Chapter 69 - Fierce Little Girl

Xu Huo kicked away the hand that was about to reach for the toy gun, threading the control string through the trigger guard and taking the gun into his possession.

Though a prop with an owner couldn’t be used directly, holding it in one’s hand could prevent others from using it!

Ma Yu knelt on one knee on the ground, knowing that he couldn’t snatch the prop back.

Had he not been wearing an item, he probably wouldn’t have lasted until now.

These players were cleverer than he had thought, and taking them on one by one had been a miscalculation!

Just as he was planning his escape, Huang Junjie, who had been fighting with another Holy Sword Society player, suddenly came crashing through a wall hole!

Ma Yu lunged at Huang Junjie, his bulging arm striking like a great snake towards his throat!

Huang Junjie, preoccupied with the enemy in front of him, failed to notice the sneak attack in time.

He narrowly dodged the strike, but his throat bore several bloody scratches.

He parried the follow-up attack with his bamboo sword and started to look for Xu Huo.

“Is this long-haired man my opponent?” he wondered.

“Did he let his guard down and let the enemy escape?”

No sooner had this thought flashed through his mind than he saw a shadow swiftly pass by his side, body-checking the player who had just been chasing him and sending him flying into another room!

The two disappeared into a vacant room, blocking Huang Junjie’s line of sight so that he couldn’t see what happened next, but he soon heard a “crack,” followed by the sound of a heavy object hitting the ground.

Huang Junjie let out a slight sigh of relief; the two-on-two turned into a two-on-one.

Ma Yu must have heard it too, for he immediately distanced himself from Huang Junjie and pulled out a whistle to blow forcefully!

The high-pitched sound, beyond the range of ordinary human hearing, pierced through the entire building.

Soon after, Liu Jia’s voice came quickly through the headset, “The woman on the crane has climbed down.”

Huang Junjie paused, just as the tide of the battle had turned, it dipped sharply again.

“Kill him first,” Xu Huo said as he flew past, already closing in on Ma Yu with a ghostly flicker in his hand.

Seeing the dagger again, Ma Yu couldn’t help but sneer, “Normal blades are useless against me…”

His words were cut short and his voice rose in pitch as the dagger that had been aimed at his belly suddenly jerked upward, thrusting towards his jaw!

Ma Yu reflexively threw his head back in alarm, unavoidably catching a slash on his chin, then got hit by a knee to his gut, crashing into the wall!

He was born frail and remained weak even after becoming a player.

The potions were gone, and if it hadn’t been for that female player named Cao Yan who wanted to brainwash him, he probably wouldn’t have survived until now.

“We can talk about this later.” Zhou Ning suppressed her anger and said to Hu Wenhao and the others, “Let’s split up and proceed as we previously planned.”

“Can the person inside be released?” Yan Jiayu asked while squatting beside the hair cocoon on the ground.

“I am worried that I won’t be able to control him once he’s out.

This person doesn’t seem like an ordinary player,” Zhou Ning said.

Accompanied by the cracking sound of bones, the hair cocoon caved in, along with a strange gurgling noise emanating from it!

Zhou Ning was almost stunned by the blow.

The sensations fed back through her hair were faint, but when Yan Jiayu struck with the Stone Stick, it was as if Zhou Ning herself had been hit with a muffled club, causing a dull ache in her head!

Seeing her raise her arm again, Zhou Ning quickly cut the hair and retreated.

Without the binding force of the hair snake, the posh young man inside struggled and tore open the cocoon, revealing a mouth to roar furiously, “I will have you cut into thousands…”

Before he could finish, there was a sharp crack at the back of his head, and he fell flat on the ground, blood seeping from within the hairs.

“Is he dead?” Hu Wenhao and the others were shocked by Yan Jiayu’s savage act.

The girl looked young, slim, petite, quite cute, spoke frankly, and no one expected her to be so ruthless when she took action!

“Not yet,” Yan Jiayu swung the Stone Stick and walked over, delivering another blow to the young man’s head before saying, “Now he truly is dead.”

She shook her head, lamenting, “Dishonest people must be punished.

I hope he can repent for his misdeeds after death.”

The group was momentarily lost for words.

Meanwhile, faint voices came from a distance, “What’s this stuff blocking the door?

They’ve blocked it all off!”

The building was unfinished, with no sealed doors or windows.

The interior was a grid pattern.

As per Xu Huo’s advice, Zhou Ning had sealed some doorways and windows with her hair in advance.

If the members of the Holy Sword Society came in large numbers, they would have to find a way to separate them.

Yan Jiayu, listening intently, said, “The two over this way are mine.”

If someone comes, I’ll protect you,” Zhou Xiao whispered to the Girl in the painting.

The Girl in the painting nodded.

In the darkness, starting from her shoes and curling up from the bottom to the top, as if a sheet of paper, she quickly transformed into a tall woman in high heels and a long red dress within a few seconds.
