Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Are You Satisfied with Embarrassing Me?She looked up, Asher Land’s gaze as cold as ice was staring straight at her, making her shiver from the bottom of her heart.

"President Land, is there something you need?" she asked calmly.

"Come with me!" His tone was commanding. Sophie Smith didn’t know what she’d done to provoke him again, but with everyone’s eyes on her, how could she dare to resist?

She had no choice but to follow him. Asher Land led her to the dressing room and turned to lock the door.

Sophie hadn’t even had time to react before she was forced into a corner by Asher Land.

"Asher Land!..." What on earth was he doing? She was about to perform the next scene, yet he conveniently left sinful marks on her body.

"Let me go!" She used all her strength to push him away, retreating to a corner and frantically adjusting her clothes.

Red marks dotted her pale neck, stubbornly remaining no matter how she scrubbed at them.

"Happy to humiliate me?" Sophie tightly covered her collar, trying to conceal those marks. She still had to perform the next scene under the watchful eyes of so many people. What would they think of her when they saw this?

Asher Land, the real culprit, strode out as if nothing had happened.

The others were already waiting on set, and with no choice, Sophie followed Asher Land out.

The marks on her were too conspicuous, and inevitably everyone’s eyes fell on them. She felt the impulse to find a hole to crawl into. Fortunately, Wyatt Sterling had left after finishing the previous scene. For some reason, she seemed to care about his reaction.

Everyone understood what had happened; the marks on Sophie’s body were Asher Land’s doing. Now everyone knew that Sophie was his woman, and his purpose was simply to assert his claim over her.

"Didn’t see that coming, Sophie. You really have some skills," Jessica Wood from the same crew approached. Normally, Jessica had a poor attitude towards her, always being sarcastic. Sophie thought she was going to make some snide comments again, so she didn’t plan on responding.

"When did you start clinging to President Land, the big sugar daddy?"

Sophie gave a light laugh, shook her head, and didn’t answer.

Jessica wasn’t deterred by her indifference, continuing on her own.

"I’ve been wondering how a complete novice like you beat Hazel Quinn for the lead female role. Turns out you’re climbing up via President Land. Oh, do you spend time with him every day? If you can, could you recommend me to President Land?"

Sophie was really amazed by Jessica’s audacity, acting so high and mighty even when asking for favors.

But come to think of it, if Asher Land could replace her with Jessica Wood, why wouldn’t she be glad to be free?

"I’ll mention you to President Land," Sophie replied.

"I think President Land will get tired of you soon. Compared to me, your advantages aren’t that obvious," Jessica said confidently.

Tired? She’d wish for nothing more!

When they finished filming the last scene, it was already nighttime. Sophie strolled along the neon-lit street, relieved that tonight Asher Land had work to do, so she didn’t have to face him. With that thought, her mood lightened considerably.
