Chapter 14 - 14 You Are Just ScumTears slid down the corners of her eyes, yet she refused to give up struggling. He, on the other hand, had lost all patience and struck the back of her head with his palm. Darkness engulfed her vision as her soft body collapsed into his embrace.

He picked her up horizontally and placed her on the bed.

Up until now, Asher Land had never failed to obtain what he wanted, even though he used the method he despised the most—force.

He gazed at the adorable figure lying on the bed, a layer of desire glazing over his eyes.

Tonight, he would definitely savor her properly.

Sophie Smith opened her sleepy eyes, staring at the chandelier above, which glimmered with warm multi-colored lights. Like a sudden recall, she clutched the blanket and sat up abruptly.

Beside her lay that man!

The two were both unclothed, so what happened last night was obvious to her, even needing no thorough contemplation.

Asher Land's large hand pulled her back to lie beside him, as if nothing had happened, like he could remain unfazed no matter which woman lay next to him.

But she couldn't.

"Asher, you bastard, let go." His arm was strong, and no matter how she struggled, she couldn't break free from his embrace.

"What's with the yelling so early in the morning?" he frowned in displeasure. This woman, couldn't she see he was sleeping and behave herself a bit?

Her teeth sank viciously into his arm, prompting a groan as he pushed her away.

"You crazy woman!" Asher Land was enraged with shame. He had already given her enough face, yet she remained so inconsiderate of the situation.

She curled up at the corner of the bed, clutching the blanket, shivering pitifully.

For a moment, Asher's heart softened slightly. After all, it was her first time last night, and he wasn't exactly gentle.

Damn it! How could he feel compassion? This wasn't how Asher Land behaved—women to him were nothing more than trivial matters.

"I've already spoken with the production head. The lead female role in City of Desire is yours. You'll join the crew in a few days, and I'll announce it today."

What was this? Had she gotten this role through her body, by pleasing a man?

She still wouldn't say a word to him, resembling a rag doll devoid of pain or sensation.

"What does this expression mean? Did giving me your body wrong you somehow?" No woman had ever rejected him—only this woman was an exception.

"Asher, you're a scumbag!"

A scumbag? Very well, he wanted to hear her evaluation of him.

"Go on!"

"I don't want to see you for even a second." She looked elsewhere, uttering each word with precision.

"Unfortunately, that's not up to your wish."

She could plainly see the disdain and contempt in his eyes, as if what she said was a huge joke, one he could merely dismiss with a smile.

Sophie's mind was somewhat hazy at the moment. Everything happened too quickly, like a dream. She could no longer be the straightforward person she used to be, all because of this one man, this demon-like man.

Why? Why did he have to destroy her over and over again, just like four years ago!

She stepped off the bed, but the pain between her legs brought her down before she could stand properly, causing her to fall unguarded to the ground.

Enduring the pain, she picked up her clothes from the floor and headed to the bathroom.

While listening to the sound of water splashing in the bathroom, Asher Land was filled with anger. This woman was like a ticking time bomb strapped to him, likely to explode at any moment.
