"Oh." Sophie forced a calm nod, took a deep breath, and walked in.

But as soon as she stepped inside, a figure immediately caught her eye.

It's him again?

Why is it that she met him again just a day later? She tried so hard to escape, yet fate played a trick on her, making them cross paths once more. Heaven truly has a way of toying with people.

Asher Land was wearing a light blue casual suit and white cropped trousers, sitting in the examiner's seat, his slender fingers twirling a pen. There was an indescribable aura about him—he was a noble king, high above, while you could only look up from below.

He was strikingly handsome; Sophie had to admit this, for among the dozen or so people in the audition room, he was the one her eyes immediately landed on. His exquisite face was etched deeply into her mind, but the inner torment was something only she could understand.

After a while, she snapped back to reality—she was auditioning in front of so many people from the entire school, and Asher Land wasn't the only judge. It was open and fair, and perhaps she could try her best to fight for this role. Asher couldn't be biased against her due to personal grievances.

"Hello everyone, my name is Sophie Smith, the 'Sophie' from 'Sophisticated' and the 'Smith' from 'Promise.'"

The room fell silent. Two seconds later, Asher slowly raised his head.

His dark eyes appraised her with interest; finally, she came.

He had seen hundreds of people here, and at last, this little wildcat appeared. He knew she was a student at the Eastern Film Academy, which was why he came here for casting.

The Golden Era Consortium was the investor for City of Desire, and removing Hazel Quinn was his idea. As for the reason, only he probably knew.

Asher remained silent, his eyes fixed on her.

Sophie felt a bit nervous. As the chief examiner, Asher Land's indifference—did it mean she had no hope? Or was he angry about yesterday's incident?

He had said that if she became his woman, he could give her the role she wanted, but she refused. So now he wouldn't give her another chance, even if she wanted to rely on her own abilities.

Alright, she accepted the hopelessness. After all, who asked her to encounter Asher, this cunning man?

"The talent I'm showcasing for everyone is a crying scene. Although this is nothing for an actor, I can get into character in just five seconds."

Sophie's ability to get into character was well-known in her class, and her instructors often praised her in front of all the students.

Before the others could react, Sophie had already gotten into character, and sure enough, within a few seconds, tears streamed down her face.

Sophie cried intensely, tears flowing like a faucet. While reciting her made-up emotional lines, she wept uncontrollably, making her so-called talent show appear rather embarrassing.

Asher crossed his arms, watching her swollen eyes with interest, like a predator eyeing prey within reach, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

This woman has something intriguing about her.

Feeling uncomfortable under his gaze, Sophie unconsciously looked away.

"Fill out this form."

After a long pause, Asher handed her a form. Not sure what it was for, Sophie, who was still not fully recovered from her previous emotions, filled it out in a daze with her name, contact information, and finally signed her name in a blank space.
