamie Lancaster’s fate was in the hands of the medics.

Henry Lancaster, watching the medic treating his granddaughter, exhaled heavily. He had nearly lost his granddaughter tonight.

But the odds were on their side.

Victoria Langley was gone—presumed dead.

And for the first time in years, Henry placed a hand on David’s shoulder.

"She’s strong," Henry said. "She’ll survive."

David didn’t look at his father, but he nodded.

The war wasn’t over.

But tonight, they had won.
