Chapter 320 - Office of the Town Management

The town wasn’t large, and it didn’t take long for Chen Yang to bring Wu Kexin to the mayor’s office.

The buildings here were rather old and shabby, much more so than the houses of ordinary folks around them.

Old as it was, the imposing air of the office was still palpable.

“Is this the place?”

Arriving at the entrance of the office, Chen Yang turned his head to look at Wu Kexin.

Wu Kexin lifted her gaze to the office building outside the window, nodded, and said, “That’s right, this is it.”

“Okay, then I’ll find a place to park.”

Chen Yang was driving a van now, not a tricycle.

Parking required finding an appropriate spot; he couldn’t just stop anywhere on the roadside like a tricycle, lock up, and be done with it.

Chen Yang hit the gas pedal and drove past the entrance to the office.

Then, not far away, he found a suitable parking space and parked the vehicle.

“Mayor, just how important is this person from the Gu Family?

It’s not like their head honcho has come, right?”

The two exchanged smiles and then walked inside.

Even though this administrative office was the primary authority over Liuhé Village, it was Chen Yang’s first time visiting the office complex.

As he entered, it was natural for Chen Yang to look around, aiming to familiarize himself with the various offices in the complex for future convenience.

Chen Yang followed Wu Kexin, looking around as he went.

Just as they were walking along the road inside the yard, they suddenly heard the roaring of car engines behind them.

Chen Yang and Wu Kexin both turned their heads to look and saw a convoy of five or six luxury cars entering the office complex in succession.

The old man at the door was registering each one.

In this town office, it wasn’t usual for very important figures or nobility to visit.

Now that they had arrived, Chen Yang knew that the people sitting in the convoy must be from the Gu Family.

Must be nice to have money,” he muttered quietly to himself.

Wu Kexin, who was by his side, overheard him.

In no time, you can do the same, and even more ostentatiously than them!”

Chen Yang’s face had been expressionless, but on hearing this, he couldn’t help but smile.

“I’ll take your word for it.”

Having said that, Chen Yang shifted his gaze away from the convoy and continued to walk forward, no longer paying it any attention.

Wu Kexin did likewise.

They headed toward the meeting room in the heart of the town.

The convoy’s roaring was quite loud, attracting everyone from the many offices at the workplace.

They came out to observe the situation with the convoy.

But this had nothing to do with Chen Yang, who just glanced at it, then casually followed Wu Kexin up to the second floor of the biggest building at the workplace.

About three or four minutes later, a group of more than ten people appeared from the stairwell.

The leader was a middle-aged man with a smiling face, making small talk with the ten or so people behind him.

She came across as very approachable.

Following the lady were several men dressed like bodyguards, and the others who were dressed differently consisted of two men and one woman.

The woman was about the same age as Wu Kexin and was very attractive, though she had the look of a mean character from a TV drama.

One of the men, Chen Yang recognized; it was Gu Ming, who had been causing trouble for Chen Yang in recent times.

The other was a man in his thirties, who had a fierce look and moved with the gait of someone well-practiced in martial arts.

“Mayor,”

As the group approached, Wu Kexin immediately greeted the middle-aged leader with a smile.

“Ah, Kexin, you’ve come quite early,”

The middle-aged man turned around and seemed surprised to see Wu Kexin.

“Hehe, yes, Mayor,”

Wu Kexin replied with a sweet smile, then introduced Chen Yang, “Mayor, this is the village name of Liuhe, Chen Yang.”

Upon hearing this, the mayor shifted his gaze from Wu Kexin and looked toward Chen Yang.

I heard from Kexin that you contributed a lot when Liuhe Village faced the disaster, and lately, you’ve been making a significant economic contribution to the village too!”

The mayor looked at Chen Yang with admiration and offered generous praise.

The mayor reached out his hand and warmly shook Chen Yang’s, and he didn’t stop with his words of commendation.

The mayor said in introduction.
