Axel shook his head, “I can only give you a certain amount of maximum rune tools every month, nor can I make promises about providing more rune tools even if the situation escalates into something worse.”
Jaden’s expression turned sour. “Axel Nomrad, if you don’t give us enough rune tools for it to make a significant enough advantage, why would we even buy it?”
Axel sighed, “Maybe you’re thinking in the wrong way, Jaden. Have you dulled your senses perhaps? The rune tools you get from me should be used as a surprise tactic; otherwise, your enemies will adapt to it if you show your hand too soon.”
Enrick sighed, “It’s not that we didn’t think of it, but in this situation, wouldn’t it be better to show all of our cards and do the most damage at the beginning when we are being underestimated?”
Axel sneered, “In that case, you’re not considering my rune tools as a trump card in the first place, it seems. You haven’t seen my 2nd-tier rune tools personally, have you??”
They all shook their heads; it seems his guess was right. Using that chance, Axel brought out three rune tools, placing them on the table. They were all rare grade 2nd tier…
Each was imbued with two pseudo-runes among the 24 basic elements of reality. Of course, Axel could stack multiple more layers of runes, turning them into epic or even unique grade of the 2nd tier…
Jaden, Enrick, and Thorian all had their eyes widen as they felt the pulse of power emanating from the tools. They looked at them in disbelief. For they had never seen rune tools with such great qualities.
Axel stated, “My rune tools represent quality and not quantity….”
Thorian asked, “Could these be epic grade? How could there be active abilities imbued in them? These are enough to overturn a complete battle if used properly.”
Axel smiled as he dropped the bombshell, “No, these are merely rare grade… I have yet to make the epic grade ones, but their supply will be even less. I can only provide the rare grade ones in bulk. As for the epic grades, they are built to be personalized for individual seekers, as they need to be bonded…”
The attitude of the three immediately changed; they now looked at Axel as a treasure trove. All the negative feelings they had vanished, as the princes forgot about their positions and began to butter him up.
Even Jaden began to spin his genius brain faster and faster. Trying to think of how to please Axel and make the best possible deal out of him. But in the end, no matter how much they buttered him up, the amount of rune tools he could provide at large was fixed.
So, they could only give up and accept it, in hopes of not offending him. Axel’s attitude towards them also became much more amiable by the end of their long conversation, as they had also hammered out the details about everything regarding the deal in general.
Axel immediately returned to the Nomrad mansion afterwards, this time with nothing else to bother him, not that he had any time in hand to spend it on anything else in the first place. He dived directly back into work. The sheer amount of rune tools he would have to make for the 2nd phase seekers of three great kingdoms at once was already giving him a headache.
This time, he didn’t even have the luxury to finish each part of the runecrafting process individually, for example, if he had to make, let’s say, 100 rune swords, he would first make 100 raw forged swords, then go into the process of rune engraving, as it gives him better efficiency to focus on one thing at a time.
But this time, due to the horrendous amount of rune tools as well as so many types he would have to make, not just swords, he can’t focus too much on a particular part of the process. Not to mention, he had to deliver a certain amount of rune tools every month to all the forces he was contracted with.
The war should last for a few months to half a year. But right before the start of it, he was under the most pressure now. Because only a week remained until it started, and he had to deliver at least 500 2nd-tier rune tools to Lucien.
As for the Greaves and Vanelis family, as well as his deals with Thorian and Enrick, those deliveries could be pushed back for a few more weeks, until the conflict escalates into a truly brutal massacre.

Inside Damien’s rune chamber, the first thing he did was to pick the necessary amount and types of 2nd-tier forging materials from the iron shelf, shaped into steel-like bars, which were called billets. He put the billets into the forge, waiting for them to heat and soften into a semi-liquid state, like dough.
As he waited, the heat scorched his skin, since he was in his bare body.
Not even coating himself with a layer of protective mana, because through countless trials and errors, he learned that the forging part of the process was best done when not even the slightest trace of energy was involved. Not even activating the rune circuits inside of him, which boosted his physical stats.
So, the burn of the skin or the uncomfortable heat was something he had to endure. The process needs to be completely physical, with no energy involved. Though apart from an uncomfortable sensation. The heat couldn’t really do anything to him, courtesy of the demon bloodline enhancing his constitution.
Axel brought out the lava-like molten metal, now almost hot red in color, putting it on the anvil, he started beating it with the giant hammer in hand, gently shaping it into the rough structure of the sword first, but by that time, the metal had almost hardened, thus it needed to be re-heated. This time, the force behind each of his swings was much greater, with greater precision.
Eventually, this process continued in a loop until the roughly shaped sword was much finer looking, but he was not completely satisfied. With a grimace, Axel could only continue until he was satisfied with the forging.
He only stopped when there were about a dozen swords ready to be engraved. By now, he was skilled enough in forging to make the dozen in an hour, whereas when he first started to learn this craft, it would take him almost a few days to properly make even one good enough forged sword; even then, it would be inferior to his current samples.
Though his progress was significant, there was still much more room for improvement, which is why he wanted to learn forging from Sophia.
Axel could only sigh, putting one of the forged spears on the engraving table, starting the ever-so-boring rune engraving. And this back and forth between rune engraving and forging, day and night, he would have to do for almost a week, with no break, barely any sleep or other activities.
He could only curse at himself, “So, this is the price to pay in order to become rich? Well, so be it, if that is what it takes to be a billionaire, I’ll just not sleep if I can help it.”
And the funnier prospect was that he was already a billionaire by mundane human standards. But as they say, human greed knows no bounds.
