Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Better to Die Seeking Life"It’s simple, forty people in a group, stand apart." Brother Feng scanned the people around him, "Not many have died in this mall, which is good news."

His cryptic statement only heightened the fear among the already panicked crowd, who huddled together, not daring to move.

Seeing them procrastinating, Brother Feng scoffed and fired a shot into the air, "You have five minutes. After five minutes, anyone extra will be killed!"

The mall erupted into chaos, as people scrambled like frightened rabbits, grouping with both acquaintances and strangers, some loudly calling out numbers. If there was a shortfall, they dragged others in from nearby; if there were too many, they pushed people out. In no time, the two hundred or so people split into five groups. Unable to come up with forty, the remaining people yanked women and children out of pre-established groups to make room for themselves, creating an even more chaotic scene than before.

Brother Feng and his two companions watched the scene with interest, looking pleased.

"At least let the children join a group!" a mother pleaded with those around her, only to be shoved aside by a burly man, both she and her child falling to the ground.

"Why the hell did you push her!" someone nearby protested, but the burly man sneered, "If you’re so noble, why don’t you go and take her place?"

The protester immediately fell silent.

At least twenty elderly, women, and children were pushed out, left without recourse. Two of the elderly even knelt and kowtowed, begging Brother Feng and his companions to spare their lives.

The once bustling mall fell into a hushed stillness, save for the cries of women and children and the pleas of the elderly, which sent shivers down one’s spine.

"The rest of us, including you three, make up thirty-something people, let’s count that as one group," Xu Huo said at this time, locking eyes with Brother Feng, "Save our bullets for others. There might be other players around."

Brother Feng’s smile faded, "Think this through. If you insist on being in the same group with these people, you are responsible for them."

Xu Huo was expressionless, "I don’t find it amusing to toy with non-Evolvers. Get to the point."

Brother Feng gazed at him for a few seconds before laughing, "Haha! I appreciate smart people like you! All of you, come this way."

The rest hurried to gather behind Xu Huo and his group. Duck Tongue Cap and the female player also moved closer, giving Xu Huo a slightly ashamed glance before quietly standing to one side.

Unexpectedly, Brother Feng and his two companions also walked towards them, maintaining a certain distance before calling out and instructing the other four groups to move farther away.

Once a reasonable distance separated the five groups, Brother Feng glanced at the time and muttered that it was about time. He then looked up at Xu Huo, "You probably don’t know the origin of this Black-White Roulette. It is a tool of the Funeral Master, a Rank-A Member of the Guile Sound Knights. The game’s first half hour is a solo life-and-death round."

"After half an hour, if there are more than a hundred people left in the Roulette, they will automatically enter the second round which is a multi-person life-and-death game, with each round requiring at least twenty-four people."

"So, there’s no need to form groups of exactly forty?" Duck Tongue Cap asked impulsively.

Brother Feng smiled, "Of course not necessary. The key is to earn a chance to survive; others are insignificant."

And now, the five people who possessed the chance of survival were already standing together.

The others who had been intently listening to their conversation were startled, but within a second, a few quick-witted individuals tried to join them. However, before they managed to take a few steps, the black-and-white checkered floor started to twist, the two colors blending and forming several roulette wheels with diameters of over ten meters on the ground. Those who stepped onto the edges exploded into gore with a loud bang!

The shocked crowd backpedaled, causing some to be pushed out of the Roulette’s boundary, meeting their demise in quick succession. In the blink of an eye, the mall’s floor was slick with blood.

Xu Huo glanced at the scene before returning his gaze downward, observing the newly-formed Roulette beneath his feet. Unlike the small Roulette he had seen in the pure white space, this one had its needle stuck to the surface, spinning on the ground like a beam of light since its appearance, without stopping.

He looked up at Brother Feng, "Is this round played by taking turns to spin?"

"Correct," Brother Feng stamped his foot, trying to step on the swiftly passing needle, "When the time comes, the needle will stop. Every time it stops, someone must come to the center of the Roulette to spin the needle."

"We have five people here, hence five chances to survive. However, if we want to solve the multi-person life-and-death game, relying on only five people won’t suffice."

He glanced at the people dodging behind them, "Everyone must take a turn. You’ve brought so many people in, will you go first?"

Xu Huo didn’t demur and instead asked, "When will the multi-person life-and-death game end?"

"I’m not sure about that," Brother Feng said, "The information I have is only this much."

Xu Huo scrutinized his expression and imperceptibly furrowed his brows.

Brother Feng clearly wasn’t being entirely truthful—they were trapped in the life-and-death game as well but showed no signs of anxiety.

The Black-White Roulette wasn’t just a simple sub-game. The Tickets were likely a way out. It was one thing to have a Ticket as a fallback, but these people didn’t seem interested in leaving—they genuinely wanted to solve the life-and-death game.

There had to be a reason they gathered so many people together.

His gaze circulated among the three of them, Xu Huo beginning to feel the situation was tricky.

Only upon encountering bona fide Rank-A Players did he comprehend the difficulty of dealing with players from outside.

These individuals were trapped by a Rank-A Player, indicating their skill. Inside the mall, the three appeared to stroll casually, yet they cooperated with tacit understanding, not overlooking a single blind spot in their vision.

From the beginning until now, he, along with Duck Tongue Cap and the female player, had been encircled by these three. If they tried to break out forcefully, they would likely be intercepted immediately.

Naturally, he couldn’t leave now that he was in the life-and-death game.

After a pause, he once again spoke, "Besides the rules announced by the Funeral Master, do you have any other relevant information?"

This time, Brother Feng didn’t respond.

"I can take the lead, but you wouldn’t want to waste a survival chance either." He continued, "If this life-and-death game spins down to the last person and still doesn’t stop, what do you plan to do?"

"What else can we do? Of course, use the Tickets to leave," the tall man in the camouflage outfit spoke up, "You’re being sneaky, trying to pry information from our lips."

"If you intended to use the Tickets, why wait until now?" Xu Huo remained composed, "All this effort, and you’re willing to walk away empty-handed?"

Brother Feng pondered for a moment and then said, "I’m not sure about other things, but the Funeral Master’s tool is named ’Better to Die Seeking Life’."

"That name is laughable, who would seek death if they can live?" Wang Chaoqing muttered.

"The Funeral Master, of course, hopes others seek death," Brother Feng casually remarked, glancing at the slowly decelerating needle on the ground, and gestured for Xu Huo to go ahead.
