Chapter 18 - A One-Time Total Acquisition

The next morning, Chen Yang was up at dawn as usual.

Just like the day before, he immediately loaded a cart with three chicken coops full of rabbits and a basket of herbs, and set off for the county town.

He first came to Pujitang, planning to sell the herbs from yesterday; however, as soon as he stepped into Pujitang, he noticed the hosts looking at him rather oddly.

They must be talking about yesterday’s incident.

With an establishment as big as Pujitang having its sign smashed in front of everyone, anyone would react in this way.

However, Chen Yang didn’t mind.

It wasn’t his fault their pharmacists lacked good training.

Chen Yang shrugged his shoulders and continued forward with his basket.

“Sir, may I help you?” a host came up and asked.

“Um…

Just like yesterday, selling herbal medicine!” Chen Yang said with a smile.

The host looked at the herbs in Chen Yang’s basket with a complicated expression and reluctantly nodded.

“Alright, sir, please follow me.” The host gestured invitingly and then led Chen Yang to the room where Pujitang bought herbs.

Upon entering the room, it was filled with a very strong scent of herbs.

Also, around the room, many different colored snake leather bags were placed, seemingly all filled with herbal medicine.

“Pharmacist Wang, this gentleman wants to sell some herbs.

Could you please assess and purchase them?” the host said to a middle-aged pharmacist who was dozing in the room.

Assessing herbs, right?

Alright, alright!” The pharmacist suddenly woke up and quickly put on his glasses, ready to assess Chen Yang’s herbs.

Having awakened the pharmacist, the host left the room, leaving only Chen Yang and the middle-aged pharmacist.

“Could you please check these for me?

How much would you buy these herbs for?” Chen Yang walked forward, placing his basket in front of the middle-aged pharmacist.

The middle-aged pharmacist took the basket and started assessing the herbs, smacking his lips.

At first, the pharmacist’s expression was quite normal, but as the assessment progressed, his expression began to change.

Because the herbs Chen Yang had brought were all aged, top-quality goods.

Such high-quality goods hadn’t been seen by him in a long while.

“Cough cough, these are good quality herbs, but the quantity is a bit less.

I’ll give you a thousand yuan for them!” The middle-aged pharmacist coughed twice, then said very naturally.

“A thousand?

Yesterday I didn’t have such good quality herbs and I sold them for fourteen hundred, today these are all top-quality and you should at least give me eighteen hundred!” Chen Yang frowned as he spoke.

The man in front seemed clearly intent on shortchanging him.

Did you come to me selling herbs yesterday?

I don’t remember you,” the middle-aged pharmacist glanced at Chen Yang and said.

“Not me, it was Boss Li who sold them on my behalf yesterday!” Chen Yang said truthfully.

“Boss Li?” The middle-aged pharmacist paused as his eyes flickered, recalling yesterday’s event, “So you’re saying that you were the one who treated Old Master Li yesterday?”

Seeing Chen Yang nod, the middle-aged pharmacist’s attitude became somewhat more respectful.

“I’ll transfer it to you directly!” the pharmacist said, smiling as he took out his phone.

Chen Yang, without saying much, also took out his phone, showing his payment code.

Soon, with a beep, the money was transferred.

“All right, young man, I’ve transferred the money to you, seeing your looks you must be an experienced herb collector.

Make sure to bring any good herbs to me in the future, I’ll definitely give you a good price,” the middle-aged pharmacist said cheerfully.

“Sure, I’ll bring them over in the future,” Chen Yang nodded and then turned around with his mobile phone and left.

After leaving Puzhitang, Chen Yang drove his electric trike to the vegetable market.

Unexpectedly, just as he arrived at the market, he saw the middle-aged man who had said he wanted to buy his rabbit yesterday already waiting there with several young men.

“Hey, young fellow, you’re here early.

I thought you’d come later,” the middle-aged man said, putting a cigarette in his mouth as he approached to make conversation.

Chen Yang glanced over these people and didn’t immediately respond.

Instead, he jumped down from the trike, ready to unload the rabbits first.

“You all have been waiting here so early just to buy one of my rabbits?” Chen Yang said while he was busy.

He didn’t believe these people were waiting for him early in the morning just to buy a rabbit.

But he also couldn’t figure out what these people were waiting for him here for.

“Hehe, of course not.

I’m here today for a big business deal with you,” the middle-aged man said with a laugh after taking a deep drag from his cigarette.

“Oh?

What kind of big deal?” The middle-aged man’s words piqued Chen Yang’s curiosity.

“First, let me introduce myself.

My name is Wang De, and I’m the head chef and also in charge of procurement at the Lintianxia Hotel in the county!

These people behind me are my apprentices!” Wang De said cheerfully as he introduced himself, then began to explain his purpose:

“Recently, our Lintianxia is hosting a special guest, and this guest wants to taste some unique delicacies.

We’ve heard that you have wild game from the mountains, so we came to see if we could buy some from you.”

Wang De was very straightforward, and revealed his intentions outright.

Upon hearing Wang De’s purpose, Chen Yang also became interested.

Because he was aware of Lintianxia Hotel, it was the most luxurious hotel in the county!

If he could connect with such a grand hotel, then he would probably have no trouble selling any wild game in the future!

“How much do you want?” Chen Yang asked calmly on the outside, though he was pleased inside.

Wang De took another deep breath, then crushed the cigarette butt on the ground with his foot before coming over.

“Brother, we at Lintianxia will take as much as you have,” Wang De moved closer, looking down at the rabbits while speaking.

Looking at the lively jumping rabbits, Wang De’s eyes gleamed.

Being the head chef for Lintianxia Hotel, he naturally had a good eye for quality ingredients.

Just by looking, without needing to handle them, he could tell that Chen Yang’s rabbits were pure wild mountain rabbits that had never been fed pellets.

“Fine, I have thirty-six wild rabbits in total, each averaging about five pounds,”

“Since you want all of them at once, I won’t fuss over the exact amount.

How about a total of six thousand five hundred for all?” Chen Yang straightened his back and proposed to Wang De.

“Deal!

Let’s agree on the flat rate of six thousand five hundred,” Wang De, with joy written all over his face, immediately agreed.

Seeing the smile on Wang De’s face, Chen Yang knew he had quoted too low.

The other party was representing the Lintianxia Hotel to make the purchase, and he could have quoted a higher price.

“Young man, since we’ve made a deal, we’ll need you to make a trip to help bring all these rabbits to our hotel, so we can settle the account there,” Wang De said, patting the coop with a grin and a smile.

“Alright, I’ll come along with you,” Chen Yang nodded and agreed.

Then, with the help of Wang De and his apprentices, they loaded the coop onto the electric trike again.

After doing all this, Wang De and his fellows got into a black sedan parked nearby.

“Brother, we’ll drive ahead and show the way.

You follow us, don’t get lost,” Wang De shouted out the window to Chen Yang.

Chen Yang nodded, indicating he understood.

Afterwards, the sedan started and drove out of the vegetable market.

Chen Yang rode his electric trike, closely following behind.
