Chapter 18: Chapter 18 Who Says I Was Kicked Out?She changed into a custom-made lady’s gown and applied a subtle, serene makeup. Fortunately, her hair quality wasn’t bad, naturally carrying a bit of curl.

Even with such little time to prepare, when she walked out of the bathroom, Lu Qing gave her a once-over. From his gaze, Qin Miaomiao could roughly interpret his thoughts—she was passable.

Old Sir Lu appeared to be in good spirits. Lu Qing expressed his intention to leave, which Old Sir Lu agreed to, offering a few words of advice—mostly urging them to get along well and ideally work towards having a great-grandchild.

Qin Miaomiao cooperatively responded with a bashful smile.

Once they left the Lu Family’s estate, Lu Qing got into another car and left, leaving her to the care of the driver.

"Madam, please get in the car."

The driver respectfully opened the car door for her. Watching Lu Qing’s car drive off without a shred of hesitation, Qin Miaomiao almost wanted to flip him off.

Use her and discard her—without even exchanging a word—was this really how it was going to be the moment they left the old mansion?

She got into the car, only to receive a phone call on her mobile.

"Miaomiao, come back here immediately,"

The voice on the other end was piercing. Before she could react, the person continued speaking:

"Honestly, how can you be so stupid? You managed to marry Lu Qing, becoming Mrs. Lu, yet you have no clue how to win over a man’s heart. Let me tell you, at this rate, you’re hopeless for life! Come back here, and we’ll come up with a strategy for you. That’s that."

With that, the call abruptly ended with a sharp click. Listening to the busy tone from the other end, Qin Miaomiao’s lips slowly curled into a smirk.

She glanced at the caller ID—it was Aunt Lin Fen. The Qin Company was currently under her uncle Qin Lin’s control. Thanks to the Lu Family’s backing, the company had managed to stay afloat. But Qin Lin was exceedingly ambitious, attempting every possible way to exploit the Lu Family.

The original Qin Miaomiao may have been headstrong, but she was gullible and trusted her uncle unconditionally—to the extent of blindly obeying him.

"Why not ask the Lu Family for help?"

The mention of the Lu Family only made Qin Lin more irritable. He sighed and said:

"Do you think the Lu Family are fools? That they’d just hand over tens of millions for me to patch some hole? Do you know who Lu Qing is? I’m terrified of saying even one extra word in front of him. And don’t think that because that deadbeat girl Qin Miaomiao married him, he actually treats me like an uncle. That girl has no skills whatsoever, and even that stunt with her suicide didn’t seem to provoke any reaction from Lu Qing. Honestly, after this fiasco, Lu Qing might even end up divorcing her."

Lin Fen was shocked. The Lu Family was their biggest support—if Lu Qing divorced Qin Miaomiao, they’d really be done for!

"Are you talking about Sister Miaomiao? She might be kicked out? What should we do?"
