Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Unfortunately, There Are No IfsHe spoke a few words to her, but she didn’t answer him at all. She walked to the bed, lay down, and covered her body tightly with the quilt. Asher Land lost his patience, took three steps to the bedside and pulled her off the bed, throwing her to the floor. Sophie only felt like her whole body was falling apart, it hurt so much.

She endured the pain and stood up from the ground, but before she could steady herself, Asher Land approached her like a gust of wind, grabbing her by the collar and forcing her into a corner.

Sophie turned her head away, refusing to look at him.

If only time could rewind, she would have never attended the casting for "City of Desire," and she wouldn’t have met him.

"Asher Land, if you gave me another chance, I’d rather lose everything, have absolutely nothing, than meet you!..."

Sophie’s words were drowned out by Asher Land’s kiss, a vengeful kiss that made her feel unbearable.

"Asher Land, let me go!" Her teeth viciously bit down on his thin lips.

"Ugh..." Asher Land groaned in pain. This woman never stopped challenging his limits. Whatever she suffered, she brought upon herself.

The sound of water came from the bathroom. Sophie looked at the sinful marks all over her body and wished she could strangle herself.

After a long while, Asher Land came out wrapped in a black bathrobe.

"I want to stay at the school dormitory," Sophie said.

"Negotiating with me again?"

"I have a lot of schoolwork, so..." Sophie’s tone became softer. She learned the hard way that whenever she was tough, Asher made things difficult for her. So this time, she decided to make a small compromise, "I can be available whenever you need, but when you’re not around, can I stay at school?"

After saying this, she really wanted to slap herself twice.

Sophie, how can you be so lowly!

Listening to her pleading tone, a softness emerged in his heart.

Asher Land received a work call and, after changing clothes, went out the door.

She barely thought about anything else, quickly changed her clothes, and headed straight to school.
