Chapter 249: Why Did You Attack Earth?

For his help in the past; I should at least give him a chance.’ She thought, weighing the tactical advantage of having a potential Supreme Heaven cultivator as an ally against the risk to Mirabella’s heart. Exhaling softly, the radiant matriarch opened her mouth to deliver her final decree."Ok, I hope you won’t hurt my daughter... But." Genevieve’s ethereal features hardened, the radiant warmth of her aura shifting into something heavy and suffocating. Her expression suddenly turned dark:

​"Why did you order that bitch Lamashtu to attack Earth?"

​"Huh?"

​With the crushing, sun-forged pressure suddenly gone from his shoulders, Julian raised his head to her, genuinely caught off guard.

​"I wasn’t the one who ordered her... Both of you are enemies, so when she got the news you ran to Earth with your daughter, she made it her target and attacked it, due to this, Galaxy Fall descended to protect the life forms on that world. It has nothing to do with me." Julian quickly explained, detailing the cosmic trigger that had forcefully integrated Mirabella’s peaceful home world into the brutal, system-governed reality of Galaxy Fall. It was an automated defense mechanism, a planetary shield activated by the presence of an apex predator.

​’That Bitch is already this powerful... She should be a King Cultivator now, or maybe at the peak King stage.’ Genevieve thought, holding her jaw as she calculated the threat level of her ancient rival. The power scaling of the higher realms meant Lamashtu was a walking extinction event.

​"Yes... Forget about her, if she tries to hurt Mirabella--" Julian began, his void energy surging defensively at the thought of his chosen bride being threatened.

​"--Stop there, My daughter is someone who likes to handle her own problems, you will only irritate her." Genevieve cut him off sharply. She knew Mirabella’s forged-in-fire independence; offering unsolicited protection would only make her daughter bare her fangs.

​’Oh, it seems she is helping me, I should take these tips.’ Julian thought. The Great King of the Aethelgards, a being of nightmares, humbly filed away the relationship advice and nodded his head in absolute solemnity.

​Genevieve exhaled, her glowing form flickering slightly as her energy reserves waned. "Lamashtu is too powerful for the current Mira... Seems I will have to assist her in the dark."

​"I can also assist her! With her help, I can get out of this prison--"

​"--Julian."

​"Yes, Ma’am." Julian answered instantly, his posture stiffening like a scolded child before a strict teacher.

​"Don’t think so far... And don’t forget I have a hand in your sealing. Do you think it will be easy to escape?" Genevieve asked, looking down at him with a gaze that reminded him just how thoroughly the ancient powerhouses had locked him away.

​"I have been meaning to ask, why did you assist that man?" Julian said with gritted teeth, his fist clenched so tightly his dark blood nearly seeped through his pale skin. The betrayal still burned after centuries.

​"Because of what you did on your 200th birthday." She said. And without waiting for another word, or offering any further explanation, her spiritual form began to dissolve into golden motes of light. She vanished with a final, echoing parting word:

​"Primordial Dragon, I sense your descendant’s aura around my Daughter... I hope this won’t be a disaster."

​With that, the voice faded away, leaving the Great Prison in heavy, echoing silence.

​"What I did?!" Julian looked up at the empty space in absolute confusion, as the abyssal darkness aggressively rushed back in to envelop the whole prison once more.

​"What I did? What did I do?" He yelled, getting to his feet. His voice boomed off the indestructible obsidian walls, cracking with genuine frustration.

​"Did you remember what made her turn against you in the past? Even sealing you?" The massive Hydra finally moved his multi-headed form from the deepest shadows of the darkness, scales grinding against the void.

​"Scared Lizard, you finally came out." Julian said, his breathing heavy as he sat back down on his dark throne, aggressively rubbing his temples to soothe a sudden, blinding headache.

​"What did I do that made her seal me here? Why can’t I remember!" He asked, a sliver of panic entering his voice. A divine sovereign Cultivator’s memory was absolute; to have a blind spot meant someone had fundamentally tampered with his mind.

​"So you don’t remember anything at all?" The Hydra asked in confusion, its ancient eyes blinking in unison.

​"You!! The only thing I remembered on that day was blood on the courtyard... But that’s a natural occurrence in the Aethelgard’s mansion... What happened before that?" He muttered, his mind flashing to images of crimson staining the silver stones of his ancestral home.

​"Blood in the courtyard is a natural occurrence? The Aethelgards are really ruthless... Do you think some of your brothers will know about this?" The Hydra asked, slightly unnerved by the casual admission of constant slaughter.

​"Those bastards little brothers of mine are too evil and corrupted, if I have the chance, I will kill them all... They also have a hand in my current predicament." Julian sneered, his void energy rippling with homicidal intent at the mention of his kin.

​"Wow! So many powerhouses went through so much trouble just to seal you here... Something huge must have happened that day. Anyway, forget about it, everything will reveal itself soon... As for Genevieve; she is just a soul piece, why didn’t you deal with her in one move--"

​The Hydra froze. The temperature in the prison plummeted to absolute zero as Julian shot him a glare. The King’s natural golden eyes violently inverted, turning bloodred with an apocalyptic fury. The huge Primordial Dragon and all the surrounding shadow soldiers trembled in fear, instinctively moving a step back from the throne.

​Julian exhaled a breath of frost, and shook his head; his eyes slowly returning to their natural, regal gold.

​"Why would you say such a thing? She will be my future Mother-in-law, why would I attack her?! Besides, she didn’t attack me, she even asked me to court her daughter." A small, chillingly genuine smile appeared on his lips, softening his otherwise lethal features.

​"Whatever happened in the past, she found out the reason, which is why she is giving me a chance... Once I get out of here, I will secure my bride, then eliminate all my enemies, especially that man!" He muttered with unyielding killing intent, clenching his fists.

​"Yes, We will assist you." The Hydra said, bowing its massive heads as thousands of red, glowing eyes appeared in the surrounding darkness, an army of void beasts awaiting their King’s return.

​"Thank you, Old friend."
