"Lily said you were looking for me?"After a couple of minutes of waiting, the door of Grayâs room hesitantly opened. In there, a curious Mara peeked inside. "Do you have something to say to me?"
"Yeah," Gray replied. He waved his hand to signal that she should enter the room. "Come in for a bit."
Mara walked inside and glanced around. It was her first time seeing Grayâs room from the inside, and with only them. She was surprised to see that it was actually pretty clean.
Gray went to his bed and picked up the clothes he had chosen earlier.
"Youâre still wearing your work clothes," he muttered as he glanced back at her. "I figured you might want to change into something more comfortable before we eat and watch movies."
With that, he walked closer to Mara and presented the clothes in front of her. That act made Mara freeze for a second. Her lips parted as she slowly took it from his hand.
"Did you prepare this for me?" she asked, slowly frowning.
"Yeah," Gray nodded and smiled at her. "Youâve been running around all day. I know working clothes can be uncomfortable. Youâre in my house, so thatâs something I ought to take care of."
Mara looked down at the clothes, then back at him. Her lips slowly curved into a small smile.
"Thank you, Gray," she said quietly. "Thatâs really thoughtful of you."
Gray just chuckled at it. He rubbed the back of his neck and smiled back at her.
"Itâs nothing. You can use the bathroom to change. Just come out when youâre done. Iâll be waiting for you here."
"Okay," Mara replied, followed by a chuckle. She turned and walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
The moment she was alone, she leaned her back against the door. Her smile instantly dropped. For some reason, her heart felt strangely warm.
She looked at the clothes in her hands. They were simple and clearly big for her.
"Gray really noticed it, didnât he?" she thought and smiled.
Mara moved to the sink and placed the clothes there. Slowly, she removed her clothes. She couldnât help but look at her reflection in the mirror. She had lost weight after being busy for months, so her stomach has gotten flatter.
Still, her bosoms were nice and bouncy. For her, it was her biggest asset.
Mara deeply sighed. It was embarrassing to admit, but the last time she did the deed was when she and Gray were drunk.
She swallowed the lump in her throat and quickly shook her head.
"No, Mara... you shouldnât be thinking of that." She quickly scolded herself when she realized what she had been thinking.
Mara quickly felt guilty about it. She knew that Gray was in a relationship, and she also had a good bond with Selina.
She paused for a moment as she looked away from her mirror. Her heart was beating faster.
"I should not be thinking like this," she whispered to herself.
But no matter how hard she tried, she could not ignore the feeling growing in her chest. To stop her thoughts, she just quickly put on her clothes. Afterward, she took a deep breath and opened the bathroom door.
She stepped back into the room, now wearing Grayâs clothes. They were a bit loose on her, but she had to admit that they were pretty nice and comfortable.
Gray turned when he heard the door of his bathroom open. When he saw her, he paused for a second.
Mara was wearing his shirt and shorts. The sleeves of her shirt went past her shoulders, and the hem of it almost reached her thighs.
Gray chuckled at it.
"You look," he paused for a moment, trying to find the right word to say to her, "kind of tiny in those."
Mara frowned at him right away. "Tiny?"
"Yeah," he said with a soft laugh. "I forgot how big my clothes are compared to yours."
She crossed her arms, which only made the sleeves bunch up more. "Are you saying they look bad on me?"
"No no no," Gray replied quickly, still smiling. "Iâm saying they look... cute."
"Cute?" she frowned.
"Yeah. You look cute... and a bit funny too."
"Hey," she protested, cheeks warming. "These are your clothes. Itâs not my fault theyâre huge."
"Thatâs true," Gray chuckled. "But still... You look a little homeless."
"Tss," She looked down at herself. When she saw that she really looked homeless, she just rolled her eyes. "Well, I do, so stop staring."
"Iâm not staring," he said, even though he clearly was.
Mara walked closer and lightly hit his arm.
"You are."
Gray laughed at that.
Alright, alright. Iâll stop. But you really do look... cute."
She turned her face away, trying to hide the smile that was forming on her face.
"Youâre annoying, do you know that?"
"Nope. Iâm actually the best since I gave you the clothes."
Mara slowly lifted her head and glared at him.
Gray only laughed harder when he saw her expression.
"What?" he asked, still amused. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Youâre really super annoying," Mara muttered. "You know that, right?"
The way Mara stood there made her look like a kid who was sulking after being teased. Her lips were slightly puffed out, and her brows were knit together.
Gray had no chance of holding it in.
"Sorry, sorry," he said between laughs. "You just look funny when youâre angry like that."
"That is not funny," she shot back. "Well then stop looking," she replied, turning her face away.
But even then, her ears were slightly red.
"What if I donât want to?"
Mara clenched her fists at her sides. "Youâre seriously annoying."
"And youâre seriously cute when youâre mad."
That did it.
"Tss," she clicked her tongue and turned around sharply. "Iâm leaving."
"Hey, where are you going?" Gray asked.
"Anywhere that doesnât have you in it," she replied without looking back.
She walked out of the room while Gray stood there, bursting into laughter.
