Chapter 111: 111, Nathan Moore said, how you used to coax Logan Ray, now coax me the same way (2000)Titus Zane was really worried about Sophie Foster.
Without parents and so young, lacking experience in dealing with the world.
What if Nicholas Croft, upset by her trouble, stopped caring about her altogether... What could the little girl do?
He tried calling Sophie Foster, but her phone was off, and he couldnāt inquire with Nicholas Croft because he didnāt have his number.
In desperation, Titus Zane had no choice but to boldly ask Nathan Moore for information.
At the dinner table, Olivia Zane, as always, helped Nathan Moore with the dishes. Titus wanted to speak several times but couldnāt, finally following Nathan when he went to his room to change clothes.
Knock knock... Just as Nathan Moore returned to the bedroom, the door sounded.
Pausing in buttoning his shirt, he turned his head and frowned at the door.
"Come in!" A concise and brief command, reflective of his business demeanor.
Titus Zane pushed open the door, standing at the entrance, hesitating whether to enter.
This bedroom was not unfamiliar to her; it used to be the love nest of Nathan Moore and Olivia Zane.
In the early days of their marriage, she slept in the bedroom bed, keeping vigil for her sisterās wedding chamber...
"What is it?" He asked indifferently, without much emotion.
"Um..." Titus Zane hesitated, biting her lip, pondering how to start, but seeing Nathan Mooreās furrowed brows, she knew that he was losing patience.
So, before he sent her away, she quickly said, "I heard that Sophie injured someone,"
"And then?" Nathan Moore interrupted before she could finish, his raised eyebrow carrying an indiscernible emotion.
"I want to ask if she needs to bear any legal responsibility..." Titus Zane asked haltingly.
She actually wanted to ask Nathan Moore if Nicholas Croft had intervened to settle things for Sophie Foster.
"Really want to know?" Nathan Mooreās eyebrows rose again.
Titus Zane...
Felt that Nathan Moore was somewhat unusual today, usually he wouldnāt patiently converse with her, nor be so amicable.
Titus Zane nodded.
"Yes."
"Come in." Nathan Moore gestured with his index finger, holding the handle, Titus hesitated but still entered, driven by her deep concern for Sophie Foster.
She didnāt have many friends in the country, and actually, Sophie Foster was the first one.
"Help me with this." Nathan Mooreās gaze flicked, indicating that Titus should help him with his shirt buttons.
After hesitating briefly, Titus stepped forward in front of Nathan Moore, her delicate, fair fingers danced between the button and the hole.
The unhurried pace, her gaze dropping on the task at hand, her expression was not so much focused as it was proficient.
She must have often helped Logan Ray with his shirt buttons.
Nathan Moore slightly furrowed his brows.
"Done," said Titus, withdrawing her hands, standing opposite Nathan Moore without looking up.
"Too tight, undo the top three."
Titus Zane...
Her hanging fingers tightened, she lifted them again, undoing the top three buttons on Nathan Mooreās neckline.
Nathan Moore stretched his shoulders, the neckline slightly splitting open, exposing his pale, well-built chest to Titusās gaze.
Nathan Mooreās skin was very fair, unlike the healthy tan of an athletic man, but his muscles were firm, especially when he deliberately stretched his arms, making his shirt bulge, Titus Zane pursed her lips, lowered her gaze, avoiding the texture of Nathanās exposed muscles.
"Seems like too many were undone, better button them up."
Nathan Mooreās voice resonated above her head, knowing full well he was making things difficult, Titus still raised her hand to refasten those three buttons.
Lowering her hand, she remained silent, standing in front of Nathan Moore, awaiting news about Sophie Foster.
"Tie." A terse word slipped from his thin lips.
Titus Zane was momentarily stunned, then raised his hand again, only to
"Whereās the tie?" Titus Zane asked Nathan Moore, lifting his eyes.
Nathan Moore gestured with his hand, "Over there."
Titus Zane knew there was a wardrobe in the bedroom, but it had never been opened.
He walked over and casually pulled out a drawer, where a stack of ties lay neatly.
Just as he reached out his hand, Titus Zane hesitated again.
Turning his head to look at Nathan Moore, "What color?"
"Whatever."
Nathan Moore stood in front of the floor mirror, motionless.
Out of habit, Titus Zane selected a dark red tie from the drawer, held it up towards Nathan Moore, then furrowed his brows, and picked up a dark blue tie, putting it back again.
His slender fingers glided over each tie, finally choosing a dark grey diagonal-striped tie.
His demeanor, coupled with this color, appeared more solemn.
Titus Zane, holding the tie, stood in front of Nathan Moore again, and Nathan Moore then slightly leaned forward of his own accord.
The dark grey tie lay across Nathan Mooreās neck, and Titus Zane began tying the knot.
His expression focused, his fingers nimble.
"Such a hassle, hesitating over choosing a tie," Nathan Mooreās disdainful voice sounded from above, and Titus Zane didnāt react, still focused on tying the knot.
If he had looked up, he would have seen Nathan Mooreās finely shaped lips sparkling like stars.
"Now you can tell me," after finishing tying the tie, Titus Zane stepped back maintaining a safe distance between them.
"Just doing such a trivial little thing and already asking for a bargaining chip?" Nathan Mooreās lips slightly cured, carrying a meaningful depth.
"What else do you want?" Titus Zane lifted his cold eyes to meet Nathan Mooreās gaze.
He knew Nathan Moore wouldnāt easily tell him, but he didnāt expect him to use such a childish issue to trouble him.
"Come here." Nathan Moore once again gestured to Titus Zane with his fingers.
Titus Zane exhaled deeply and stepped forward, standing in front of Nathan Moore, lifting up his cold eyes to meet his gaze.
"Hmm," Nathan Moore indicated his own lips lightly.
Titus Zane furrowed his brows, puzzled.
"What?"
Nathan Mooreās eyebrows raised, "Make me happy and Iāll tell you."
Titus Zane...
Really wanted to say with dignity to Nathan Moore, I donāt want to know anymore!
But, genuinely worried about Sophie Foster, he had no choice but to continue tolerating.
"How can I make you happy?"
"How you used to make Logan Ray happy, do the same to make me happy now," Nathan Moore shamelessly said.
Titus Zaneās hands hanging by his sides tensed, he took another deep breath and grabbed Nathan Mooreās shirt collar, tiptoed, and his moist pink lips met the corner of Nathan Mooreās, then quickly pulled away, and also let go of his hands.
"Is that okay now?"
"Is this how you usually appeased Logan Ray?" Nathan Mooreās lips curled up with a trace of scorn.
Looking at Nathan Moore, Titus Zane took a deep breath, seemingly to calm his own anger.
"What? You canāt even appease a man properly and yet you expect me to disclose information to you?" the scorn in Nathan Mooreās eyes intensified, Titus Zane clenched his teeth, made up his mind, and stepped forward again, grabbing Nathan Mooreās shirt collar, and kissed his thin lips directly.
Nathan Moore lowered his gaze, his black irises focusing on Titus Zaneās slightly trembling curled eyelashes, his delicate and turned-up nose, and... her persistently switching angles, sucking lips.
With an extended arm, he tightly clasped Titus Zane towards himself, yet did not reciprocate, letting Titus Zane skillfully kiss his thin lips.
