Chapter 16: Chapter 16: You Think You Can Flirt and Then Just Run Away?His gaze landed on her red lips. She hadn’t applied any lipstick, yet they were so alluringly rosy that he wanted to bite down hard.

His dark eyes deepened as the pad of his finger stroked against hers, the motion suggestive and intimate.

But there was no trace of warmth in his eyes. Qin Miaomiao wanted to turn her face away, but he gripped her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze.

"Qin Miaomiao, don’t even think of playing tricks in front of me."

A hint of mockery appeared on Qin Miaomiao’s face, and she shot back without hesitation:

"Tricks? How could I dare, when everything is under Mr. Lu’s control?"

Her expression was decidedly stubborn, her eyes shimmering as if rippling with water, mesmerizing and intoxicating.

Realizing his momentary distraction, Lu Qing instantly straightened up, his demeanor turning colder as he spoke in an indifferent tone:

"Good that you know."

Afterward, the two lay on the same bed. Qin Miaomiao curled up in one corner, creating enough space between them to fit two other people.

Lu Qing’s sleeping posture seemed impeccable—he lay flat without moving an inch for over two hours.

She, on the other hand, felt her left leg going numb. Wanting to adjust her position, she hesitated, too afraid to move.

It was sheer torture. If she had to keep sharing a bed like this in the future, she’d go insane!

After holding out for three hours, sleep finally overtook her.

Lu Qing noticed when Qin Miaomiao suddenly rolled over, her hand draping across his chest. His brow furrowed.

She seemed to have found a source of warmth—not only did her hand rest upon his chest, but she pressed her body tightly against him as well.

He disliked being touched by others, and his instinct was to push her away, but her body carried a sweet fragrance and felt incredibly soft.

The scent she carried wafted into his senses, and his body began to respond involuntarily!

This woman... she clung to him like an octopus, wrapping herself tightly around him.

Lu Qing’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and he relied on his formidable self-control to resist the urge to pin this brazen woman down and take her!

Yet even then, the woman didn’t stop. Her thigh brushed against him.

The undeniably provocative gesture pushed Lu Qing’s restraint to the brink of collapse!

She must be doing this on purpose!

But her steady breathing revealed that she was genuinely and deeply asleep.

Lu Qing’s body was rigid with tension. Taking a few deep breaths, he finally quelled the surge of desire. And just then, her hand began moving again.

Perhaps she felt cold, for she clung to him more tightly, her small, icy hand now pressed firmly against his chest!

Though other women had tried approaching him before, Lu Qing’s naturally cold disposition had always scared them off before they got close.

But this woman—she was utterly reckless, brazenly teasing him like this!

And the worst part was, he was actually reacting to it. Dammit!

Fine. Since she wanted to provoke him, he’d oblige her. He gazed down at her delicate, enchanting face, her slightly upturned lips so tempting they were almost sinful.

Without thinking, he leaned down, drawn by the urge to kiss her. But just as he was about to, she moved suddenly and turned away... Turned away?

Lu Qing’s expression froze, his arms now empty. This woman dared to turn her back on him!

"Qin... Miaomiao..." His voice squeezed out through gritted teeth sounded dangerous.

Unfortunately, Qin Miaomiao was sound asleep, still presenting her back to him.

Oh, how clever—flirting with him and then just walking away? Did she think it would be so easy?
