Chapter 63 - Speak Honestly Lest You Get Hit

“Wow, so many rooms!” The taxi stopped in front of a villa, and Girl in the painting exclaimed at the rows of windows.

“A house has to be spacious to be comfortable,” Yuan Yao said with a smile, “You can pick any room you want to stay in later.”

They had agreed in the car to stay at his place that night.

As soon as they entered, Girl in the painting rushed into the bathroom to try on her new clothes, while Yuan Yao poured a cup of tea for Xu Huo and then sat down at the computer to get to work.

“This account address is still encrypted?” After fiddling for a bit, he became interested, “Usually, in such cases, this person is definitely not simple.”

Xu Huo watched his fingers dance on the keyboard, figuring it would take a while to get results, so he stood up and checked the three-story villa from bottom to top.

Standing by the window on the third floor, he saw a number “5” floating on an old tree dozens of meters away, and it kept rising until it reached “9” in a blink of an eye.

Murderous intent was everywhere.

Xu Huo closed the window and went downstairs.

“Done!” Yuan Yao called out from the living room, “This guy must be a newbie; probably had someone else set up his firewall.

“Seems like a player organization,” Yuan Yao said, flipping through the chat records on the computer, “This guy has been wanting to join, and it looks like he recently submitted a petition to join and is now a formal member.”

“What kind of petition?”

“Something like items, tickets, something that the Holy Sword Society would recognize.”

The two went to their rooms, and soon the lights in the villa were turned off one by one, plunging the entire building into darkness.

An hour later, a cat-like shadow silently slipped into the villa.

His palms touched down, his back arched high – he climbed the wall to Xu Huo’s room just like a real cat, opened the window, and landed noiselessly.

He revealed his claws at the shadow bulging on the bed!

Just as he was about to strike, a piece of darkness suddenly lifted from the wall, whipped up, and wrapped around his head!

Startled by the dark figure, he realized it was just a piece of paper upon touch, figuring he must have been discovered, he tore it off and lunged at the big bed!

However, at that moment, the covers on the bed sprang open, wrapping around his front!

The dark figure abruptly stopped, ready to retreat, but a leg suddenly shot out from the airborne covers, striking him right in the abdomen!

The kick sent him flying, blood spraying from his mouth and nose, slamming against the opposite wall.

Before he could land, a thin thread shot across the room, catching his right wrist and pinning him to the wall!

The shadow’s nails extended, but failed to cut the thread, and just then the lights in the room suddenly turned on.

He squinted his eyes, only to find that there wasn’t just Xu Huo in the room.

Besides the corner where a ragged woman was standing, another was crawling out from under the bed.

Yuan Yao, covered in dust, coughed and complained about the landlord’s lack of cleanliness.

He glanced at the wall and suddenly laughed, “Caught one!”

“Is this the person who’s been following us from the mall?

I don’t even know him, why is he following us?”

“There must be a reason.” Xu Huo got off the bed, sizing up the skinny man, “Turns out you have animal traits, are you from the Holy Sword Society?”

The skinny man clammed up, his eyes darting around the three of them before suddenly his pupils slit vertically.

Then, like a cat, he flexibly flipped upwards, breaking free from the thin threads, and hung upside down on the wall, his long fingernails growing out into claws deeply embedded into the wall!

He’s turned into a beast!” Yuan Yao shouted as he backed away.

The skinny man let out a ferocious beast-like growl and suddenly pounced towards him!

“Never learns.” Xu Huo leapt forward, pulling Yuan Yao aside, grabbing the man’s hand and dragging him forward.

As the man face-planted onto the ground, Xu Huo lifted his foot and stomped down hard!

“Bang!” The ground was stomped into with a foot-deep imprint.

The skinny man who had flipped away earlier jumped onto the bed, and seeing the footprint, he couldn’t help feeling frightened.

Looking up into those cold eyes, his animal instincts urged him to run!

But Xu Huo, who had been waiting for him in the villa, wasn’t about to let him escape so easily.

A sweep of his long leg flipped the man onto the bed, and grabbing his left arm, he gave a yank—a ‘crack’ sounded, and the whole arm went limp!

“Ugh!” The skinny man grunted in pain, swiping his claw towards Xu Huo’s face, but his wrist was caught in mid-air.

He arched his upper body, pushing away his opponent with both feet, and jumped towards the window without looking back.

At this moment, Yuan Yao, appearing out of nowhere with quick reflexes, propped up a stool.

The skinny man went straight into it, his head getting stuck in the window!

“Brother Xu, Quick!

I’ve got him!”

Xu Huo came to the window, about to pull the man back in, when suddenly several black snakes thrust out from below the sill, viciously pecking at his hand!

The sting made him withdraw his hand quickly, but when he looked, there was no wound.

During this brief moment, the skinny man was dragged out of the room by the overly long black snakes.

“Trying to run?” Xu Huo pulled out his dagger and jumped out after him, the cold light of the blade flashing, severing several black snakes in mid-air.

He pinned the skinny man to the ground, only to find that the black snakes that landed turned into bunches of hair.

“Ancient Medusa!” A woman’s voice rang out ahead of him.

He abruptly looked up, unexpectedly meeting a pair of lantern-like crimson eyes, a Giant Python opening its mouth wide to bite him!

Xu Huo’s eyes narrowed as he caught sight of the person closing in on him, hidden in the shadow of the snake.

He kicked the man beneath him aside and flung his dagger at the assailant!

Two smaller snakes intercepted the dagger in mid-air, hissing threateningly at him.

Xu Huo grabbed the two small snakes, ignoring the Giant Python biting down on him from above, and with a forceful yank he pulled the person opposite towards him.

As he choked his opponent’s throat, the virtual shade of the Giant Python enveloped both of them, but upon touching the ground, it turned into a cloud of dust and vanished in the blink of an eye.

“Hair.” Xu Huo casually threw away the strands of black hair and looked down at the woman struggling in his grip, “I’ll ask again, are you from the Holy Sword Society, and how did you find out I’m a player?”

“Holy Sword Society?

I’ve never heard of it!” said the woman with hair braids reaching her ankles, panting with difficulty.

She clutched desperately at Xu Huo’s hand, her eyes filled with hatred, “You’re the one who kidnapped my brother, where did you take him?”

“If you’ve killed him, I won’t let you go!”

Xu Huo grabbed her cheeks with his other hand to silence her, “You’re already in my hands, how do you plan not to let me go?”

“Speak truthfully, and spare yourself a beating.”
