Chapter 164: 160, come up, sit at the front."Mom, why are you still letting her stay with us!" Olivia Zane looked up dissatisfiedly at her mother and asked loudly.
"What do you know!" Ariana Evans glanced at her, her face changing from its usual tender benevolence as she walked to sit down in front of the couch, "How could we keep her tied to us without a bit of warmth?"
"Do you think you can keep her by doing this?" Olivia Zane turned her wheelchair to face her mother and continued to question dissatisfied.
Ariana Evans glanced at her indifferently, impatiently saying, "Enough, there are no outsiders here, stop pretending, itās such a hassle."
"Mom, Iām asking you, why donāt you answer me!" Out of anger, Olivia Zane threw off the blanket covering her legs, stood up from the wheelchair with a flourish, and strode towards her mother. With such a decisive and vigorous pace, who would believe she was supposed to be immobile?
"Canāt you be more careful, your father is still at home." Ariana Evans frowned unhappily, clearly at a loss.
Olivia Zane sat down next to her mother and said petulantly, "Wasnāt it you who told me to stop pretending!"
"Canāt you keep your voice down!" Ariana Evans fondly poked her daughterās forehead and whispered, "What are you going to do if your dad sees, how will you explain!"
"Whatās there to explain, just say I was never paralyzed in the first place." Olivia Zane, wrapping her motherās arm, said nonchalantly.
"You!" Ariana Evans was once again at a loss.
"Ariana, hasnāt the person left yet? Why havenāt you come up to rest?" Julian Zaneās voice sounded from the staircase and he appeared at the corner of the stairs, causing both Ariana Evans and her daughter to startle, exchanging panicked glances.
It was too late for Olivia Zane to sit back in the wheelchair, on instinct, their hands tightly clasped together, they looked frantically at the man descending the stairs.
Titus Zane walked out of the villa area alone; it was already night, with hardly any vehicles on the roadāonly private cars rushing past.
Standing by the roadside, Titus Zane checked her watch, realizing it was almost 9 PM. She blamed herself for being careless, for not having thought to ask her master to come pick her up.
Now, with her trusty little companion not by her side, standing in the familiar city, she didnāt know who to turn to for help.
As she was pondering what to do, a domineering SUV appeared from nowhere and stopped in front of her.
Titus Zane instinctively looked up; the car window rolled down, and Nathan Mooreās stern face came into view.
"Get in." Just two brief words, emotionless, much like his expression at the moment, looking straight ahead, not even glancing at her.
After looking at Nathan Moore, Titus Zane hesitated no longer and walked towards the back door.
At times like this, under these circumstances, whatās there to be so pretentious about!
Just as her hand touched the handle, Nathan Mooreās voice rang out again.
"Sit in front!"
Titus Zane...
She tilted her head slightly, looking through the lowered window into the driverās cabin at the man inside, somewhat slow to react.
"Sit in front!" The tone was absolute, as imperious as ever.
Titus Zane looked down, her lips curving into a faint smile, finding it somewhat ridiculous. In the past, the co-driverās seat was Olivia Zaneās privilege; she was never qualified to enjoy it!
Nathan Moore furrowed his brows, looking at the woman standing behind through the rearview mirror, his tone becoming displeased when he spoke again.
"Do you want to stand in the street till dawn!"
Titus Zane pursed her lips again, took a deep breath, shook her head, and walked back to the passenger door, and without further ado, she got in.
Since he didnāt mind, she shouldnāt either. Itās just a ride, nothing more.
