After wiping out ten Cannibal Players and taking down a small organization, this cooperative effort turned out to be a huge success, and the loot was substantial.

Including Ma Yu’s items, the total was seventeen Potions, six props, eight Tickets, 2600 White Notes, and some jewelry and cash.

“All these were snatched from other players, and now they’re cheap pickings for us,” Yan Jiayu said, her eyes shining as she looked at the items on the table.

Huang Junjie and the others also smiled.

Many players would get on and off the train or enter and exit the copy with empty pockets, but this time they suddenly had so many game items; they were virtually overnight riches.

Xu Huo didn’t plan to bring out Old Eagle’s items, but he was willing to make some concessions in the distribution.

He picked a short blade prop, “I’ll just take this one.”

“You don’t want the toy gun?” Huang Junjie hesitated, “Among these props, the toy gun is top-notch.”

The other four were close-combat weapons like swords, which paled in comparison to the black bodysuit that could ward off blade strikes and the flame-spewing Dragon-Shaped Toy Gun.

They guessed that he might have picked up something the Bureau of Special Affairs had missed, but the initial agreement was only to capture a few Members of the Holy Sword Society and keep the risk to a certain level.

They were not involved in what happened after, so the Bureau’s raid on the Holy Sword Society’s den had nothing to do with them, and they didn’t have to take any risks.

And Xu Huo had planned this time’s operation, and Zhou Ning and the others had also been brought in by him.

It was only fair that he got a bigger share, both emotionally and rationally.

“No need,” Xu Huo said, “You guys split the rest.”

“I don’t want weapons,” Yan Jiayu said.

“I’m not used to using swords; I’m better with sticks.

Just give me a few more Potions and two Tickets.”

Liu Jia said somewhat awkwardly, “I actually didn’t help much; would it be okay if I just take one Ticket?”

“What are you talking about!” Before Xu Huo could respond, Yuan Yao slapped the table and said righteously, “Brother Xu called you here for a reason, we are all indispensable; don’t underestimate yourself.”

“Look at me, lying and winning beside the boss without blushing, have I?”

Here he was temporarily referring to Yan Jiayu.

Liu Jia looked at him curiously and hesitated before asking, “Are you really that scared?

Jiayu said you vomited so much you couldn’t even look at the corpse.”

Liu Jia was in contact with Yan Jiayu, and since both were young women, they easily grew close.

Having not seen the gruesome state of the corpses, she just felt that Yan Jiayu, such a cute girl, couldn’t possibly be as heartless and insane as Yuan Yao claimed, knocking people’s brains out at the first disagreement.

Yuan Yao, who intended to console her but was stabbed verbally instead, said sheepishly, “Well, there’s always a process of getting used to it.”

Yan Jiayu patted his shoulder encouragingly, her rounded-egg face beaming, “Come on!

I believe in you.”

Yuan Yao’s face turned green.

“I’ll take mine first.” Yan Jiayu started grabbing items; she took eight Potions and two Tickets.

Following her, Huang Junjie took the Dragon-Shaped Toy Gun, two Tickets, and three Potions, while Liu Jia took a long sword, a dagger, one Ticket, and one Potion.

Yuan Yao took another sword, one Potion, and one Ticket.

Even though Xu Huo had said he would only take a sword, they still left the bodysuit for him, and Yuan Yao said, “Brother Xu, no need for many words, make sure you include us again if there’s another opportunity like this.”

Xu Huo looked at Yan Jiayu, “You don’t want any props?”

Yan Jiayu displayed an innocent smile, patted the Stone Stick at her waist, “We who practice martial arts can take a beating; you seem a bit frail, so use this bodysuit—it could save your life at a critical moment.”

Being called weak by a girl in her twenties, and seeing her sincere expression, Xu Huo could only laugh without words and pushed the dagger across the table to her.

Yan Jiayu really didn’t care for those props and turned to give them to Huang Junjie, “You’re quite pitiful, take them.”

Huang Junjie didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Yuan Yao eyed the stone stick in Yan Jiayu’s possession, “Boss, what exactly is this prop?

It even has patterns on it, looks quite formidable.”

“Demon-Subduing Pestle,” Yan Jiayu drew out the stone stick and stood it upright in front of her, her expression becoming grave and her aura intimidating, “The carvings on it are in Sanskrit.

It’s a Buddhist ritual instrument.”

“As far as I know, a Demon-Subduing Pestle doesn’t look like this,” Xu Huo said indifferently.

Yan Jiayu’s solemn demeanor collapsed in a second, and she said with a chuckle, “All things are without a defined self, so why can’t a Demon-Subduing Pestle be a rolling pin?

I even named it the Stone Rolling Pin.”

The few people present all laughed, and Yuan Yao said, “That’s quite fitting, but why would a pretty girl like you get a Demon-Subduing Pestle?

You’re not a monk.”

“My profession is actually that of a monk,” Yan Jiayu replied happily, “A professional clergy.”

“She used to be a monastic, and now she has returned to secular life,” Xu Huo added.

Yan Jiayu nodded, “When I left the mountain, my master told me that my mortal ties weren’t yet severed so I could only return to secular life, but I feel like my connection to Buddhism is still quite deep.”

She wiggled the Demon-Subduing Pestle, “If any of you need enlightenment, feel free to speak up.”

Yuan Yao immediately withdrew his curiosity and said, “We’ve hit a big score this time; we definitely have to celebrate.

I’ll foot the bill.

Order whatever you want!”

“My time limit is almost up; I have to enter a dungeon with someone else soon, so I have to leave shortly,” Liu Jia said.

“Is it someone from the Special Bureau who’s taking you?” Xu Huo interjected.

Liu Jia nodded, “My special abilities aren’t very lethal, and I’ve just started learning combat skills; I missed the timing for the first dungeon, so I have to be guided by someone.”

Not every player was like Xu Huo, who relied on brains, or like Yan Jiayu, who relied on brawn—most players were just ordinary people.

Liu Jia had met many White Notes players over these days, and her mindset had become very stable.

“Then I wish you success, and let’s have a meal together when you’re back,” Xu Huo said.

Liu Jia responded with a smile.

Aside from her, Yan Jiayu had to leave too; she wasn’t from Ting City and needed to catch the early bus.

As for Huang Junjie, he needed to stay and wait for his facial injuries to heal before leaving.

Xu Huo had rented a three-room apartment and offered one of the rooms to him.

However, this upset Yuan Yao, who had intended to shamelessly move in, but by the afternoon he had moved to an apartment opposite Xu Huo, knocking on the door with pride, “I bought it.”

Huang Junjie was an elite too, successful in his career, but a house for one or two million wasn’t something you could buy as though it were cabbage.

“Ever since becoming an Evolver, I’ve felt that ordinary life is far removed from me.

Yet you, shamelessly wealthy, brought me back to reality,” he mused, “This world still needs money.”

Yuan Yao, lounging with a leg over the other, directed the delivery staff to set the table with food, and then opened a couple of bottles of red wine worth tens of thousands, “Come on, don’t be shy, everyone raise your glasses to celebrate our triumphant beginning!”

After the feast, Huang Junjie went to rest, Yuan Yao returned to his own place to play games, and the Girl in the Painting, unhappy about having her mobile phone confiscated, refused to clean and instead stuck herself to the wall.

With the place quieting down, Xu Huo logged into the Pioneer Player forum to check out newly posted information, and a post about trading props caught his eye.
