Chapter 37: 37. Logan is a gentleman; he takes great care of my feelings."You mean..." Titus Zaneās heart raced, his fingers tightening involuntarily around the magazine.
"Yes," Olivia Zane bent her lips with a light touch, "Consequences of a drug allergy, leading to acquired heart disease."
Titus Zane finally understood why Nathan Moore, disheveled, had rushed into the night holding his sister, and later, why he turned into a beast...
It turned out that all this was a disaster of his own making. How cruel it was for a woman, to not be able to give herself fully to the man she loved the most.
"Iām sorry..." Titus Zaneās lips, devoid of color, trembled as he spoke, his voice quivering.
Beyond these pale words, she didnāt know how to make amends for the wrong she had done.
"Why apologize, even though I canāt consummate the marriage with Nathan, thereās always my sister," Olivia Zane smiled at the corners of her lips, her magnanimity once again made Titus Zane deeply ashamed.
He gazed at her, dumbfounded, not knowing what to say for a moment.
"Sis, thereās something Iām really curious about... can you tell me?" Olivia Zane hesitated before speaking.
"What is it?"
"Itās just..." Olivia Zane seemed embarrassed, as if she wanted to say something but found it hard to speak out, eventually biting her lip and forcing herself to ask.
"How is Nathan different from Logan?"
Seeing Titus Zane didnāt grasp her meaning, Olivia Zane had to be more direct, "I mean, in bed." She explained a bit further when she saw Titus Zane frown.
"You know, Iāve only been with Nathan, so... Iām really curious..."
When it came to the affairs of the bedchamber, Titus Zaneās demeanor instantly returned to its previous coolness, lowering his sight to the magazine in hand, his voice as chilly as ever.
"Logan is a gentleman, very considerate of my feelings, unlike that beast..."
Logan Ray was a gentle and attentive man who had looked after her with care during all these years abroad, never pressuring her to do anything.
"Sis!"
Before Titus Zane could finish speaking, Olivia Zane interrupted him urgently, her voice carrying a hint of warning.
"What, arenāt you very curious?" Titus Zane lifted his gaze to look at his sister opposite, his voice tinged with evident sarcasm.
Just now she was dying of curiosity, and now she seems like she doesnāt want to hear more.
"Hehe... Sis, you must have drunk too much at the party and now youāre talking nonsense while youāre drunk," Olivia Zane laughed it off, then gave Titus Zane a meaningful glance. Turning her head, at the entrance of the villaās great hall, the man who was supposed to be playing cards at the club stood there in utter silence.
His handsome face was covered with a grim look, and his black eyes were intently fixed on her, the fury within them enough to destroy her.
"Nathan, youāre back." Olivia Zane wheeled her chair over.
"Hmm," he responded with a flat monosyllable, signaling his displeasure.
"Werenāt you out playing cards? Why did you come back so early?" Olivia Zane reached out to take Nathan Mooreās overcoat, placing it on her legs covered with a blanket, and wheeled her chair following Nathan Moore toward the coat rack.
"Bored, so I came back," Nathan Moore adjusted his tie, his lips parting with an unusual lack of tenderness.
Spring, having come out at some point, took the overcoat from Olivia Zaneās hands and hung it on the rack, followed by the suit.
Olivia Zane gripped the wheel of her chair tightly, her heart filled with an indistinct sentiment.
Ever since Titus Zane had the abortion, Nathan Moore seemed not as gentle and patient with her as before.
Without leaving a trace, she glanced at Titus Zane still seated on the sofa. Though still in the same spot, her clenched fingers and subtly changed expression starkly revealed her fear.
