Chapter 86: Chapter 86 Alien Attack"Those who answer incorrectly will be punished,"

the doll’s voice suddenly sharpened, and the two people standing behind the door changed color and made a dash for the windowsill at the same time!

Almost the moment they jumped from the second floor, the office door burst open, and a shadow swiftly enveloped the two of them from behind!

At this critical juncture, Lin Pei managed to twist his body and grab the window ledge below, while Xu Huo, who was exposed mid-air holding onto the piano wire, became the Alien’s first target!

With time pressing, Xu Huo had no chance to swing his Sword; he had just taken out Bull Shield when that limb, pale like a frog’s, collided with him and sent him tumbling into a clothing store across the street!

The Alien, lying on top of the shield, caught the edges with both hands and opened its mouth to bite wildly at him below; Xu Huo dodged, all the while getting a clear look at its appearance — similar to a human face, but with eyes that seemed to have degenerated, the eyelids closed tight, the upper and lower ones stuck together, and saliva dripping from its teeth and tongue!

Xu Huo’s face was sprayed, and then with a knee, he flipped the shield over, and while the Alien flew over his head, he rushed out of the clothing store and ran towards the track in the middle of the road!

During the non-short distance, he inevitably stepped on a doll on the ground; as the scream sounded, the Alien burst through the window, following the sound in pursuit!

In fact, from the doll’s initial scream to the Alien’s lunge, not even a second had passed, but the disparity in speed between them was so great that as soon as Xu Huo’s foot moved off the doll, the Alien had already pounced right in front of him. Barely managing to raise Bull Shield in defense, he was sent crashing together with it against a tree next to the office building!

He ducked to avoid the Alien’s oncoming arm, but its human-like nails effortlessly sliced open the tree bark, carving several grooves... Xu Huo instantly realized that whether in terms of speed or strength, he was no match for the Alien!

Taking advantage of the bending motion, he picked up a doll at his feet and threw it far away!

"Wah wah wah!!!"

"Wah wah wah!!!"

The sharp cries arose more than ten meters away, and the sightless Alien promptly turned direction and pursued the sound; not long after, it was distracted by the noise of a doll it stepped on itself, and it began to tear and bite frantically on the spot!

The hard ground was scratched with marks by its bare nails, with most surrounding dolls either torn apart or swallowed whole. But after a while, it hung its skeletal, deeply recessed chest and abdomen, and regurgitated all of them.

After throwing up, it squatted in place like an animal, skinny arms resting on the ground, raising its ears as if listening to something.

The town fell silent once more, and Xu Huo, carried by the piano wire, landed noiselessly on the roof of the office building. Watching this being, who bore the same shape as him but had become a complete beast, unsure how to proceed, there suddenly came the sound of a clock striking the hour from somewhere in the town:

"It’s twelve fifteen! It’s twelve fifteen! The night is beautiful tonight, and the moon looks pretty. Sensible people should be in bed asleep by now."

The Alien immediately ran towards the direction of the sound. Along the way, it stepped on a few dolls, picked them up, but seemingly realizing they were not edible, tossed them aside, then scaled a wall and leaped across rooftops toward a small building from where the sound emanated. Soon after it entered, the clock’s alarm stopped.

Xu Huo waited for a while without seeing the Alien emerge, then crossed the town by air and approached the standalone house.

Circling the house from the outside and finding no sign of the Alien, he went inside.

The light of his lighter was enough to illuminate the small room. Following the remaining wet footprints on the floor, he arrived in front of the fireplace and, after slight hesitation, stuck his head in to look up the pitch-dark chimney.

The chimney led straight to the outside, and one could vaguely see the dim daylight above; below was an unknown narrow passage, with walls on all sides covered in scratch marks from fingernails.

Xu Huo discovered that the passage beneath the chimney, unlike the chimney above, was made of metal, with rows of circular holes at fixed intervals on both sides, arranged in a grid pattern, looking like grates.

He exited the fireplace and surveyed the other fixtures within the house, then noticed a strand of hair peeking out from the corner of the ashes. Upon digging it out, he found a human head, missing half of its face.

However, nobody knows if overly noisy sounds will draw all the creatures at once, and the players dare not try it lightly.

Xu Huo paused in his stride. When he was knocked flying by the Alien earlier, the sound must have exceeded 80 decibels. Although the noise was brief, it indeed did not attract a second Alien. The distance Lin Pei mentioned was a possible explanation.

The Alien tonight and the one that tore apart a car at the east gate clearly were not the same one. With the species and numbers unknown, killing or confining them was too difficult, unless the original confinement for the Aliens had only one entry and exit, and in that case, they would just need to block the exit.

However, there were vast forests outside the town, and the Alien that attacked people at the east gate might not stay in the town. Could the cage that confined the previous Alien hold it back?
