Chapter 82 - Nightmare

Throughout the morning, Lin Luoluo was at the construction site.

At noon, Lin Luoluo drove, her face showing exhaustion, to the commercial district, planning to grab some lunch.

She had just parked her car by the roadside when she saw another car pull to a stop on the opposite side.

Lin Luoluo caught a glimpse out of the corner of her eye, and upon seeing that it was a pink BMW, she instinctively took a longer look.

Just then, the door of the pink BMW opened, and a man and a woman got out of the car.

Lin Luoluo was stunned.

Was that not Zhou Yu?

The girl beside him, wasn’t she Li De’an’s granddaughter?

As soon as Li Shuangshuang got out of the car, she excitedly grabbed Zhou Yu’s hand and walked into a nearby restaurant.

Seeing this scene, a hard-to-describe anger suddenly surged in Lin Luoluo’s heart.

She immediately got out of her car and rushed over.

When she reached the entrance, her steps suddenly halted.

“Why am I so angry?”

Lin Luoluo suddenly realized this question.

Her delicate fists were clenched tightly.

She turned around, went to the glass window next to her, took out her phone, snapped a photo, and then left with a cold expression on her face.

Zhou Yu was dining with Li Shuangshuang.

He suddenly thought he caught a glimpse of Lin Luoluo’s figure outside the window but, upon closer inspection, he didn’t see her.

A sense of astonishment rose in Zhou Yu’s heart.

Why would he suddenly think of her?

Could it be that Lin Luoluo had truly become his nightmare?

That would be too horrifying!!!

After the meal, Zhou Yu and Li Shuangshuang were preparing to leave when Zhou Yu’s phone rang.

It was Qi Fei calling.

“Zhou Yu, have you finished your work?

Duoduo and I would like to invite you out for a meal.”

Zhou Yu laughed and said,

“I’ve just finished eating.”

Qi Fei hadn’t finished speaking when someone snatched the phone from him.

Liu Duoduo’s voice came through.

“Brother Zhou Yu, do you have time this afternoon?

I know my request might be a bit excessive, but I still want to ask you to see my friend Qingqing.

She’s really been suffering lately.”

Liu Duoduo sure wasn’t shy; after a short absence, she started calling him “brother”!!

However, Zhou Yu didn’t mind.

He could tell that Liu Duoduo genuinely cared about her friend.

He thought for a moment, having no other plans for the afternoon, and nodded.

“Okay, I’ll take a look at her in a little while.”

“That’s great, where are you?

I’ll come find you.”

Zhou Yu gave his location to Liu Duoduo, and after hanging up the phone, Luoluo didn’t wait for him to speak—Li Shuangshuang asked curiously,

“Zhou Yu, what’s up?

Do you have plans this afternoon?”

“Yeah, a friend of a friend at the company is sick, and I’m going to check on her.”

“I’ll go with you, I can help you out.” Li Shuangshuang volunteered eagerly.

After all, Li Shuangshuang was the granddaughter of the Divine Doctor Li De’an; the saying goes, you don’t have to eat pork to see it running, and she had some medical skills, helping out would certainly be no problem.

Zhou Yu didn’t refuse.

Soon, Liu Duoduo arrived.

Upon seeing Li Shuangshuang, Liu Duoduo exclaimed,

“Brother Zhou Yu, this must be your girlfriend, she’s so pretty.”

“Sister-in-law, she’s not my girlfriend!”

“Is there a need to explain so quickly?

It’s like I’m the one bothering you.”

Liu Duoduo covered her mouth and chuckled.

“Then I’m relieved.

Just so you know, my good friend is quite a beauty.”

Upon hearing this, Li Shuangshuang’s expression tensed subconsciously.

The three went by Li Shuangshuang’s car to the southern outskirts of Yancheng.

This area was relatively undeveloped in Yancheng, filled with shantytowns, urban villages, and dilapidated staff quarters of agencies.

Under Liu Duoduo’s guidance, they arrived at a decrepit staff quarters.

Li Shuangshuang curiously surveyed the surroundings.

“Sister Duoduo, does your friend live here alone?”

Liu Duoduo nodded.

“Yes.

She’s very independent and doesn’t want to trouble others, so she chose to live by herself.”

“Ah?

With her condition, living alone—won’t it be dangerous?” Li Shuangshuang was somewhat concerned.

“It’s quite safe here.”

The security door opened, revealing a girl with long hair, wearing pajamas, and with a very gentle and sweet appearance, standing at the doorway.

Zhou Yu’s eyes lit up; indeed, she was a pretty girl.
