Seeing Beverly about to grab the Bone Ring, Bondoni shouted and charged at her.

Death Shock!

Bondoni used magic. In his urgency, he no longer cared about anything else—he had to get the treasure, and as for the others...

They all had to die!

A gray mass of death energy appeared in Bondoni's hand, then that death energy turned into a turbid mist and lunged at Beverly.

"Be careful!"

As a clergy member of the Church of Light, Camilla instantly recognized that force as death energy, so she quickly warned her companions to dodge.

But seeing Bondoni suddenly erupt, Beverly was startled and instinctively pulled her hand back, only for the Death Shock to hit her squarely in the chest.

"Ah!"

Beverly screamed in agony as the Death Shock struck him, sending him flying backward.

Seeing this, marlo leapt and caught Beverly, while shouting at Bondoni.

"Mr. Bondoni, what are you doing?"

Marlo couldn't understand why the mage he had hired, Bondoni, would attack his own teammate, but Bondoni ignored Marlo's furious roar, instead taking this opportunity to dash straight toward the Bone Ring.

"Mine, it's all mine!"

Bondoni roared excitedly, but suddenly, a beam of light descended from above.

Holy Light Spell!

The light bathed Bondoni, and in an instant, his body was scorched red by the burning.

"Arghhhh!"

Caught off guard by the sudden strike, Bondoni was hit.

Coupled with how divine magic naturally counteracted death energy, he was forced to halt his advance.

Seeing this, Celia dashed forward to snatch the Bone Ring.

However, upon seeing this girl, who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, all four were stunned.

There was actually someone else here!

While the four were still reeling, Celia's hand was just about to grasp the Bone Ring, when suddenly, a denser burst of death energy erupted from the ring.

The death energy became tangible and, sensing Celia's attempt to seize the ring, it instantly lashed back.

Withering, plague, decay—such wicked forces tainted Celia's hand, and in a split second, her hand turned black.

Seeing this, Serea was dumbfounded and, worrying for Celia's safety, shouted,

"Stop! There's a trap!"

Serea stopped Celia.

Hearing this, Celia quickly withdrew her arm, but death energy had already infected her hand, rapidly spreading from her palm.

Yet Celia's plight did not halt Bondoni's greedy advance. In his eyes, only his treasure mattered, so he charged up.

Death Shock!

Bondoni attacked Celia.

Celia tried to draw her sword to defend herself, but due to the corrosion of death energy, her right hand was temporarily unusable.

Seeing this, she hurriedly retreated!

With Celia in retreat, Bondoni reached the dark stone platform and, allowing the death energy to corrode his body, finally claimed the Bone Ring in his hand.

"Ughhh, it's mine!"

Bondoni howled in pain; his hand clutching the ring was visibly rotting and even festering from the death energy.

But he did not care—he had finally obtained the treasure of his dreams!

Compared to that, what was a hand?

He gripped the Bone Ring greedily as the death energy began eroding not only his body but even his soul!

Bondoni, stifling his agony, looked at the others, madness in his eyes.

Divine Shot!

Seeing him seize the Bone Ring, Vina immediately attacked, lifting her hand and firing a Divine Shot, her arrow streaking toward Bondoni's eye socket.

Bone Barrier!

Summoned by his magic, a wall of bones rose from the ground in front of Bondoni—a shield built of stacked bones.

The arrow struck and sank a third in, but failed to injure Bondoni behind it. Using the Bone Barrier, Bondoni forced the others to back off as well.

"No need to hide anymore, prepare for battle!"

At Serea's command, three masked young women dropped from the top of the circular chamber.

Revitalize!

Vines shot out and wound around the bone wall. After just a few seconds, the thick vines crushed the wall to pieces, removing Bondoni's protection.

"Elves!"

Seeing the pointed ears poking out from beside the mask, Bondoni recognized who they were.

"Who are you, and why are you here?"

"That's exactly what I wanted to ask!"

Serea replied.

With those words, a shadow darted forward. Bondoni tried to defend himself, but the shadow was far too fast, appearing before him in an instant.

Arm Blade Thrust! Blade Rend!

Certain death!

Bondoni appeared doomed, yet all of a sudden, the death energy within the Bone Ring in his hand coiled out towards Little Black.

The death energy, now tangible, actually blocked Little Black's attack—and even began to corrode the undead Little Black!

Seeing this, Serea quickly ordered,

"Fall back, leave it to Little White!"

Serea frowned deeply. She had expected that, as an undead, Little Black would be immune to death energy.

Unexpectedly, the enemy's power was just too strong.

Power Shot!

Little Black vanished into the shadows, just as a chilled glint streaked forth.

Puff!

The arrow pierced Bondoni's chest with precision—straight through the heart.

It was done!

Black blood gushed out. Serea was decisive and ruthless, always striking fatally, leaving Bondoni, caught off guard, unable to defend himself.

Splurt!

Bondoni vomited a huge mouthful of black blood, staring at Serea, his eyes full of confusion and rage.

Why would anyone appear here? Why would they attack him?

He didn't know that, upon seeing the special unit blueprint hidden in the Bone Ring, Serea had already decided—anyone who touched it, died!

"Ahhhh!"

Seeing Bondoni instantly slain by these strangers, Beverly screamed in terror at the bloody scene.

Regaining his senses, Bondoni glanced at the arrow embedded in his chest. He could feel it had shattered his heart, and even a few ribs had splintered.

But just as Little White, seeing him die too slowly, moved to finish him off, the death energy from the Bone Ring erupted again.

"Anyone who hinders this king's resurrection must die!"

It was a whisper from deep within the soul, and from it, Serea sensed a soul so powerful it could not be stared at directly.

At this moment, Bondoni was no longer Bondoni; his body had been possessed by another soul!

Under the influence of the death energy, Bondoni did not die immediately. His eyes now glinted with a strange, deep purple light.

Finding the body decayed, the new presence raised a hand and aimed at Marlo.

Death energy lashed out. Marlo tried to evade, but it was already too late.

"Run!"

In the nick of time, Beverly shoved Marlo aside, but she herself was ensnared by death energy.

But this time, the death energy did not corrode her flesh; instead, it became tangible and dragged her to Bondoni's side.

Seeing his prey escape, 'Bondoni' was annoyed, preparing to attack again—but suddenly, he sensed a hollowness in his power.

The death energy he had accumulated was now depleted.

Looking around at so many enemies, 'Bondoni' realized now was not the time for a showdown.

With a wave of his hand, a purple magic circle lit up beneath his feet, and with Beverly, he vanished into a swirl of gray mist.

At that instant, Serea checked Bondoni's attributes again.

But due to the change in soul, his name had changed as well. That was...
