Chapter 15: 15. By destroying someone else’s happiness, one also sacrifices their own life.When Nathan Moore got off work, Titus Zane was slouched on the couch, listlessly flipping through the TV channels with a remote control.

Olivia Zane wheeled over enthusiastically, "You’re back."

"Hmm," Nathan responded, handing her his briefcase as the resolute lines of his face softened.

Olivia placed the briefcase on her blanket-covered legs, wheeled over to the tea table to leave it there, then wheeled back and reached out to help him take off his coat, the very picture of a devoted wife.

"I can do it myself." Nathan changed into his slippers and pushed her towards the hall.

Titus continued to switch channels on the TV, clenching her shawl tightly, ignoring the man who came home from work as if there was no one else in the hall.

Nathan glanced at her indifferently, his handsome face expressing little emotion.

"Nathan, I haven’t been back to my parents’ home for a long time, I want to visit them this weekend..." Olivia turned her head, grabbing Nathan’s hand on the wheelchair and looking up at him with a soft, pleading voice.

"Okay," with one word, Nathan’s handsome face softened considerably.

Turning off the TV, Titus got up to go back to her room upstairs.

Not wanting to see the sweet interaction between the two, feeling like an unwelcome third party forced into their relationship, disturbing their happiness, and compromising her own life.

Getting up, wrapping her shawl around herself, she had just reached the bottom of the staircase when Aunt Liu in the dining room was busily setting the table with bowls and chopsticks.

Titus then changed her direction and sat down at the dining table.

"Eat in silence, sleep in silence" is always the family motto of others, because in this household, mealtime is always the liveliest time.

Olivia actively and enthusiastically served the man at the head of the table, placing a little of each dish into the bone plate in front of Nathan, who seemed to enjoy it very much, accepting everything Olivia added, regardless of the dish.

When dinner was halfway through and there was still no movement in the kitchen, Nathan paused his chopsticks and called out towards the inside.

"Aunt Liu."

"Ah, coming!" Aunt Liu responded and hurried out.

"Sir, what can I do for you?"

"Is this all for dinner?" Nathan’s dark eyes swept over the table.

Aunt Liu glanced at the table, "Oh, yes, sir, the lady said that all the dishes were ready."

Looking at the table full of vegetarian dishes, Nathan’s handsome brow furrowed, giving off a suffocating vibe when he wasn’t smiling.

Aunt Liu stood by, lips unconsciously pursing, bracing for the reprimand.

In reality, the all-vegetarian table was the lady’s instruction; as a housekeeper, she had no right to dictate the dietary choices of the household.

Titus, sitting to Nathan’s left, ate her food unhurriedly with her bowl and chopsticks. Although she had just been discharged from the hospital and was still very weak, she didn’t complain about the unappetizing dinner.

As if aware of what displeased Nathan, Olivia put down her utensils and looked at the man at the head of the table with a smile.

"Nathan, I told Aunt Liu to make it light. Sister just got out of the hospital and shouldn’t eat greasy food. She didn’t like the soup you ordered at noon and ended up throwing it all away."

Looking at Olivia, Nathan’s dark gaze showed no change, although there seemed to be a flicker of emotion that passed quickly, so quickly that Olivia missed it before it vanished.

After another indifferent glance at the gracefully eating woman, Nathan picked up his bowl and chopsticks.

"It’s okay now."

Aunt Liu turned and went back to the kitchen to have her own dinner, the sea cucumber soup that the master had ordered her to make in the morning. The lady had asked her to throw it away at noon, but she couldn’t bear it and secretly hid it away to eat herself in the evening.
