The Countās voice grew to a higher pitch, "Am I wrong? How else can this situation make sense?"
In this hopeless moment, the Count became desperate. He tried to defame Axel Nomrad and turn the situation to his favor. Since most of those present here were allied with the Duchess, they would also chime in to his acclamations, just for the sake of it.
As they also wore smiles, the narrative of this entire thing could be changed if all of them wished to; no matter what the truth was, there was no one to help the Nomrad family. This was the true power of the High Societyāconsequently, the actual influence of the Duchess.
But before the desperate plot of the Count could progress any further. A deep voice interrupted his wishful musings.
"Sigh, Count Magnus, it seems you donāt care much about your sonās life, do you?" stated Axel. The tip of his sword was sticking against the neck of Morin Drake, cutting into his skin ever so slightly.
Magnusās eyes narrowed, and with a deep inhale, he looked at the sparring section again. He almost forgot about the fact that his son and Axel Nomrad were still within the sparring arena. The othersā gazes shifted from Magnus to Axel in a similar manner.
Magnus growled, "Boy, what are you doing? Do not test my patience. Walk away from the arena. You have defeated my son, but how you have done it is still unclear."
Axel glared at the Count, his eyes scanned over everyone elseās expressions, and he noted down the motives everyone held in their hearts.
Axel iterated coldly,
"Do not test MY patience, Count Magnus."
"You either sign the agreed document, or I will kill your son right here and now." his words were like a final declaration, because death was also permitted in a knightly duel, as it was a traditional form of handling disputes between powerful seekers of two prominent forces.
Magnus had a bad feeling looking at those cold and emotionless eyes; his instincts warned him off something he could not discern, but then he let out a mocking laughter that resounded through the entire area and sneered, "You do not threaten me, boy. I am the one who does the threatening."
The Count only saw it as an empty threat. Because that would only make things worse for the Nomrad family than what they already were, as they would only be adding another vicious enemy to their list of opposition.
Magnus added darkly, releasing his killing intent, "If you harm my son in the slightest, you and your father can both forget about leaving here alive."
Morin watched on in humiliation as his father was being threatened because of him; he felt the sharp sword grazing his skin, ready to sever his head at any given moment, and this junior, whom he underestimated, wasnāt even looking at him.
After all, with how badly he was injured and constantly losing blood. He could not move in the slightest; he could not even feel his limbs; he was barely even hanging onto consciousness.
Magnus expected the boy to fold at any given moment and probably start spouting righteous nonsense. Yet.....
That did not happen. The Count watched as Axel Nomradās mouth curved wider into a hideous, almost inhumane smile, and that ominous foreboding returned and began to increase until it reached an all-time high.
He heard the voice of the boy, yet it was now much deeper, darker, and more sinister, "Thatās good. I guess you do care about your son. I was afraid you might not care."
And the words only confused the masses. Someone whispered, "What does that suppose to mean?"
Axel then slashed with his sword, wearing the unnatural grin like a devil, and in one smooth motion, his blade cut through the neck of Morin Drake. With a resounding thud, the head of the famed warrior dropped to the ground. In his last moment, he wore an expression of incomparable horror.
Blood spurted from the headless body of Morin Drake, like a bloody fountain. Painting the grounds in fresh viscous bright red blood.
For a moment, no one seemed able to process what had just happened, and when it finally clicked, their faces showed utter disbelief at the madness they were witnessing.
Followed by a mighty scream, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..."
Magnus wailed at the top of his lungs and dashed right towards Axel Nomrad, his eyes bloodshot, and every ounce of his power exploded outward, cracking the ground where he was standing previously.
Axel was not surprised by that action from the Count; his head moved at a speed far greater than before. He had already activated his magic circuit and started using the passive enchantments of his runic eyes. He looked at the Countās eyes directly, imprinting his mocking smile on the father who just lost his son.
Magnus roared aloud with greater fury at that smile of Axel Nomrad, putting all of the strength into his fists. The count punched, wishing to smash his fists right through the runecasterās head.
Axel, seeing the fist coming at him, moved his own body, not much inferior to the count in his speed. But he did not dodge; he took the brunt of that punch on his other uninjured shoulder.

Axel was thrown backwards, more than 20 meters, hurled out of the sparring section, as he crashed into a wall, and all the bones in his shoulder broke from the force of impact. Axel threw up a mouthful of blood as the damage did not merely stop there. Its impact force even reached his internal organs.
Magnus glared at the runecaster hatefully. He was going to kill this wretch right here and now. But to his surprise, after throwing up an unhealthy amount of blood. The boy again showed that disgusting grin, this time with his bloody teeth.
It was in this instant that he felt something was off, as an overwhelming pressure descended upon the late third-phase count. His instincts flared up, urging him to run. But before he could even process that thought, a destructive punch landed right on his back.
This time, he was sent flying, his spine almost cracking as he smashed into the same wall that Axel Nomrad had crashed into. Throwing up blood in a similar manner, he looked at the one who had done this in hatred and with a tinge of caution.
It was Daniel Nomrad, and sensing the pressure radiating out of his figure, the Countās eyes widened in disbelief. The bastard was a 4th-phase Seeker. Not only that, Magnus felt the bastardās foundation in the 4th phase was already strong, so it was not even a recent breakthrough.
Daniel growled, releasing his bloodlust, "YOU DARE TOUCH MY SON?????"
"I WILL KILL YOU," declared the Nomrad family head thunderously as a boundless rage overflowed in both his mind and body.
However, the unfolding of the chaotic events did not just stop right there, just as Daniel Nomrad was about to charge forward, with the intention to kill the bastard who dared to lay a hand on his son.
Another powerful pressure erupted, and the new presence softly grabbed Danielās shoulder. Just as he was about to attack the new 4th phase Seeker who dared to stop him from exacting his rightful revenge, he was surprised for a moment, seeing the man, as he whispered, "Jordan Greaves??"
Unexpectedly, the branch head of the Greaves commerce was also present there, and he had been there from the start with a disguise, hiding his identity.
He finally revealed himself at the opportune moment. He stated with a chuckle, "Daniel, donāt worry, your son is fine, let me handle this."
Daniel looked at his son, despite his brutal state, the boy was grinning... and sensing his gaze, his son nodded with his bloody teeth, and it looked threatening more than reassuring to him for a moment. With a reluctant nod, he stepped back and let the Greaves Branch head take the center stage.
Walking in vast strides, Jordan spoke boldly, "Imperial commandment 245, no intervention in a knightly duel is allowed from the supporters of either figure, even if one or both parties die in the duel."
His words paused, but his feet did not stop, stepping closer and closer, until standing right on top of the battered count, looking down on him, he proclaimed righteously, "And upon violation of this rule. The guilty party shall be judged and punished heavily by the imperial court for this offense."
Count Magnus glared at him in boundless hatred, just as he was about to get up, Jordan Greaves stomped on Magnusās stomach with immense force, worsening the Countās injuries, making him vomit more blood in the process.
Jordan turned around, fiddling with a round recording artifact in his hands, holding it at eye level to make everyone understand that he had recorded the whole event as proof of the Countās crimes.
Putting it back in his space storage, he then looked in a specific direction. He asked with a sneer, "Or am I wrong, Florence? The first knight of the Duchess?"
Then he let out a mocking laugh and directed his words at the most crucial figure present, "Or should I ask, am I wrong? Your highness, the Dukser Duchess?"
