Asher Land and Sophie Smith stepped out of the car together, surprising everyone. To see them emerge from the same car? Anyone with eyes could see there was something unusual about their relationship.

Asher Land exchanged a few words with the producer and then left her.

He was holding another woman’s waist, leading her toward the car, and their actions seemed somewhat intimate.

"Stop looking, go to the makeup room. The first scene is filming in an hour," the director approached and said to Sophie Smith.

Inside the makeup room, a few stars were already getting their makeup done, and Sophie of course recognized them, especially one she really liked.

"Sister Anna, hello, I’m Sophie Smith."

Anna was one of the top idol and skilled actresses in the country, not only beautiful but also with exceptional acting skills. Moreover, she was the youngest Best Actress in the country, a glory that made her shine brightly.

Anna glanced at her sideways and didn’t respond.

Sophie sensibly returned to her own seat. As a newcomer, it was most important to lower her stance, and she understood that well.

"Oh, so this is the so-called lead actress? Not much to see," a sarcastic female voice echoed in the makeup room.

Sophie remained silent.

"I don’t know what President Land was thinking, dropping Sister Hazel Quinn and choosing such an obscure nobody."

"Sister Anna, you, a Best Actress-level figure, playing just a second female lead, what a grievance for you."

Discussions erupted one after another; no one showed her a friendly face, and even her stylist looked at her with disdain.

Anna was the first to finish her makeup; she was quite exquisite, no doubt about that.

Anna smiled and walked over to Sophie Smith.

"An..." She was about to greet but was hushed by Anna’s gesture.

"I know, you are President Land’s woman. Don’t be polite with me; I can’t afford it," her voice was neither loud nor soft, just enough for everyone to hear. Her mouth still bore a smile, but it sent a chilling tingle through her.
