Chapter 7: 7, Nathan Moore said, if you provoke me, woman, I will still hit!Olivia Zaneās movements were somewhat hurried, and the wheelchair slid quickly before coming to a sudden halt, almost launching her out due to the momentum.
Nathan Mooreās expression darkened like a storm approaching, his long arm stretched out and firmly locked Olivia between the wheels, his displeased tone didnāt carry blame but was full of heartache.
"Why so fast? Itās so dangerous. What would you do if you hurt yourself!"
Olivia Zane, seemingly unconcerned about hurting herself, took the opportunity to grab Nathan Mooreās arm, tilting her pale porcelain face and pleading in a soft voice.
"Nathan, could you please not punish sister? It would pain my heart..."
Titus Zane...
Seeing his sister "protecting" him like this, he felt no emotion but found it laughable instead.
His bloodless lips curved into a cold scoff.
Such a kind and considerate woman, even her behavior moved her, then which man wouldnāt like her?
No wonder that man is so thoroughly captivated by her.
"Titus Zane!" Nathan Moore ignored Olivia Zaneās plea and instead looked over her head towards the woman on the bed.
His teeth clenched, as if shredding her a thousand times would not be enough to appease his fury.
"Iām here," Titus Zane replied indifferently, his eyes clashing with Nathanās fiery gaze, his nonchalant demeanor quite infuriating.
His eyebrows raised provocatively, "What, you want to punish me?"
Spreading his hands, he asked, "How would you punish me in my current state?"
The lines on Nathanās jaw tightened even more, knowing he had hit his sore spot, yet Titus Zane fearlessly continued.
"Teaching me a lesson in bed is out of the question, unless you want to get filthy first."
"Titus Zane, believe it or not, I can end you?" Nathan Mooreās thin lips slightly parted, the words squeezed out between his teeth.
"I believe," Titus Zane nodded and smirked, "What isnāt a man like you, whoās nothing but debris, capable of?"
Despite saying "believe," Titus Zaneās expression and tone were filled with mockery.
Nathan Mooreās handsome brow twitched slightly, those familiar with him knew this was a prelude to an eruption.
Pushing Olivia Zane aside, he strode forward to the bedside, uncompassionately snatched Titus Zaneās arm, and yanked her up from the bed.
"What? You want to hit me?" Titus Zane laughed, her lips cold and sharp like a knife, piercing Nathan Mooreās eyes.
Even in disarray, she maintained her unique composure and pride.
This was what Nathan Moore hated most to see.
Sometimes, he would rather have her grovel at his feet, weeping and sobbing, confessing, "I was wrong, please, donāt punish me..."
He thought that only if she begged for mercy, he would let her go.
But she never did, even though her eyes showed fear, even though she was frightened, and sometimes her body quivered like chaff.
So, he utterly hated her feigned calmness.
A woman should be like Olivia Zane, tender and weak, making a man want to take her under his wings and protect her well.
Nathan Mooreās thin lips curved into a slight arc, a soft sneer followed.
"Titus Zane, donāt test my patience, if you provoke me too much, woman, I will hit you!"
His thin lips moved slightly in front of Titus Zane, uttering the most despicable words imaginable.
Especially the last three words, so mercilessly cruel.
Titus Zane scoffed coldly, unable to understand what her sister saw in this man.
Her lips curved slightly, "Fine then, Iāve never been hit by a man before, why not break that precedent for me?"
Having grown up together with Logan Ray like childhood sweethearts, their arguments were few and far between, and the refined and gentle Logan could hardly bear to lay a finger on her.
"Titus Zane, youāre asking for this," Nathan Moore uttered through clenched teeth, his large hand raised.
Titus Zane tilted her face up, resignedly closing her eyes.
"Nathan, no..." As Olivia Zaneās cry of alarm fell, so did the manās large hand.
