Chapter 32 - Killing on a Whim

He didn’t like to initiate trouble and disliked complications.

However, that was based on the premise of “if others do not offend me, I will not offend others.” If someone dared to provoke him, especially if they targeted his relatives or friends, then he was sorry, but all you would be greeted with was a pair of iron fists.

Ye Tianchen’s right wrist had caught the gunman and dragged him to the doorway of the room.

Just as Ye Tianchen was dragging the man with the handgun, preparing to open the iron door of the interrogation room to leave, the door was pushed open from the outside.

A portly middle-aged man in a police uniform entered.

This man was none other than Lu Shengda, the Director of the Kyoto Law Enforcement Bureau.

He was also the father of that young man in gold-rimmed glasses who stood aside while Ye Tianchen beat up Luo Lei at Heaven and Earth.

However, this guy was pretty smart, knew how to assess situations, and was always careful and cautious in his dealings.

This was why he hadn’t called the police on that day; he could tell that Ye Tianchen was not simple and certainly not the wastrel or good-for-nothing as rumors in Capital City had put it.

With his father being the Director, if he mistakenly handled the situation or sided with the wrong team, it could very well mean the end of him.

After returning home, Lu Wang brought up the matter with his father, Lu Shengda, who was utterly stunned.

Ye Tianchen’s reputation was well-known throughout Capital City.

The sudden change in his capabilities surprised and left everyone doubtful.

This time, when Ye Tianchen had been caught by two scoundrels and brought to the station, Lu Shengda was aware of the situation.

Although his son Lu Wang had said to leave Ye Tianchen alone for the time being, Lu Shengda was somewhat skeptical.

He couldn’t believe that a former wastrel could suddenly become so formidable.

Moreover, he knew that the two scoundrels were bribed by men from Li Tie.

And he had a plan in his heart: if Ye Tianchen was still the wastrel he used to be, then let Li Tie’s men kill him—it would spare Lu Shengda the trouble of offending Li Tie and dealing with the Qin family.

But if Ye Tianchen was indeed capable, then they would have to reconsider their approach.

What Lu Shengda hadn’t anticipated was just how formidable Ye Tianchen was, daring to hit a public officer with signs that he might even kill him.

This prompted Lu Shengda to hastily leave the monitoring room and push open the door of the interrogation room, attempting to stop Ye Tianchen.

“Brother Ye, stop, stop.

When Lu Shengda heard Ye Tianchen’s words, he furrowed his brows.

He had only been polite on the surface, not expecting Ye Tianchen to be so assertive.

Here was Ye Tianchen, speaking of killing a public officer right in front of the Director himself.

“I advise you not to act recklessly.

This is a police station.

With a slight twist of his right wrist to the left, the thug who had held the gun to his forehead had his neck broken.

His lifeless body collapsed onto the ground, chilling Lu Shengda to the core.

To kill someone within the premises of a police station was something unprecedented; perhaps Ye Tianchen was the first.

But in his view, such scoundrels only brought harm to good people while alive; it was better to just kill them off.

“You’re seeking death, intentional murder, do you believe I can shoot you dead right now?” Regaining his senses, Lu Shengda reached for the handgun at his waist and grimaced at Ye Tianchen as he spoke.

“I advise you not to fire that gun, because everyone who has dared to point one at my head has ended up dead,” Ye Tianchen said coldly.

Upon hearing Ye Tianchen’s words, Lu Shengda was shocked.

Whether or not he believed what he had just witnessed, how powerful could this young man be, and how significant was his background?

To dare kill someone in a police station was indeed a shocking act.

Lu Shengda and Ye Tianchen were at a standoff.

With his back to Lu Shengda, Ye Tianchen was unfazed as Lu Shengda’s right hand rested on the pistol at his waist.

He wanted to shoot and kill Ye Tianchen but lacked the courage to do so.

He wasn’t sure whether Ye Tianchen would dare to kill him, the Chief of the Capital City Police.

“If you have nothing more to say, then I’ll be leaving.

Goodbye!” Ye Tianchen said and headed for the interrogation room door.

“Stop right there, Ye Tianchen, you’re too presumptuous!

Daring to kill someone in the police station is a crime punishable by death.

Even if you’re from the Ye family, I can shoot you right here.

I believe the Ye family wouldn’t dare to do anything to me…” Lu Shengda said fiercely.

The issue is very serious,” Lu Shengda said, hardly able to believe that Chen Sheng was ordering him to release Ye Tianchen, and he hurried to speak up.

“Don’t concern yourself with this matter.

After hanging up, Lu Shengda, with a cold sweat on his forehead, took a glance at Ye Tianchen.
