16: Badass Old Man 16: Badass Old Man Though it was quite hard, Axel did not give up on it.

In only 15 days, his body adapted to the weight almost completely.

Even though he was expressionless, he often showed surprised expressions at such high progress.

Then, He started basic exercises again with the increased weight.

Every 10 days, the butler would increase the weight of the bracelet by 1 kilo.

The perks of having the demon bloodline in his veins were slowly showing now.

The butler shook his head, “You’re putting what I said in your head, not in your heart.” “In a real life-death combat, you have to leave every single parry, attack, block, or dodge to your body.

Your brain has different responsibilities.” “Your subconscious must handle most of the physical actions of the battle.

Your brain must think of something outside the box to finish things sooner or predict a dangerous move from your opponent.” “Fight, but do it without thinking.

Once you learn that, you can think as much as you want without hindering your battle prowess.” Axel cursed internally.

He was obviously lasting more and more time when fighting with the butler and he had gotten used to that weight.

The competition was already near, if not the damn butler would have continued to increase the weight of the bracelets.

Axel still stood no chance against the butler, he was like a deadly assassin.

He would fight in the most optimal way that made him able to kill his opponent the quickest.

It was more like a dog fight at times, sometimes, the butler would attack from high up, sometimes from behind.

He had to constantly think of the trick the butler would play next, which would in turn make his moves a bit slower, as the butler would take advantage of his overthinking.

That is why he would constantly lecture Axel to fight subconsciously.

For the first half of the month when his combat training with the butler started, every single attack that would land on Axel would shatter his bones; it wouldn’t be wrong to say each one of them was a serious injury.

He often lost his patience and cursed the old bastard unable to contain his anger, even foot soldiers aren’t trained that harshly.

But the old butler didn’t only train him in physical combat, sometimes he would train him in a completely dark room without a single speck of light, for the purpose of enhancing his other senses, he would have to sense the incoming attacks.

There were more peculiar trainings, some from martial arts worlds and some unknown to him.

But the old butler’s true nature was that of an assassin.

So, Axel, to a large extent, could now survive in a sudden Assassination event.

As the time of the competition neared even closer.

Vargas became even more ruthless towards him, unlike when he trained with William.

In front of Vargas, he didn’t even stand a chance, even with just pure physical might with limited prowess.

He could only last against the old monster as long as he allowed it.

Vargas also began to train him while using his pressure of a 2nd phase being.

The first time he faced that pressure he immediately fainted without even realizing what happened.

After that he realized that the pressure his father applied on him back then for a brief moment was probably less than even 1% of his real power, maybe even less.

7 days before the competition, when it was evening and his training was over.

The butler told him to rest for 3 hours then he would take him somewhere.

Three hours later he got ready, as he stepped outside the area of his mansion.

The butler was waiting there.

Seeing Axel outside the butler waved his hand and a whitish energy came out of his figure and surrounded Axel in a bubble shape and he started to float, Axel let out a surprised sound.

The butler stepped onto the air itself as if there was a platform right beneath his feet.

Vargas, with a stomp of his foot, shot into a certain direction, and Axel was automatically being dragged by him.

They were going at an astonishing speed.

Axel’s eyes moved to the butler’s foot.

It looked like a literal blur to him.

After an unknown amount of time running through the sky, they had reached deep into an uncharted forest.

Axel knew the name of the forest, there were multiple beast zones or danger zones in the great kingdom, this beast forest was being in the periphery of the Dusker Dukedom was called, the Dire Forest.

The butler turned towards Axel, more white energy came out from the butler as the sphere he was floating in became thicker and turned transparent for him to see everything more clearly.

The butler spoke in a serious tone, “Do not miss a single detail.” Axel’s expression also became stern as he nodded.

Vargas kicked the footing beneath him slightly as he jumped forward and landed onto the ground from almost 50 meters of height.

There was a large wolf-like beast in the ground, and Vargas landed 20 meters away from it as the ground caved in from the landing of his.

The creature woke up from its sleep and glanced towards the human that disturbed its sleep.

It howled loudly, looking at the moon shining above the sky, AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

A thin membrane of the same whitish energy covered Vargas as his expression remained unbothered.

The layer of the white energy bubble that Axel was floating in also became thinner.

Axel’s eyes widened at the sheer power from that casual howl of the beast, it wasn’t even an attack.

He knew for a fact that seekers were extremely overpowered, but to see such a display of supreme power could not help sire his greed heavily to become stronger.

Vargas waved his hand and the same white energy formed a short sword in his hand.

The old man put his right foot forward and a series of afterimages followed that train as his real body appeared right behind the gaint wolf, the beast howled madly in pain as a long straight cut appeared on its one side.

The beast immediately turned back and attacked with its front legs with full might.

The old man easily dodged it but the attack of the wolf almost destroyed everything in a 100 meter area, the shocks of it even reached him high in the sky as the floating white bubble was pushed back slightly.

The old man again with his strange movement appeared right in front of the Wolf as he threw a powerful punch in its lower jaw.

The beast was flung back 50 meters as a trail of destruction was left behind in the path.

The old man again made jump straight towards the sky, but he kicked his foot again in the air which propelled him even higher.

Then his short sword, made of white energy, changed shape; it turned into a bow and an arrow.

The old man shot the arrow straight towards the head of the beast as it barely stopped sliding backward from the previous attack of the butler.

The moon shone directly behind the old man as he was shooting the arrow.

This scene made Axel even more breathless.

The old man wasn’t just fighting; his every movement and attack exuded a sense elegance, a natural flow that was hard to define by simple words.

The old man’s eyes glowed a white color as he shot the arrow, the arrow without any resistance pierced the brain of the beast.

The entire head of the beast caved in from the sheer force of it.

The arrow made of white energy vanished from the old butler’s hand, and he gently landed his feet on top of a large tree as the moon continued to shine behind his figure from Axel’s point of view.

Axel could not help but arch his eyebrows as the view of the old man in his mind changed entirely.
